I didn't care for Gideon and I love necromancer books. Another great video!

I ended up giving it 3 stars. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

I loved Ninth House. It's not for everyone and starts slow, but I liked it.

Another book haul, YAY! I'm planning on doing a MASSIVE book haul on IGTV once all my February pre-orders get here! I'm really excited to see what you picked up:
Ooh, I haven't heard about Meg Cabot in YEARS. My twin sister used to be a huge fan of her books, so there's a certain nostalgia that I have with her work. I had no idea she was still writing and publishing, but I think it's really cool that she wrote a graphic novel!
Wow, "Scars Like Wings" sounds like a really heavy-hitting YA contemporary, which is right up my alley! I've never heard of it before, but I'm definitely interested! Your channel has become my go-to for obscure, over-looked books, and after watching your videos, there's always numerous books that I'm interested in and will buy when I find them.
Ooh, "Ninth House!" I read that in December and absolutely LOVED it! It was definitely dark, and a times a very difficult read, but Leigh Bardugo definitely delivered! I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on it, whenever you get around to it!
I've loved every Victoria/V.E. Schwab book I've read so far! I haven't read the "City of Ghosts" series yet, but it's definitely one that I'm very interested in! I hope you enjoy it!
I've heard a lot about Jennifer L. Armentrout but I've never actually sat down and read one of her books before. I'm glad you enjoyed "Storm and Fury."
"Nocturna" definitely sounds like a really intriguing and interesting fantasy! It's the kind of fantasy story that's been done before, but that I can't help but read anyway. I've never heard of it before, but I look forward to hearing your opinion on it nonetheless!
I've heard really interesting things about Alex Flinn's books, but never read anything by them! The synopsis you gave sounds cute, though, so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you get around to reading it!
"The Moon Voyage" sounds like the perfect book for me, as I've always been interested in space. I've read very few classics, but the few that I have read, I've really enjoyed! That cover looks really beautiful!
"There Will Come a Darkness" sounds like the kind of character-driven fantasy I'd really enjoy! The beginning of the synopsis sounds really lush, vivid and poetic and the rest of it sounds really fascinating!
I've heard about "Gideon the Ninth" before. It's been a book that I've had some interest in reading for a while now, so I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it. The premise sounds interesting, and it's got representation, so I'm currently leaning towards buying it, but I trust your recommendations, so I'll wait and see! The sprayed edges are absolutely beautiful, though!
Great haul, once again! Happy reading!
    Regards,
    Matthew

Lol, You are not the first person to say that I am who they go to for obscure books. :p
My son and I both absolutely love the City of Ghosts series. It is so incredibly well written like all of Victoria/V.E Schwabs books. I've had the chance to meet her twice, once at the Decatur Book Festival (didn't get a picture with her though cause she was coming down with something at the time and didn't want to get people sick) and a second time at BEA (I did get a picture with her that time and posted it on my IG).
Storm and Fury was so good! Loved that book and want to read all of her other books now.
Gideon the Ninth was just ok for me. Even on this video I have had one person comment that they loved it and one say thatthey didn't like it. I fell in the middle with it. It didn't blow me away, but I didn't hate it either. I ended up giving it 3 stars. As far as the queer rep goes, it was pretty lackluster. That play such a short small part in the book though the hype made it seem like it would be so much more.

That's so awesome that you were able to meet V.E. Schwab twice! I'm really interested in "Storm and Fury" now! And thanks for your honest opinion of Gideon the Ninth. I think I'll pass, since a large part of why I was interested in it, was for the representation as well as the dark, magical elements.
By the way, I've now ordered "A Curse So Dark and Lonely!" Book Outlet delivers yet again in terms of good deals! I'm excited for it to arrive, and hopefully it'll be the one re-telling that I really like, since everyone seems to love it!

@@MatthewReadsAndWrites I gave both A Curse so Dark and Lonely and A Heart so Fierce and Broken 5 stars. I know everyone that I buddy read it with also gave them both 5 stars. I hope you love it too. I can't wait to hear your thoughts once you have read it. :)

Thanks! I'll be sure to share my thoughts in an IGTV video once I've read the book! It is definitely comforting that everyone has given it 5 stars! I'll also have a book haul up on IGTV once all my February pre-orders arrive! It'll be 42+ books, which will be my biggest haul ever!
Thanks for always introducing me to new books, and for inspiring me to pick up a few books I would never have picked up on my own accord!

@@MatthewReadsAndWrites Wow, that is going to be a big haul. Remind me what your IGTV channel is called? I never really watch IGTV, but I will check it out. Just out of curiosity, are you able to place ads and stuff like on TH-cam so that you can make some money on there?
