37:00 There was a time where Vinny would stream practically everyday, from 11PM to 4AM. While the hiatus wasn't 100% planned, I'm glad it finally let Vinny make his own schedule and let him focus more on life, you know? Vinny has been streaming a considerable bit more since then, but it was a nice, gradual pace. He can actually enjoy the DAY now.
You know what would be funny? If every smg2 thumbnail has "you can play as luigi!", but it's removed from the previous thumbnail, every time. So whenever we get a new one it says the line, but when you check back to the old one it's gone. Causing a new bout of confusion every week.
I remember listening to Chuggaa talking about his experience with losing a friend while playing Starshine Beach Galaxy, and it was just as comforting listening to Vinny talk about life discussions in the same level. I swear this stage has some sort of magical aura
Yeah, I’m not even a big fan of this game, but something about this stage, just for a little while, recaptures that Sunshine feel in a really wonderful way
I completely agree with that sentiment at around the 12:00 mark. Everyone's major complaints surrounding the Switch, especially in its later years, is that the games just don't run well on it anymore. If Nintendo told me that my Switch games would run better on the new hardware, I'd be much more inclined to buy the new system right on release, rather than wait for enough titles to exist later down the line. I don't even mind if it's not immediate and games have to be updated. Just promise me that it'll happen and I'll be _almost_ entirely convinced.
The strange thing is that historically, competent developers were able to master each generation of system and push performance and graphics as the console life cycle aged. Competent developers. They rarely exist these days.
1:13:42 I think Mario's heroic traits are admirable, but I appreciate Luigi more because I actually get to see him struggle to grow as a person. Mario is already perfect in nearly every way; he's always ready to serve when duty calls, he doesn't bat an eye at big rescue missions, or quiver in his boots at the thought of a ghost. But whenever Luigi has to choose between his life or his brother's, he puffs up and fights his fears, no matter how much torment he has to endure to get past it all. I don't know if Mario has internal conflict, because he never seems to show it, but if he does, I'll be damned if it takes him half as much effort to push himself to do anything as his scaredy-cat brother.
Since Vinny was talking about the new Zelda LEGO set, I've been watching a TON of LEGO TH-cam for the past few years, and the way I understand the LAN stuff works is that LEGO will ask if you want to get a set early to review and then you can choose to accept or not. I'd imagine there's also a way out of the program, so if Vinny wanted to apply and just get the Deku Tree and then dip out, he PROBABLY could. No confirmation of that so take it with several grains of salt, but I'm sure people have done that before.
Hey so there is another HUD texture pack that you can find when looking up "SMG2 Faithful HUD Remaster (HD Textures)". This one is.. fine but it's a pretty outdated one, it makes a lot of HUD elements look like plastic, like the power stars. The new one is, as the title says, faithful to Galaxy 2's HUD. Just a suggestion on my part :)
I downloaded A Link Between Worlds 4K and was rly disappointed when everything from the UI to the typeface was so inaccurate- I'd just opt for upscaled Vanilla instead
I have to disagree with the whole "Mario has no personality" thing. Dude can be pretty snarky at times especially during Mario RPGs. He's also quite devious. He's pretty much lawful good with moments of chaotic good.
Yeah, but only in the RPG canon. By contrast, there's Luigi who's a coward in more of the other games. Then again, it's not like the platformers allow many opportunities for characterization anyway.
I'm amused that I managed to predict that game having that exact problem having never even watched a trailer for it. Something about some modern Nintendo releases just gives them that stink of being extremely lacking in substance, you can spot it a mile off.
58:36 Funnily enough, there is a difference between “wild” and friendly waddle dees in Kirby. Obviously there’s Bandana Dee, but Return to Dream Land Deluxe uses the same model for enemy waddle dees as Star Allies, and shares the model for NPC waddle dees with Forgotten Land, with the two having slightly different proportions.
Speaking of Vinny's thoughts on Xenoblade, he got to riiiiight before the second battle theme and I've always wanted him to listen to it because it's INSANE
Though I can understand where he's coming from as not only are RPGs are very long the stories can feel overwhelming, super hopeless, and bleak, which is probably why he stuck around longer for the Bing Bing Wahoo RPGs and Dragon Quest, which are a bit more optimistic even in the most dire situations.
I would do so many things for a Skies of Arcadia remake or HD port, even if it's niche, a new release of it might be better received and even be perceived as a "new" release, since so few people knew if it before. it's a very good RPG and the theme is probably more appealing now than it was back then.
38:52 ironically I think games like this are the perfect time to get deep if there is one since its basically an autopilot game and theres not much new to comment on
As a fan of the first two Endless Ocean games, I can attest to Luminous being disappointing and empty. The first two days spent with the game are great, but you'll inevitably hit a brick wall with it, where you keep running into the same landmarks, same creatures, same mysteries you've already solved, and it becomes incredibly tedious. On paper, procedurally-generated maps make the game more exciting and unpredictable than hand-crafted maps with specific fish in each location, but the issue with Luminous is that there's just not enough content for the procedural-generation to work with. To finish the story, you have to solve all 99 mysteries on the tablet, but you'll experience the bulk of the game's content before you even reach half of that. I'm currently at 97 mysteries solved, over 450 creatures discovered, and over 230 treasures found, and right now, I feel like any time I turn this game on, I'm squeezing blood from a stone. It doesn't help that there doesn't seem to be any significant content updates in the immediate future, so the game's basically dead on arrival. We had ONE event where all the small creatures on the map were bigger than usual, and that was it. This game's idea of "events" is a joke. I know it's only been out for about a month now, but my point still stands. With online co-op having so much of a focus, this game NEEDS regular content updates to give players a reason to even bother finding the rest of those illusive mysteries. The actual co-op gameplay of exploring fish, finding treasure and sharing your discoveries with each other to help everyone out is great, I just wish there was more content to work with, because right now, it feels like a cheaply-thrown-together, AI-generated farce of a game with less customisation options than the originals (you can't even pick your own gender or alternate costumes, for crying out loud).
If you have indigestion problems, probiotics and yoghurt and any kind of fermented food really helps. If you still get indigestion every day, maybe what you're eating is not good for you. Try and change your diet. Everyone's stomach is different...

What if Mario tried to grab Lubba in a headlock after making a "har har" joke and went like "What did you a say!? Huh!?"
