After exercising this morning via YT, I watched Mr. A petting Hazel. She was breathing fine and Mr. A's hand was resting a little further down. I am sure I saw some movement from the soon-to-be born kittens. I suspected she'd birth soon. Thanks, Mr. A. You're a magnificent feline caretaker.

She and they are so beautiful. Interesting that the little calico is not dilute like her mother, but I've read that requires two copies of the dilution gene, so Hazelnut's coloration is very uncommon.
as soon as I realised it was 'go' time, I set up my tv to watch on youtube from the comfort of my bed! I won't lie - I may have drifted off inbetween kittens 3 & 4, but, I watched!!! I had a feeling there would be more than just two kittens!! I watched her yesterday afternoon as her belly rippled with babies and worked out 'at least four or five' given that at one point, it looked like there was a full scale riot going on in there! plus the pacing back and forth in and out of the nesting box. I have to also comment that the firstborn, the little calico, she looks like the calico cat that lives across the road from me - if she were to have a twin, baby 1 is it. the calico kitty in question runs to me and meows loudly at me like I own her - I don't!! and it's every time she sees me - even if she's getting pettings from other people. five years of being mugged by the friendliest cat in the neighbourhood!! baby 1 needs to take lessons from her!! (not my cat - no, she hisses at inaminate objects for no reason and then acts like it's no big deal................. and then sleeps on a piece of astroturf because she can.) number 4 is mostly white because number 2 took all the black! LOL! she ran out of colour by then 🤣 yes, I've spent all day watching them... also, Mr A can't get those kids confused 👍 next up: Dr DJ is going to dive headlong into that room to personally greet them all 😀 and then we get to find out their names 😀
I thought she was going to keep baking these babies forever! All four are very cute.
Hazelnut did so well! And Mr. A is such a wonderful helper. Four beautiful adorable kittens. Gadget and Crank napping together are also just too cute!
