I have used a yard stick for pick-up also. My husband tapered the front so it's easy to use. Have a great time at the fiber fest. I live in PA so I go to the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival each year which is the first weekend in May. Wouldn't that be closer for you? It is a major festival and just as big as Rinebeck, I believe. Anyway, I really enjoy your channel. God bless.
I will attend the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival sometime in the future. I'm very curious and would like to attend a different festival each year. Close, far, it doesn't really matter, I fly to get there. Thanks for watching the show. I truely love the interactions with other fiber artists. ~Shiree
Absolutely beautiful, I've only been weaving about a year and just got received the Ashford 32" rigid heddle loom yesterday, I'm so excited to try this pattern! Thanks for showing us your wrap.😊
I love this pattern. Thank you so much for showing how to do it. Mine turned out different, however , I used a 100% cotton yarn and I beat too hard I think, it still turned out beautiful, it was my first try at using pick up sticks and I found it not hard at all. I made a scarf by the way. Next time it will be a shawl, I just don't know what yarn I'll try. Again, thank you for taking your time doing tutorials for us. I'm new at weaving and have learned so much from you.
Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback. That's so cool that you did the 7/1 Lace Pattern, and interesting how it turned out differently. Its an adventure I tell ya. ~Shiree
Hi there, have you ever had to have something wide, but only had a 15-16" loom, where you have to make two separate pieces and sewn them together to make a wider piece of fabric for a shawl? I'd like to see how the two pieces are woven together. Thx.
My first loom is this 32" Ashford Rigid Heddle. I knew I wanted the option to go big. I've never made smaller and sewn them together. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
I am going to try double heddle weaving, using 2 heddles of the same size. You can double the thickness of the fabric, or the width. I'm going to try the double width for a blanket. I'm not sure if your loom can do 2 heddles. There's videos on youtuble showing how to do it. I have Ashford looms, they have the double heddle option. I hope you find one that helps you. I've also seen 1 joining 2 pieces together.
It was done on a 32" rigid heddle, 10 dent. 10 epi. Good luck with your figuring. I had such a surplus I didn't have to plan, just did it, and I still have a ton left over. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree
It's *amazing* just how a simple technique like this can produce a fabric that looks so elaborate!
Just sooo beautiful!!
Patience, patience, patience!!! 😊
So true!
Beautiful, not as difficult as I thought, great way of explaining, thank you!!
You’re welcome 😊

Felicitaciones, quedo hermoso tu tejido ❤❤
Gracias! ~Shiree
I use hairspray on sticky warps. You wash it out when you full the project in the end.
Thanks, that's brilliant! ~Shiree
Loving your videos. Thank you
Thank you for checking them out and watching. Happy weaving. ~Shiree

Amazing job! 🤩
Thank you! 😄
Hi there, what size heddle and sett/epi did you use? I have some similar alpaca and trying to guesstimate yarn requirements for this shawl. Thanks!

Can someone help me understand how to weave a shawl on a loom please, or a tutorial. Having some difficulties finding a video or instructions.
I did an in depth episode on how to weave: th-cam.com/video/mDSfPLJIUD8/w-d-xo.html
Good luck to you. ~Shiree
