That combat playtest was EPIC!
Still looking forward to all the ancestries and monsters that will be available in order to populate our group's in-progress world of Ambrosia to coincide with the MCDM game. Hoping to have more videos out about it soon.
When the next Patreon playtest comes, I'll make more episodes talking in detail about classes and ancestries :)
Thanks for the video! Havent been able to keep up recently, this is really useful for catching up.
Glad it was helpful!
Cool! I've been curious about its progress and this is exactly what I was looking for!
Glad to hear it!
Awesome video! May I ask what the font you used for the thumbnail is?
Don Schepis is actually a dev on the Pinnacle (Savage Worlds) team, he's done work on Savage Pathfinder and at least two of the Companions (genre toolkit books)--probably more, that's just what I can confirm with a quick look through my PDFs.
Oh, really? I had no idea! That's super cool
I think we have seen a Hakaan, the Pillar of Ten Thousand Years in the Talent fiction (the strong lady that turns to steel and holds the boulder above her head). There was also Koh in Dusk, but that was before and they might have changed things as they developed them for the RPG.
True, the Pillar was a Hakaan! But, IIRC, they are changing the look of the ancestry, so the Pillar might already be outdated.
Mind if I ask a question?
Regarding minion squads, how does that work in regards to area of effect attacks? Do they take the damage only once? Or do they take damage per minion in the area?
Good question... I don't know, actually! I'll try to find out the answer
@@the_dice_society I just saw your latest vid. How did it work in your latest playtest?
@@matthewvillanueva4420 In the current iteration it seemed like the squad took damage per minion in the area! I wasn't running the session, however, so I can't be sure
I really love MCDM but the more I learn about the game the less I am interested in it. A real shame as I appreciate what matt has done for rpgs in general. Still, I hope it will be successful. I might actually buy it once it is finished but doubt that I'll ever play it. But who knows?
The game is for sure not for everyone, you shouldn't feel bad if you don't like it! However, if you buy it, I'd recommend giving it a try. You really can't judge a game just by reading its rules.
@the_dice_society I backed it because thus far I like what MCDM has done. Haven't had the energy to keep up with the development though (apart from the occasional Q&A and now this pod/vodcast)
Figured though that at worst it'd become a game to inspire me with some ideas/houserules/lore for whatever game/system I am running. At best it will form the base for whatever I import from other games/systems.
And if i want to play again it gives me more options to choose from.
