Hello, Thank you for presenting your findings. I am interested in static pile composters to dispose of greywater for tiny homes. The idea would be to cover the piles from rainwater and use greywater from surge tanks to periodically rehydrate the piles. Do you have any info on how much water the piles use per meter cubic of compost input? Any help is appreciated.

How long did it take to get to good compost using the 90-gallon bins, pi and blowers?

Thank you very much for the presentation. I was particularly interested in the relatively low cost vessel composting. I am looking for ways to keep asian jumping worms out of compost. I recently realized I have jumping worms in my garden in the rural Missouri Ozarks. Hot piles can kill worms and their cocoons but after a pile cools it can be invaded by these worms. These worms are not considered desirable or beneficial and can do damage to forests and garden scapes. And they are spreading throughout portions of the U.S. Compost storage may become an important issue in places infested by these worms.

I didn't get it to end. Does it kill the hay and grass seed?

I am going to build one of these and was thinking of not only using the false bottom but placing a 1 or 2 inch perforated pipe in the center vertically. If I use a 4 foot in diameter drum I will also place 4 to 5 more all within 12 inches from the center vertical pipe the walls and each other. This I will use with the raspberry sensor to maintain at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I think For the moisture I will use a well brewed vermicompost tea. Also kelp meal. My goal is to create a food for my worm bins that is loaded with microorganisms that the worms will thrive on. Just an idea but don't think that even for a second I am not going to punish my worms with a low voltage ac electrical charge. They will learn that I am the boss and I also have thumbtacks to put some of them on pegboards to salt or just expose to sunlight. I have also thought of feeding them long hair so they can have a strand coming from both ends. I will tie it together and leave them on there favorite food only to starve to death. Curse the early worm and as we all know the early bird catches the worm. But ha ja ha for the early worm. Spirit says they must suffer for the true worm God. Me !!!!! I am the worm God and will smite the worm. Haaaaa haaaaaa haaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!

The last example, the windrow of manure with a pipe at the bottom...did you turn that ?

I don't think they turned it. When you force the air in with a blower you do not need to turn the pile. The main purpose of turning is to aerate the pile.

Very poor presentation sorry if you had done this study yourself you might have not such a interrupted talk on study 😋
