Trevor is oblivious to Rui’s perimeter game and shot creation abilities (especially in the playoffs, half-court). Don’t see anyone else outside AD or Bron who can play with their backs to the basket. How are you going to make a deep run relying on 3s from DFS, Max, Cam, or Vando? Where’s the scoring going to come from?
It’s a very good trade. Gets us under second apron and not use any first rounder. His defense will help exponentially when you have a guy like AD playing behind him. And he’ll space the paint for AD/Lebron to operate.
I don't understand how he's considered a "four" when he's the absolute perfect size to guard 3's and 2's. I know that's where Brooklyn and others played him mostly but he's the prototypical 3 and D WING. Plus Rui is a great stretch 4 option. Lebron is now a 4 considering he's slowed down some and then Vando is a 4 as well. We need this dude to play the fuckin THREE, not the 4.

10 years ago his man would be a SF/SG. But the power forward is small in today's league and nobody really rebounds hard. He's also north of 30 and lost a step or two. The power forward is a dying position. It's basically 2 small forwards these days.

Took me a bit to digest this. DFS was not very high on my list - hopefully I will be positively surprised. DFS will probably get all of Cam Reddish minutes (?), Gabe will slot in for D'Lo, Rui-DFS-LeBron will be able to play 3-4 and bump DK down to a full-time 2. Effectively Reddish and D'Lo have been playing a total of 41 mpg, DFS will take 30-35 of those and Gabe/Shake Milton can take the rest; everyone else should stay about the same.

D'Lo, Gabe, Rui has all been playing better lately - meaning that their value has gone up and so it's probably ideal to trade them all now.
D'Lo's value was mostly his fairly big expiring contract, but the other two has actual value on the court. It's going to be interesting to see what's next.

Outside of Brunson Finney Smith was the only other player Luka was mad Mavs let go seeing he came into his own being a 3andD guy playing with Luka I expect him to flourish with Lebron and know his role and not shrink like other players who come to LA also perfect compliment to Rui more sturdy and perfect for small ball lineups Milton I think pushes Max and Knecht a lil bit harder because he can jump in front of Gabe right behind Cam so that pushes both youngins Max and Knecht to go harder for their minutes with another vet coming in which i expect JJ to give a lil tick right away because Shake is at least aggressive where Cam and Gabe are passive on offense and sometimes just look for Lebron or Austin and hide... I used to defend DLO all the time, but that ended during last year’s playoffs when DLO just gave up in the huddle. The kid was on his phone 📱😑
His opinion wasn't valued then and now. You can see multiple games last year where he's addressing the team and lebron comes in and speaks over him and they all ignore dlo. This was during regular season. It's clear him and Bron didn't grove well

My only concern with this trade and the shooters that come to the team is that their percentage goes down tremendously when they step under the bright lights of LA ( Malik Beasley, torian prince, Gabe Vincent, dlo, Christian woods) they forget how to shoot
DLO is useless in the playoffs , always has been and that is highly unlikely to ever change. Yes, he is offensively talented but also a massive liability defensively which negates essentially all his scoring. Hope DFS will remember how to shoot threes and doesn’t get injured 🙄😁

Took me a bit to digest this. DFS was not very high on my list - hopefully I will be positively surprised.
DFS will probably get all of Cam Reddish minutes (?), Gabe will slot in for D'Lo, Rui-DFS-LeBron will be able to play 3-4 and bump DK down to a full-time 2.
Effectively Reddish and D'Lo have been playing a total of 41 mpg, DFS will take 30-35 of those and Gabe/Shake Milton can take the rest; everyone else should stay about the same.
