I bought the mh12 pro for my mom because she is a retired Tampa police officer of 36 years and she lives at home alone with three dogs in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee with limited sight. She needed something that was both user-friendly and powerful that she could spot potential threats from a distance away on her property that spanned over a acre. She's happy and safer now because of the mh12 pro, and I'm happy and proud that she's able to see and blind any potential threats that may come on her property. Nightcore is the only brand that I recommend, I personally own six variants of Nightcore flashlights and will never go back to the basics
As a native Tennessean I can say this.. She is wayyyy safer in the "middle of nowhere" than in the four main cities here, and definitley more safe than living in Tampa. In most of the small towns here in middle TN it's extremely common for many people to just leave their keys in their cars half the time and not think twice about it. I think that's the perfect choice of light for your mom though.
From a security professional. The MH25 Pro is absolutely 100% worth it for any professional needing a reliable and high performance light. I found my new duty light. I made a practical review video on my channel of the MH25 Pro.
Can the proximity sensore be switched off? One of Nitecore's competitors had such a sensore on one of their models. During snow or heavy rainfall, the sensor kicked the output down because it detected the rain or snow as an obstacle.
I considering get one of these as an airline pilot to perform my preflight checks at night. Would love to be able to get some hands on experience with them, since i'm not sure which would be the better light for me. Whether I would like the longer throw of the MH25 Pro or the wider hotspot of the MH12 Pro. And also whether I would be able to live with the slight green tint of the lights
I’ve just bought the MH12Pro and love it. However, it gets very hot very quickly in high and turbo mode. Does the MH25Pro handle heat better than the 12Pro with its larger head? Thanks.
With regards to sensor protection mode, some of us don't want it as heavy snowfall can activate it. Found this in the manual: when the flashlight is turned on with the sensor protection function activated, short press the mode button to deactivate it. To reactivate this fucntion, siply turn on the flashlight again.
great video. love the development story. my first nitecore was an MH20. Unfortunately I lost it and always wanted a new MH. I use my lamps for overnighters in the woods. Paintball and actually in every situation where I can get them out :D
Have not used these lights for work, but i have bought the P23i and EDC27 both for work and for EDC. Great and reliable tools and never regretted buying one❤
As teacher here in Japan this seems to be a perfect balance for me and my fellow teachers when we do emergency runs during the night and earthquake drills.
To me this would have been the perfect tactical edc if the user interface was slightly different: 1. THE PROBLEM: for every time I want to turn the light on and change the brightness I need to adjust my grip, this is because the light turns on at the back and the brightness is adjusted at the side-switch. I get that this light is designed for the “forward grip” but why then do I have to turn the light on at the back? 2. THE SOLUTION: Make the option to turn the light on using the side-switch: The side-switch should enable the user to use the “daily-modes” in a “forward grip”, then the back-switch should enable turbo/strobe in the hammer-fist grip for tactical situations Finally: I love almost everything about this light, I love the fact that it has a true moonlight mode (being able to adapt to all different situations is a part of being “tactical”).
I am using SRT7i which is superb to light up for my fishing needs with nice spot except I don’t use as tactical. Will be glad to have MH series for easier pointing to search for fish spots using forward grip.
