- This segment of the four part On-farm Composting in Pennsylvania series focuses on the static aerated pile method used at Two Particular Acres in Montgomery County, PA. Two Particular Acres uses this system to more rapidly compost food waste from regional grocery stores, spent grains and yeast from local breweries, and landscape materials into a compost used on-farm as well as a commercially sold product. The video focuses on the system used at the farm, but Two Particular Acres also uses the system in several quarry sites in south eastern PA to produce engineered soils for construction and landscaping uses.
The entire On-Farm Composting in Pennsylvania series, as well as a written overview and bibliography about on-farm composting is available on the Capital RC&D website; www.capitalrcd.org/on-farm-co...
