I quit a job 3 years ago and posted the "Take me up, seal the door, i don't wanna march here anymore. I realize that this line is dead" part on Facebook. I'm sure not many, if any, of my people know the song. But that's how I felt that day. I got the insight to how miserable i was by the line, "send like all I'm with is what I'm able to withstand," from Choker. It was a very Scaled and Icy time in my life. Well, and Self Titled, obviously.
It’s definitely an interaction with God. But to me, the March is life, not so much suicide. A march is slow and steady, and repetitive. We get in line and die a little everyday as we inch to our death eventually (the sea like you said). We follow what others do and get in line. God says follow me instead. But Tyler does tell God take me up, I don’t want to march here anymore. I think that is more about being tired of fighting with the feelings of not wanting to be here, asking God take me home kind of. But God puts him back in his place (maybe gives him the strength and peace for a while) to keep fighting and going on earth (purpose). Because choosing a way different than most of the world is a daily choice. Could be wrong, but those were my take aways from this track, which is in my top 10 TOP. |-/
I have gone around and around with this one as far as whose voice (Tyler, God, etc) is it for which part? I am close to your thought in that the line is life and it's just what everyone does until they die. I wonder if the voice is death/ self life ending/ dark thoughts. It keeps tempting him to "get out of life" so to speak. It's a head scratcher though. I love it!
@@asdband888 I think the musical cues tell us that the voice is God, because the vocals become like a heavenly choir! I believe Jesus says repeatedly in the bible 'follow me' to people.
A lot of their older songs are about God and his struggles with faith. But tyler is very much so a Christian today and I think Josh is too but I am not sure
I think that, yes, he is probably meaning god but I also think he can be talking about purpose. Forgive me coz my brain is not working …. But one of their songs talks about finding a purpose to give your life meaning…. Whether it’s art or music or some else you can find yourself in. I think that this can be that voice…. You just need to find something to stay alive. Oh I think maybe it’s kitchen sink???
Yes … kitchen sink Are you searching for purpose? Then write something, yeah it might be worthless Then paint something then, it might be wordless Pointless curses, nonsense verses You'll see purpose start to surface
Tyler’s battle with his belief in God and his own mental wars are beautifully captured in this song - thanks for the amazing reaction, as always
There’s just something special about Tyler’s screams snd emotions. Enjoyed your reaction as always! Thanks

7:40 and you haven't react yet to "save", i think is one of his most heartreaking songs. Can wait to hear your thoughts
I came here to write this and you’re here 😏
@zalp5144 me too 😂
Save and Goner will question whether this song has the most emotional scream 👀
This song is true lyric masterpiece. One of the best songs. Johnny boy next pls
josh only joined in 2011 (during regional at best), so this is chris salih on the drums
tyler and josh also only met in like 2011 or 2010 as far as I know and then they were friends for a while prior to josh joining the band
this one is my fave from this album
The best scream ever❤
so glad you actually looked up the date!
It's about God :)

Lyrics only Tyler can write.
Songs in TØP’s RAB and self-titled albums are windows to Tyler’s tortured mind. (IMO)