Hey there, thanks for the video! I just had to drop in and share my two cents about these Nightcore flashlights. If you're in the property management 👮 like me, you know that being prepared for anything is the name of the game. Let me tell you how these flashlights have been absolute lifesavers in my line of work. Late-night property checks? Emergency maintenance calls in the dead of night? Yeah, they're all part of the package. That's where these Nightcore flashlights come into play. They're like the superheroes of our toolkit, ready to save the day (or night) at a moment's notice. First things first, these lights are bright - like, light-up-the-entire-room kind of bright. When you're inspecting a property, whether it's a massive apartment complex or a cozy rental, you need to see every detail. These flashlights, packing 3,300 lumens🔥🔥, make sure nothing escapes your watchful eye. No more stumbling around in the dark, trying to decipher the mysteries of that creepy basement. Now, let's talk about runtime. The MH12 Pro's 4 hours and 30 minutes at 1,200 lumens? It's a game-changer. No more rushing to swap out batteries or dealing with a flashlight that goes dim when you need it most. These lights keep going strong, just like us property managers! The grip on these flashlights is legit. Climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and handling emergencies - it's all part of the gig. With these grippy buddies, you won't be dropping your light or fumbling in the dark. They've got your back, so you can focus on getting the job done. And that proximity sensor? It knows when to dim down to 1,000 lumens, so you're not blinding yourself or anyone else in the process. It's all about working smarter, not harder. The battery indicator is a godsend. No more second-guessing if your flashlight will conk out on you. You can check the power level at a glance, so you're always in the know. In the world of property management, where surprises are the norm, these Nightcore flashlights are the reliable partners we've been waiting for. Whether you're dealing with a power outage, a sudden plumbing disaster, or just a routine property check, they've got your back. It's all about making our lives easier and properties better managed.🏢❤
I just got my MH25 pro and did a side by side with the MH25S and yes there is a very noticeable difference in every way (brightness, beam pattern etc) I’m very impressed with the MH25 pro. Even the difference between the high setting before the turbo mode, there’s not much difference in spec lumens (150) but the difference in light is very notable too
I have Nitecore MH12 before and one of the greatest advantages are one it's the slimmest 21700 battery powered flashlight. I like the 1800 lumens but 18650 is not sufficient. 21700 is a much better option runtime last much longer. Also MH12 use generic 21700 or Nitecore 21700. Either way you can choose between two brands of battery. I always keep spare battery. Proprietary 21700 from Nitecore that runs the i-series are expensive. I worked in construction and maintenance so I have to use light with different intensities. Inside the building you don't need that full 3000++ lumens. That's when the step down lumens is best. Also to conserve battery. Outside of the building you need that strong output.
I showed my wife the output of the MH25 Pro, and she said you could burn something with that. Well, that got me thinking. I shone the flashlight through a magnifying glass, and I was amazed at how it burned a hole through the paper. Nitecore could turn this into a survival tool that can start a fire in a pinch.
I would use it at night when i get called out at night to a rough area. Im not allowed any weapons, so a quality torch would be awesome. My P30I is harder to fit in my pocket. I would love the MH12 Pro.
These should be made as a tactical flashlight with 1 handed operation and strobe ready features. It is disappointing why Nitecore didn't make it that way especially when the performance, both runtime and beam, just dominates something like the SRT7i. I hope these pro model performance gets integrated to the tactical lights soon. I am in the market for a nice, mixed beam tactical light with good runtimes.
This has a tactical mode that allows for instant strobe or turbo. But no one handed operation, you are correct. These are made to be more of an EDC light than tactical. They know they're getting beat by Olight and Streamlight for tac lights.
Hi i work in the forest alot... And would like a torch with either a zoom option or a long range one! Would also like it to be bright! Any recommendations?
Currently using a pd35 Fenix working at a paper mill. Feel like I have to constantly recharge the battery. The mh12 pro looks like my next flashlight. Hello from Pennsylvania
As a forensics officer with SPF, a good torchlight is equivalent to god’s help especially in low light conditions when we are searching for forensics evidence. This torchlight would definitely be helpful in the recovery and preservation of forensics evidence found at scene by allowing us to be visually aware of the surroundings and not accidentally touch it under low lightings. Using just the handphone flash isn’t suffice as the light is not concentrated and cumbersome due to its bulkiness. After using MH25S, it is really a game changer and a worthwhile investment.. I hope I am able to win this newer series to continue in the recovery of forensic evidence at scene due to its monstrous capabilities 👍🏻
I'm a medical helicopter pilot and used a MH1A for the last 12 years. I lost it last week and looking to replace it; thinking about the MH12 Pro or the P10iX. Looks like the big difference is the MH12 Pro has about 2.5 times the throw.
I want to buy a flashlight. Can you recommend the MT2C Pro? How does it compare with the MH12 Pro? I want to know which one is a better deal and which one is more practical.
Nitecore lights are getting better and better. it would be an upgrade to my MH12S and MH25S. i bought the MH12S for my wife for her EDC lights. And for myself, i have the MH25S for my work light. has been serving me for the past 2.5 years. Been waiting for this video review on these two lights. Amazing and detailed explanation by MJ. Much love for your videos. I want these lights.🥲
Unless I missed it you forgot to say it has a strobe mode, the online manual says it has it. Also I’m unsure why the 12 is listed as having a 2 hour longer run time in 1200 lumens compared to the 25, that seems odd, if anything it should be the opposite. They look like good flashlights and suit my needs, the 12 needs an orange safety beacon that fits it though.
