Kristen Wiig breaks character whenever she looks at Will, I saw an interview where she said she couldn't help but laugh whenever she saw Will's reaction
I want my wife to use these when we're intimate so that whatever she is holding looks larger if you know what l mean because God knows l could use a break in this life.
I have precious memories of The Lawrence Welk Show. When I was a very little girl ...3 and 4.... when this show came on, it was always a big deal to me! I would put on my special "dancing dress" and dance to all the music, performing for my sweet grandparents who were my audience, sitting and clapping for me from the nearby sofa ❤️.
I used to watch the Lawrence Welk show at my grandparents house too! My Grandma had to have it on and we would have a ball laughing at Lawrence Welk. I miss them so much.
It was tradition to watch Lawrence Welk on Saturday night when I was a very little girl. I would put on my frilliest pink nightgown and dance to the songs. In the mid-90’s.
.....for all of us over age 30 who were stuck watching Lawrence Welk with their grandparents on Saturday nights as kids, haha. I guess that was the tradeoff for letting me watch the Dukes of Hazzard, and the A-Team when I came up to spend the weekend, haha.
She is so talented. Its difficult to be a good comedian, you either got it or you don't. will Ferrell also, is like he was born to be a comedian. He was so perfect for this character
My daughter bought the tiny hands on Amazon many years ago. They creeped my out but made me laugh. She is now a graduate student but continues to have a great sense of humor. Thanks SNL!
“They’re lakes that look like fingers, I guess; I don’t travel” kills me!! I love every part of this skit- Fred Armisen does a HILARIOUS Lawrence Welk, and other than Doonice, that’s *exactly* the schmaltzy shit they’d have on that show
Yep. The stilted, PG-rated flirting, fixed smiles, pretense that everything and everybody was perfectly conventional and cooperative, despite some cast members being barely closeted and others bitterly envious over somebody else getting more prominent skits and songs in this dreary little show.
The first time I saw this it was without volume and I was at work. I literally had tears running down my face and was glad that for once I didn't have any patients 😂😂😂
When I first saw this sketch, I didn't know what to make of it. But it's so true. Every song on the Lawrence Welk Show sounded the same. When I saw Dooneese, I was wondering if she was some kind of thalidomide child. I found it disturbing at first, but she is funny.
I have a Labrador Retriever that does the tiny hands (paws) to me standing on her hind legs. I think of these sketches and just can't stop laughing. So I had to show this video to my partner. We both laughed our heads off. Kristen Wiig is so talented and funny. It's hilarious she's the funny bad guy in Wonder Woman 1985 now, too. Just fantastic.
Really? The only movie of hers that I didn't like was the recent Ghostbusters. Other than that, they've been fantastic. Bridesmaids was great. The Skeleton Twins was less comedic but still amazing.
When I turned 13 my parents played a prank on me. They bought me some albums I wanted, like the Beatles, the Guess Who, and 3 Dog Night, for my birthday - but they put them inside the album covers of some Lawrence Welk records my grandma had, LOL! When I took off the wrapping paper ... 🤤🤤🤤! But I was still polite and said thank you. Later my dad said, "Don't you want to play your new records?" Reluctantly I took one out of the album cover - then I saw the switcheroo! Still makes me LOL to this day!!!
Back in "the old days" before remotes and cable there wasn't a whole lot of variety on TV plus my parents ruled the TV and watched Lawrence Welk every week 😂

It's his face
I bet!
Because of his face lol , he’s not that funny

Kristen is enjoying her role just a bit tooo much :-)))
That’s what makes it funny lol
No such thing as too much!
It is one of the most iconic and enjoyable characters anybody could ever play.
has to be the greatest kristen wiig character omg
i thought so to until i saw The Californians, and then Garth and Kat

Agreed. This is fantastic comedy.
The way he was staring at her killed me! 🤣🤣🤣
he looks fearful and violated
Such a pro
I loved that part too
The catching bubbles thing at the end has gotta been an improvised moment, so silly yet so great.
If I showed this to my grandma, she would think it was real
I know what you mean lol!
was there a weird sister? It does seem familiar?
😂😂😂😂😂

This has to be one of the top 5 characters ever on this show, every line is so simple yet delivered perfectly, leaves me laughing the whole sketch

I watched it with my grandparents too. I think it was on the same night as Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. It was my favorite night with them.
Can we all just appreciate what a fantastic imitation of Lawrence Welk Fred Armisen is doing here?

Was 8 y.o., sister and I stayed with ours for a year. Went out to play. Granny loved this show.
So did I. My grandmother would watch it every Saturday night

I love how sexually aggressive Doonice is.
If I actually had a long lost twin she'd be it, my soulmate sister!!!! 👭💝💖🎆
It might be the huge head and tiny hands .
Atleast she got to blow the bubbles 😝
Woah! Looks like someone understood the character and premise of the sketch!

Kristen Wiig
You have to be a master to be able to pull laughs with Will Ferrell as the straight-man in a sketch. Kristin Wig is a beast.
I swear there's just something a little "off" about Dooneese, but I can't quite put my tiny hand on it.

Her sisters reactions to her “is that bad?” Song lol
Lawrence Welk at 0:40. "I Don't travel"!😄😄 That is Epic! Reminds me of my Grandparents!
Casey Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Abby Elliot... the three most forgotten SNL girls of this era
Casey Wilson is on the Hotwives shows on Hulu.
I didn’t know Casey Wilson was on it!? Only knew her from Happy Endings.
