Oh really? I’ve never actually come off a ship onto the island, so I’m not sure about that one. I’d hazard a guess that it depends on the ship, but you could ask your on-board concierge to be sure 🙂

I looked into the Royal Palm to rent a cabana but they’re all booked. Any other suggestions? We need to be mindful of my father in law, he’s 88 and a little unsteady. Just a nice place to sit in the shade for him and my mother in law. The kids, my wife and I may rent Segways. Any tips?
You could get a spot to sit at any of the major hotels along 7 Mile Beach. If you’re coming in on a cruise ship you can ask your concierge to call ahead to make any special reservations if you have accessibility needs. I’d recommend the Marriott, the Westin, the Ritz or the Kimpton. The Kimpton is the furthest up the beach from the port but will likely be the quietest spot if there are ships in. The other hotels are closer to the Segway attraction. You can also ask your concierge for assistance with getting an accessible taxi as well. I know some ships are more helpful than others, but you can try to ask them about all of these things and they may surprise you! If you’re not coming on a ship and have access to a phone to call ahead for a taxi I’d recommend Super Cabs (345 888 8888) Good luck and have fun!

Hello Jazzimm, I looked at another of your vids where you talked about this 10ft allocation of beach to the public. As a native do you find this is enough especially as in that other vid you said tourism is not the number one income earner for the island? Yes i'm asking for a personal response.
I definitely wish that they preserved more waterfront land, I won’t lie. But I will be grateful for what we have, because there are a lot of other places in the world that don’t leave any space at all protected for the public! Plus, many resorts and ocean front property owners are respectful and don’t blockade much or any of the beach front land.

and about public transportation, loike buses???? I just came from the Cayman Islands and I was using the public buses everyday (18 days) just costs you $2 C and you just have to raise your hand and they will stop for you and take to anywhere on his route

It still is. Technically all beach is public property. Just bring your own towel if you don't want to pay for a beach chair somewhere. But I do know what you mean! When I was a kid, the beaches used to be pristine and never over-crowded. Back then it wasn't a tourist trap of purchases. It's a different Cayman now.

When dropped off by a taxi at a public Beach access, how do we get taxi back ..are there stands close by they automatically stop at. We only have a few hours dont need the fear of not getting back on time especially due to tenders. Any local spot for lunch you recommend? Cruising in jan

Rum Point is ok but nowhere near the amount of beach and amenities. Seven Mile is the best beach on the island.

All of the beach bars and hotels have public toilets. You’re never a far walk away from one on 7 Mile Beach :)
