Thank you! Last night the driver's side power window couldn't be opened and today I have been able to repair it following your advice. In my case the plastic melted around a contact and prevented a swing from doing its job. Thanks so much indeed, Giovanni MX5 NA 1991 SE BRG
This gave me motivation to get to that switch I have been putting off. I used a wire brush to clean everything, in case anybody doesn't have sand paper handy. It worked as well. Thanks :)
Thank you! I have the factory shop manual for my '91 and it was no help. Your video made it easy. 30 min start to finish. I can't believe how carboned the contact points were. And...how long I've been living with a switch that would only work after 40-50 repeat toggles. ;-)
Glad I could help. Over on miata.net there are lots of write ups on how to do these things, but I figure making videos will inspire people to tackle these projects when they see how it's done.
It is a Voodoo Knob. Look it up in google because I can't post links here. I love that shifter. It's been on my last 3 Miatas and on my car now. There is also an parking brake handle for it in the same finish.
I have a MK1 Eunos and my switches are different to yours. I cannot prise the circuit board away to access the contacts. I have removed 3 screws on the circuit board but it won't budge. I am thinking autos have different switches :(
What was the solution for your driver door window? I’m having the same issue. I can hear the motor trying to go, but it takes many clicks of the switch to get it moving
No joy for me :-( I was afraid to try to pry out the switch, and being an automatic with overdrive, the console removal looked more complicated than it is for a manual. So, I took it to my mechanic. To add insult to injury, the Check Engine light came on on the way to the garage. A needed emission repair. Anyway, he called me to tell me he had the switch out if I wanted to try to clean it. I got the switch, which looked different than what is shown here (this is a '99 Miata). I got the switch apart but there were no exposed contacts. Each lever moved a separate small sealed slider switch. I gave him to go ahead to order a new switch. This is going to be $$$$$$$$$$$$$! :-(
Thank you!

SOMEONE GET THIS MAN A RAISE, saved me from the rain thank you!
Thanks for the video, worked perfect on my 93 Miata. Saved me a lot of money. I'm sure my local garage would have want to start replacing everything.
I fixed my window switch yesterday and it works beautifully now. Thanks for the informative video. Without your video, I would never try DIY.

If your window is stuck start by shutting the door with a bit of force.