Would the tail cap from the SRT 7I work on this or would that interfere with these side switch on the new pro models? Working the night shift i switched to Nitecore almost 2 years ago with the MH12S because of the convenient holster it comes with that i still use.
Which is better for I guess edc security duty patrol the mh12 pro or the p23i and can you swap the p23i battery with a 5300mah battery to get better run times
@@carrot5570 P23i is better for the instant strobe function, many swear by it to get attention of others. It brings your intent across easily. Compared to mh12 pro where there’s no way to do that. But if you don’t need to signal others and you’re more on a solo patrol duty then the mh12 pro is better for its MUCH longer runtime and beam distance.
These lights would be amazing for my new warehouse job I already used the MH 12 v2 and it’s amazing for my everyday tasks now I wanna see how these would preform
i use torches by nitecore on my abandoned mine explores. I use the TM20K for photos as it has 20000lumen output at short bursts and I have just recieved a MH25 pro for distance. love nitecore torches
If the difference between the two lights is the bezel, why dies the MH25 Pro last 2,5h on 1200lm and the MH12Pro 4,5h? That does not make much sense to me.
The MH25 Pro is listed with 2,5h at 1200 lumen and the MH12 Pro with 4,5 at 1200 lumen. Since they are identical, why is that? Is that a mistake on the page?
Hi, and thank you very much for your fantastic videos. Do you think that charging the battery with these FAST chargers we all have lately with our phones would reduce the life time of our nitecore batteries or damage them. Thanks you !
Nobody answered your question yet. Heat & cold are _both_ enemies of all battery technology. So far, anyway. If you have a desire to get the maximum life-span of your li-ion cells, or even ni-cads or ni-mh, then prepare to charge such at the low to medium charge amperage, mAh input. This keeps the cells cooler. _That_ is what you really want. Don't fall for the _quick-charge_ gimmick. That is a marketing ploy.. When more & more electric cars catch fire during _fast charging_ ... people will finally get wise. For our high-powered lights, the best advice that I can give for longer life is to get plenty of_extra_ batteries and charge them all low & slow, OUTSIDE OF THE FLASHLIGHT BODY. I do this & simply swap in the freshly charged cells as needed. Get a quality charger to accomplish your charging needs.
Another reviewer showed it. Tactical mode will allow mode memory for strobe. Leave it on strobe, and when you momentary or click the tailcoat it is on.
Nitecore’s been releasing some🔥products, one right after another! Love your channel and all the tech specs and details you go through! But I really appreciate that you film each product’s performance in multiple different real world settings, all from the user’s POV! Being able to see the beam shape, throw, spill, and actual real world performance of each light is super helpful. Especially when you do your visual comparisons of similar products. Cause it’s so damn hard to choose sometimes lol.
I compared the mh25pro with the p23i. The p23i hurts your eyes much more, than the mh25pro because of the colder light. Even if it has much less candela. Everyone who is interested in self defense should know that!
Hi @Nightwalker Gear. I would like to know: Who are the main buyers of these types of flashlights? I am considering selling them. Can you detail the market segment of these buyers?
I do security on a construction site at night, the mh25 pro i use for long distance, i am considering the mh12 also, i was hoping you could do a comparison of the mh25 pro and the new p30i if possible Thank you
They’re both pretty similar, both mixed. The MH12S just has a cleaner tint at lower brightness. The MH12 PRO is not true white at lower lumens. Something they should fix in later versions
Amazing lights and would use this not for my profession since am an IT guy but use smaller nitecore lights at the offices :) this would be for emergency bag or outdoors use during camping and hikes
Only Nitecore have the assortment of flashlight I encounter. They have every lighting solutions. From the flood P20iX, P10iX, MH12 compact 1800 lumens on a compact 21500 gemeric battery which is more commonly available. You also have the SRT series which is I think is really good. Especially the SRT7i. You have every control on the tailcap. You dont have to tap to keep adjusting the light itself.
