Today i head back to the Sunny Days Chiang Mai Apartments. If you remember i done a vlog here a few months back but couldn't have a look around at that time. Luckily someone was here today to show me around these great cheap apartments in Chiang Mai.
The cost of living in Chiang Mai has really fallen due to the pandemic and you can find some amazing deals around the city. Chiang Mai apartments are normally a higher price than basic studio rooms but this great small apartment in a quiet location is a great deal, even though the price of these apartments might rise a little when tourist are welcomed back, it's still a great deal.
Sunny Days is among one of the best apartments in Chiang Mai Thailand i've seen for the price, even at 8 or 9000 a month, it's still a great deal.

Thanks Wayne! Another fantastic vlog! It’s so cheap! $200 compares to $2000 a month for a place to live here in LA. No wonder people are choosing to go live in Chieng Mai. Saves a lot of money so you can do something else with it like get good food and a better quality of life. Great job mate.

Brilliant video/vlog again Wayne. When i can eventually travel to Thailand i will be visiting Chiang Mai. Looks like a very laid back and quiet place to spend a month or so. More of these kind of vlogs mate. There very helpful to people like me who are hopefully making plans to semi retire in Thailand. Stay sate and take care mate.

Thai culture is simply beautiful. I miss Thailand. It is definitely worth revisiting then. Hopefully no need to get swab testing when traveling from one city to another.

Good stuff. I don't think I could handle being on the ground floor. I need a little bit of scenery and the outdoor area looks a little too closed in. Always wondered why so many apartments in Thailand don't include a stove. I guess it's because the street food is so cheap. Thanks for the info. I love vlogs showing different apartments and houses. Looking forward to seeing more.
Hey Earl. yes it's a shame about the closed in wall outside, nice woodland outside though. I would choose the upper floor aswell. It's always nice to have all the cooking stove and extras already there, like you mentioned. Thanks Earl, i will look to do more apartment tours soon.

Wayne, your vlogs have really inspired me about Chiang Mai and the possibility of staying there, and because of that i have so many questions...have you thought about doing a 'live'? I suppose time difference is not great for UK based ,but, if you started at say, 6am Thai time, then that would be 11pm UK - justthinking.

Good on ya Wayne. Nice to see the cheaper options. I did walk up condo, airbnb and word of mouth option last time. I liked moving every 2 months so I could explore a different corner of the city. I know you get a better deal for 6 or more months but if you move in and don't like the area or apartment you're in a pickle.

Hi Paul, yes word of mouth and walk in are the cheapest options. What i done the first time i came here, is just book a hotel for the first few nights and then go walking to find apartments. Moving every couple months is a good plan to mate, keep things fresh. Thanks Paul.

I agree, that totally ruined the whole place for me. Walking through the whole living space for a shower is a big no no. Some of the rooms was the correct layout. Thanks man.

No Sand Box here yet, but there is talk of it happening.
I think there will be plenty of bargains to be had accommodation wise for the rest of this year while demand is low. I have been looking at D Vieng in Santitham when Brett done a video of his friend Marks apartment.
Yes Mark, going to be bargains galore all over the city for a longtime yet. D Vieng is a good place mate, i forget how much it was in Brett's vid but i know it was real cheap and in a good part of Santitham.

8-9000 is crazy for those. 500 more would be my max. For a bit more you can get a 'proper' newer place with wifi, Gym and pool, even more.
It's not a bad deal but like you mentioned, can find some right gems about.

No the Vaccaine restrictions information we are getting is so confusing . One site says to have the Vaccaine 2 dose another says no dose just negitave PCR test. Nothing seems clear even in the Thailand Embassy website

These are fun videos to watch. She said "this side starts at B6,000 and that side starts at B6,500. So what is the price for each unit you looked at? I'm assuming the starting price is for the smallest place.
I think it would be helpful if you would carry a little card with a list of topics to ask each property owner. I noticed a lot of things get overlooked. For example, is there a fee for parking? is there a fee for the covered parking area? what is the SQM for each place? does each apartment have no a/c, one a/c, two a/c, etc.? is the a/c an inverter a/c (they use a lot less electricity)? does the refrigerator include an automatic defrost system (most don't), is there security on site? if so, what hours? can you have your own internet installed? do they require you work with a specific internet company? is bedding included? are dishes, pots, pan, cook top, silverware, etc included?
Because while all these places look cheap. You could easily spend B3,000 a month on electricity and B700 on internet. So asking all these questions takes very little time and effort but adds a lot of value to your videos. I'd also try to look at condos instead of apartments. With many condos, you pay under B4 per unit for electricity. If you are running 1 or 2 a/c units most of the day & night, that difference in electrical price can add up quickly.
By the way, the government rate is a tiered system based on usage (kilowatt hours per month). That range is from B3.25 to B4.42. There is also a B36 per month fixed fee per meter.

No restrictions coming into Thailand Ray. If you are heading to another country after, you may need to show vaccine or do a PCR test. But if your just coming to Thailand , all is good 👍

They have a few in Thailand but it's easy with VPNs now. I watch most things from my laptop.

I like this apartment. I will rent on the ground floor so that I can charge my electric motorcycle from a wall socket.
It's a great place, i love the area, it's so quiet down this road. You get a full small apartment also, so a little different from the basic rooms in most places.
Incredibly badly designed flats. The balconies are a terrifivally disappointing point.
