Crazy that Shantae Pirate’s Curse went up that much. 😬 I was lucky and bought it when it was normal priced thankfully. My 2nd most valuable Switch game I think is Worms WMD. Cool video!
I lucked out and bought Trine 1-3 ($20) and Blasphemos ($25) both used at GameStop. I almost put Blasphemous back on the shelf but something made me buy it. This was before it went way up in price of course.
For me, it was the Final Fantasy 1-6 pixel remaster collection. It was sold out on Square Enix's website back when it came out. But thankfully it's getting a reprint and it comes out on October 8th for 75 dollars.
My biggest Switch regrets: 1. Blasphemous 1- last year saw used at GameStop for $35 thought the boss with open brain was too gross and didn’t pick up… 2. Trails series- Got interested in the series too late and now can’t justify paying $80-100+ to get each Game’s US physical.
Trails for me too. CS4 had a reprint. I felt stupid paying a lot more for it even though it caught me up in the series. I don't think twice about NIS or Falcom games anymore.
I can agree on that Blasphemous, last year I saw it at Gamestop on PS4 for $20 and thought of picking it up but figured I'd get it later. Had no clue that it was Limited Run at the time or I would have scooped it up instantly. For the Trails series I picked them up last year on PS4 but most are European copies, not that I care too much.
The Trine Collection on the PS4 at least has all 4 games on the disc, only the switch version uses a download code so it is still possible to get them physically at least on one platform.
I remember Trine Collection being released in about three different collections with GameStop selling their exclusive version with all three games on the Game Card.
I dont have too many regrets with the switch but the messager is definitely one sense i could've bought for retail but didnt pull the trigger. Lollipop chainsaw for me potentially can be a regret if i miss out on the vgp sale. My biggest wins though is definitely shantae and the pirates curse and The liar princess and blind prince storybook edition. Goes to show you win some and you lose some
Incase anyone was wondering, Trine: Ultimate Collection has all 4 games complete on disc for the PS4 version, which I BELIEVE is also significantly less expensive. So... if you have a PS4/5, I'd just dodge that Switch tax and go for the superior version :p
Ive got the Shantae Pirates Curse CE for switch which was limited to 1500 ♡ so that is fun lol. It is my fav Shantae so I scrambled that day to order it on LRG and thankfully have that.
If I didn’t find $220 sitting on my restaurant floor (after waiting 7 for someone to claim it missing, of course), I’d never have been able to afford Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster.
My biggest Switch regret is actually low end games. This year Gamestop decided to make all their 4 for $20 and 4 for $40 deals in stores only ( where as years past they were also online ) and my local stores have a terrible Switch selection. Ordering cheap games off ebay, you end up paying 4-7 a pop in shipping. And not knowing that change was coming, there's some games I held off on getting for $10-15 because I wanted to catch the deal which are now likely to cost me $15-25. $5-10 difference might not seem like a big loss but it's like death by a thousand papercuts.
Also, not just GameStop. Last year I got a ton of games from Deep Discount. A lot of them around $7-8 a piece for certified refurbished. All CIB and free shipping at $25. I got some great deals from there... but missed some of the titles which they always seemed to have in stock while focused on the ones which came and went quickly. I wish I grabbed some of those games back then because their sub $10 games dried up entirely.
I bought at decent prices 1-The messenger 2-Gradia 3-ff pixel remastered 4-Darkwood 5-Battle princess madelyn 6-ghost trick 7-Mario 3D all stars 8-sea of stars backer edition That’s only top of my head, I’m sure I have more bangers, I try to buy a lot of games hopping they worth something along the way. Most of the time they don’t but some worth so much it compensates
Glad I got Pirate's Curse back then, it is my favorite and got them all on Switch, I still got the 3DS reprint too because I think thats the best version.
With Samurai Jack, the game was released in Japan with English... full on cartridge... not limited. So, you could always sell the sealed limited run copy and pick up a used CIB copy of the JPN release for around $25.
Ironically, I was on top of Switch collecting up until about 2020, it just became overwhelming. I needed to save money and missed out on a lotta games, like Jump Force.
Pirate’s Curse will forever be my biggest regret of my Switch collection. I have it on 3DS but it’s not the same. It’s the only Shantae game I don’t own on Switch, and I’m sad they never reprinted it for Switch. I also regret not getting River City Girls for Switch when it was at PAX East back in 2022 or Best Buy when it was only $35. I got it for $85 recently and I love the game, but I wish the ESRB copies weren't so expensive.
I think I have pretty much everything I want so far. There are some first party games I still need to grab, but I try to buy limited releases as they drop, but only if I think I’m going to play them.
