✰ Where are you from? I'm originally from England but moved to Adelaide, Australia when I was 9 years old. I also spent 2 years living in Toronto when I finished high school which is why the accent is a bit all over the place 😅

Seeing you and Nick and Mabel enjoying life as a little happy family brings so much joy! And is very inspiring to see how hard you've both worked to get to where you are. So true, we should take a second to appreciate our present situation to not miss it.

I think if you put something there it will feel cluttered.
I would put a big frame of art work there as that would make the spot feel more filled (then if still feels empty play with the area)
Or also you could put two big ish side by side photo frames on that wall with either colour or black and white photos from your wedding day in them ❤
And the wall behind you/ behind coffee table I would put art work or depending what you decide on the empty spot wall I think 3 different photos from your wedding day all lined up on that back wall would be super beautiful. x

You are so right! It’s a beautiful thing to live in and appreciate the now. We are all guilty of always looking to the future. We are blessed for sure! The house is looking so great! I feel like the swivel chair would look better more in the corner, like a little nook, and maybe the lamp beside it? (So TV unit, chair in corner then lamp beside chair on other side). And a design principal I learned once is one, three or six, not two or four when it comes to artwork (something about balance?).
If you’re planning on having kids in this house then I HIGHLY recommend leaving the corner empty. Just put up a mirror or a nice artwork for now. We had a living room a similar size when having our kids and it gets cramped very quickly, the more space the better ❤
The tree will provide some beautiful shade in summer, little picnics out back 🤩

Okay, hear me out. Is it possible to move the TV to the smaller wall to the left and turn the couch so the back is to the sliding glass and up to the wall. It may give more room around the kitchen and area but unsure about where the chair would go.
I like your idea! I just think the couch would be too wide for the space and not really be centred with the tv on the small wall, if that makes sense? I might try it though and see haha
