    I remember the 60s Rivs from my early 20s. They were sleek, sporty and power looking. Rarely do you see one as beautiful today.

    Mid-60s: GM was at its best, few better that the Riv. This one is a beauty!

    Fast with class! Of all the cars in your inventory, this is the one I would choose. Elegant, sleek and powerful.

    Love these, my sister in law had a white 66 Riviera when she met my brother about 1969, i think the 66-67 Riviera is really the best Riviera ever designed and built, so nice and luxurious but also responsive power and decent handling, it had its own dashboard and speedometer it shared with the Toronado. Her Riviera made me want one and i wound up buying a used one in 1974. My sister-in-laws BFF had a 67 Lincoln Continental coupe and she was a drinker and my sister in law had to drive her back home a few times and she told me that Lincoln was like driving a big box around and that Riviera was mich nicer to drive
    A friend of mine told me his parents bought a new Cadillac every year but his Mom got a Riviera in 66 and liked it so well , she kept it for 3 years😢

    It's a 66. I own one. Two things are inconsistent with that: the center grille with the chrome bar in the middle is from a '67, and the hood lacks both the block RIVIERA across the middle ('66) and the script Riviera on the driver's side ('67). The '66 clues are: front turn signals (no chrome bar); silver around the taillights ('67 was body color); dashboard with dark headlight and radio knobs with toothed edges ('67 were flat silver knobs (ugly, IMHO) with smooth edges. The shift lever, turn signal lever, and tilt wheel lever are also '66. The original owner -- bless his heart -- got the power antenna option. That gets you a second silver rocker switch at the right edge of the dash, next to the map light switch. This pair of switches matches the pair of wiper/washer switches on the left. I LOVE that symmetry. I think the '66 and '67 Rivieras are two of the most beautiful ever built. My grandmother had a '66 when I got my learner's permit, so it was one of the first cars ever drove. I don't dare try to parallel park it.

      I agree with all you've said about the year of 66. I have a 66 GS with every option, the finned Buick valve covers as well as the power antenna, chrome aircleaner and oil cap and fold down passenger seat, pw windows, power seats, remote mirror, headrests

    That car has a 1967 grill (Center Horizontal chrome strip) 66 has no center chrome horizontal strip , I have the same color with a black vinyl top fully loaded Gran Sport bought on the night of Desert Storm from original owner, has twin factory Carter carbs. bucket seats, floor console, Uniroyal Tiger paw redlines, 88K miles, Ice cold a/c, and lay 2 black stripes on the road at a drop of the throttle!!!

    Wow That is magnificent, and looks so cool, i remember having toy versions of this when i was a kid during that time, and this one is in stunning near original condition, I would gladly part X my 7 series BMW 730d-se for that anyday, pity its not here in the uk.

    I believe this is a 67 & not a 66 due to the thin metal bar across the grille. The 66 didn't have that. It's also missing the Riviera script that should be across the front of the hood. The 66 had RIVIERA spelled out in block letters across the front of the hood so either way it's missing something. Beautiful paint job & interior though

    • @califdad4
      @califdad4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look closely it doesn't have the bar across the front grill, but I'm guessing someone removed the Riviera off the front hood or maybe a minor accident and the grill and hood was replaced years ago using 67 part's

      '67 was mandated to have dual circuit master cylinder, this has single circuit master = '66, same with what is clearly a "nailhead" engine. "Riviera" block letters missing because possibly hood replaced. Definitely a '66 Riviera, otherwise.

  • @dlrbsf
    @dlrbsf ปีที่แล้ว

    You have a 67 grille and 66 turn signals. If the car is 66, the block letter RIVIERA letting is missing from the hood. If the car is a 67, the Riviera (in script) is missing from the drivers side of the hood. Shall I go on? Buyer beware.