If you didn't want it at $10 you don't need the game. Wanting something just because others want it and to brag about it sitting on your shelf now that it's desireable is crazy
I have a feeling that this is part one I only have blasphemous and I have the collectors edition and it’s the one from the power region, which has all the DLC and the fixed stuff on the cart. I have a feeling that’s gonna be very expensive later.
Not Switch related, but I regret not getting Twilight Princess HD. At the time of release, I thought it was stupid for Nintendo to release Twilight Princess on the Wii U since you could already play the Wii version on the Wii U. With rumors of a Switch version making headlines, I was going to wait for that, but to no avail. Now, they want $100 for just the game. I already have the Wolf Link amiibo so I can do the bonus dungeon, but still. I could have gotten that for $60 with the amiibo.
Doom Eternal was a game I almost bought for $129.99 then almost again for $89.99 waited then out of nowhere LRG has a blowout sale. Browsed their inventory and sure enough it was available for purchase. Now it's the Pokemon Shield/Sword + Expansion passes and Mario Kart 8 with all dlc maps.
That’s also how I got doom ethernal!! I was going to pay eBay price when I had an extra dollar or two then I caught that lrg blow out sale, I also got axiom verge 1&2 for retail that day!
I have samurai jack, have xenoblades 2 with dlc sealed. I have Shantae sealed got from BEst buy randomly. I had curse of the moon 1 from Best Buy at released but I returned being a dummy bc I didn’t liked the review I saw and thought it wasn’t a big deal now I regret it. I can get it for like $70 sealed but idk. I end up buying trine collection bc the trine 1 to 3 prices for a copy have been up for a while. Totally regret not getting it. Also regret not getting the outlast 1 and 2 from LRG when it released I remember staring at the website about to purchase that collection and decided not too. I’m sooo sooo mad at my self for doing that. Since I’m a huge fan of horror games. So yea 😭
tf i bought trine 123 and think 4 all one 1 disc for like $5 for xbox at gamestop years ago lol still never played it, i beat the 1st 2 on ps3 like 20 yrs ago so i just bought it for later
Im so happy my friend picked up the special edition for xbc2 because that is now getting pricey that im happy to have a steel case for smtv since that is not in production anymore because of vengeance as well as ps4 version of tsukihime a piece of blue glass moon vn (mild controversy with the art book with sony and censorship not in the game) go play if have a love horror visual novels its good it is also on switch.
This is gonna sound crazy lol but I have 3 copies of the switch version of tsukihime pobgm for switch sealed. I bought them at Best buy. The first one had a small rip in plastic then the second also. The third one was fine. I planned on returning them but it has shot up in value already so I think I'll hold onto them for now.
My regrets for not buying at launch : - Bravely Default 1 (switch port when?) - Kid Icarus Uprising (switch port when?) - Super Mario Odyssey (haven’t owned it) - Xenoblade 2 (bad timing in 2021) - Tokyo Mirage Sessions Encore (bad game in general)
I think LRG cannot release Shantae : Pirates Curse on Switch. I’m *hoping* like the re-releases on PS5, the whole series will come back out again on Switch 2.
dust: an Elysian Tail is one I really would have been wise to get physically when it was affordable 😢 now it’s $150 to 400 😱 for a physical copy… to rich for this pirate sadly I was lucky enough to be on LRG website when Shantae and the pirates curse was up for grabs🎉 sadly did not get the special edition 😂 however I did get the skateboard decks and a few other things with the game ❤❤ it’s my favorite game in the Shantae series next to riskys revenge . Xenoblade chronicles 2 I have 3 physical copies of, one special edition and 2 normal copies. It’s actually the only Xenoblade game I have on the switch because I did not like or enjoy the other 2 games and sold them. I have been a trails fan for a long time,so I picked up the games on the switch early. ( granted a few ended up being a bit expensive) One game I’m happy I decided to finally get is the Asia edition of final fantasy X /X-2 remaster ( as it includes both games on the cartridge unlike the western version 👻)
My only switch game I regret buying technically I did not buy it but my mom did the sisters party of the year it's basically a kid's game the graphics suck and there's so much for repetitiveness. I traded to GameStop a while ago and it only got me a dollar and fifty cents since then I've been just borrowing games from my library.

I was fortunate enough to grab that Trine 1-3 at GameStop for 40. Thanks for another great video! Happy gaming.
This Trine package is complete on cart while the ultimate collection 1 to 3 are download code.
For me, it was the Final Fantasy 1-6 pixel remaster collection. It was sold out on Square Enix's website back when it came out. But thankfully it's getting a reprint and it comes out on October 8th for 75 dollars.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse fownSwitch I didnt evnn knew existed before it went up in price