Off topic but I'm liking the direction Nitecore is going with their proprietary LED units. I am still finding the EDC27's UI to be the best for my use case compared to the MH12SE and P20ix, EDC27 took the cake. If Nitecore can update the EDC27 for 2024 maybe the EDC27 Pro or something maybe put a single UHi with the same 3000 or upgraded 3300 lumens output but with even better battery life, I'd buy it instantly. It doesn't need the twin emitters like the twin SST40 just a single UHi emitter with the same output or better to keep the price in the same range as the older model it'll be perfect. But if they turn it into a tiny monster and make it spew out 6000 lumens for 10 seconds or for strobe I'll be happy too. Also I hope they add some sort of crenulation to the head to protect the lens. I'm already on my 2nd EDC27, the first one got lost while riding at night in the rain, probably slid out of my rain pants pocket and didn't notice it fall because of the hectic situation it's not the built-in clip's fault; it's my stupid unaware ass. Even if I just bought a second EDC27, I'll happily buy an updated one for next year IF EXISTS AND IF it comes out. It has nowhere to go but move forward and keep improving. As long as it's reasonably priced twin dual stage tail switches are simply *chef's kiss*.
@@NitecoreSG You could also buy a mid 5 digit test kit. Which I don't need for my applications. It might be necessary for others though. I don't know everything. ;)
No, these need the NITECORE NL2153HP battery to function as advertised. $24.99 each, & if you buy 6 you can get them for about $22 each, last time I checked...
Still miss a new version of my beloved SRT5. I used a MH12, the old version as an EDC for a while, but it wasn't for me. I want something multicolor that I can adjust in the dark without looking at it and get the correct color and brightness. But the MH12Pro does look like a feasible option
I have both and they are great but the P20IX is the best for defense with 4k lumens but main reason is the instant strobe switch on the back and not on the side which takes longer to activate
@NitecoreSG Two more question and I'm sold. U said it fits the NTH10 holster, is it a perfect fit? And also, for a jail setting, indoors, dorm like sitting etc.. and being flood and spot. Would this work good? Thank you for your help. Must appreciated
as my father is in police Coast Guard (pcg) he needs a light to shine far to see objects and shipped for rescue and search at night he had the p30 that he got for his birthday but he lost it so the mh25 pro will be a good replace ment for it
I bought the mh12 pro for my mom because she is a retired Tampa police officer of 36 years and she lives at home alone with three dogs in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee with limited sight. Possibly making it a larger heatsink, but should be fine the amount of testing they do unless you not giving it a good chance to cool down after turbo

But if you don’t need to signal others and you’re more on a solo patrol duty then the mh12 pro is better for its MUCH longer runtime and beam distance.
How does it compare to the p20ix?
These lights would be amazing for my new warehouse job I already used the MH 12 v2 and it’s amazing for my everyday tasks now I wanna see how these would preform
I really need a good flashlight like these! Could be really useful for my job!
When do you think the p20/p23 get the “PRO” treatment?
Would love to see nitecore come out with a version of the MH12 pro that has dual tactical tail switch. Kinda like Fenix did with the pd36r pro.
They’ll probably do it with the P series. Gotta wait a bit.
Great and reliable tools and never regretted buying this flashlight. I very like new led technology and features.🙂🙂🙂
Cant wait to get one for work
i use torches by nitecore on my abandoned mine explores. I use the TM20K for photos as it has 20000lumen output at short bursts and I have just recieved a MH25 pro for distance. love nitecore torches
10:49 what is this powerbank brand and model???
Shargeek storm2 slim
@@Technician_One Thank you for the answer, and for taking the time.. God bless you!
Yet to get a Nitecore. But am interested in this model as its compact, got some tactical features and great for edc.
is there a way to turn on strobe quickly using the tailcap?
Another reviewer showed it. Tactical mode will allow mode memory for strobe. Leave it on strobe, and when you momentary or click the tailcoat it is on.
what's the price
Can use double a batteries?
Why would you want to do that ?
@@Stoater1 AA batteries?
Does the bezel break glass on either of those lights?
Does not, they have no glass breaking beads
Nitecore’s been releasing some🔥products, one right after another!
Love your channel and all the tech specs and details you go through!
But I really appreciate that you film each product’s performance in multiple different real world settings, all from the user’s POV! Being able to see the beam shape, throw, spill, and actual real world performance of each light is super helpful. Especially when you do your visual comparisons of similar products. Cause it’s so damn hard to choose sometimes lol.
Got it! Appreciate the feedback, will def add more POV shots across different lights
I compared the mh25pro with the p23i. The p23i hurts your eyes much more, than the mh25pro because of the colder light. Even if it has much less candela. Everyone who is interested in self defense should know that!
Is p23i the best for self defense or p20ix? I am looking to buy my first nitecore and will use it against attackers.
Yes! Definitely go with p23i @@rmcf3972
I haven't had one of these lights yet, but I would use it daily. I have found that this form factor is great for EDC.
Hi @Nightwalker Gear. I would like to know: Who are the main buyers of these types of flashlights? I am considering selling them. Can you detail the market segment of these buyers?
I do security on a construction site at night, the mh25 pro i use for long distance, i am considering the mh12 also, i was hoping you could do a comparison of the mh25 pro and the new p30i if possible
Thank you
As long as you are doing your job "at night," then you could definitely use either of these bright masterpieces. Lol.
I’d use the MH25 pro as a duty light
Would u say the MH12 or MH25 is better then Seeker 4?
Which has more of a mixed beam MH12s or MH12 pro?
Does anyone know the expected CRI out of these?
Oh then you’re gonna be happy with the upcoming lineup! There’s 2 or 3 models based off improvements from the EDC27. Look out for them!
I bought it as a quick way to test fiberoptic cables. With enough intensitiy you directly see if the fibers are good or not.
Wow I didn’t know there was such a use case. Thanks for sharing!
@@NitecoreSG You could also buy a mid 5 digit test kit. Which I don't need for my applications. It might be necessary for others though. I don't know everything. ;)
Why not keep the MH12/25 the same lumen output as the EDC33/35? I thought the EDC was just the tail light button version of the MH's
Are these work well with the standard 5000mAh Nl2150 batteries?
No, these need the NITECORE NL2153HP battery to function as advertised. $24.99 each, & if you buy 6 you can get them for about $22 each, last time I checked...
I use it for spot checks as a building security guard!
I run the Fenix PD 25R and PD 25 for edc and work.
Both seem like some awesome lights 👍👍
If everything is the same besides the diameter of the bezel, why is there such a big difference in runtime?
it dims put i doesnt got back to turbo again
Still miss a new version of my beloved SRT5. I used a MH12, the old version as an EDC for a while, but it wasn't for me. I want something multicolor that I can adjust in the dark without looking at it and get the correct color and brightness. But the MH12Pro does look like a feasible option
I have both and they are great but the P20IX is the best for defense with 4k lumens but main reason is the instant strobe switch on the back and not on the side which takes longer to activate
Is 1200 lum mode stabilized on 12pro and 25pro both? Or reducing brightness after some time due to overheating?
Have using Original MH25 as night security since 2017. Hasn't failed me...YET but MH25 Pro would be nice upgrade....
Can you swap batteries on the MH25 Pro?
Yes you can, it’s replaceable
Sweet ! Do use them to protect the animals in the palace
i have the mh12 v2 and its been by daily carry every night for night walks, would love to see how the pro version beats the v2 out of the box!
Do you review Fenix or other brands??
Other brands yes but I haven’t got any fenix models yet
Thank you for the reply. Comprehensive review. I went with a pd36rv2 in the end. Suggest indexing the video
I have the MH12 SE. I bought the MH12 Pro for its better features!
Looks like the MH12 Pro is a spot with a flood? Is that correct?
Mixed beam, yes
@NitecoreSG Two more question and I'm sold. U said it fits the NTH10 holster, is it a perfect fit? And also, for a jail setting, indoors, dorm like sitting etc.. and being flood and spot. Would this work good? Thank you for your help. Must appreciated
Which p series are you talking about In end of video ?
Maybe I am not aware of those
P10i, P20i, those series
as my father is in police Coast Guard (pcg) he needs a light to shine far to see objects and shipped for rescue and search at night he had the p30 that he got for his birthday but he lost it so the mh25 pro will be a good replace ment for it
Can these be carried in carry-on luggage in the airline cabin?
Carry on, been switching the P23i and EDC27 for EDC and travelled with both. No problems with carry on.
For Canada which site we use to make purchase?
We do ship worldwide from www.nitecorelights.com
4 months since video, do we yet know which diffuser / wand attachment to buy for 12PRO. Thanks.
Yes, they just released a 26mm specific filters for the MH12 pro. NFR26 and so on.
@@NitecoreSG thanks for the response.
