  • Bike & Ride has made combining a bike ride with your bus trip easy, environmentally friendly and a healthy way to get around the city.
This video provides information about bike racks on ACTION buses and demonstrates in five easy steps how you can use them correctly.
Most Blue Rapid and Red Rapid services are equipped with bike racks. Due to operational requirements, some buses on the rapid routes may not be fitted with bike

Well done ACT. Transport for NSW needs to change the technical specifications to allow these in NSW.

I believe telling the driver that your going to take the bike off the bus when you get off is better for the driver.

How Far it from our reality... Our buses riding like big street racers, hunting for passengers. How could it be, i cant realise)

What if the bike falls off and the bus runs over it?

As a rider who rides the buses everyday with a bike, I can assure you, that the racks keep the bike fully secured. The only things that would be at risk of falling off, and getting run over are accessories you may forget to take off the bike before boarding, more small accessories that could fall off from large vibrations; for example: unsecured bike pumps, drink cans in one of the bottle holders, stuff like that.
The only issue with the racks is the risk of someone getting injured from them, like what happened a few years ago in NSW - the reason they're illegal there.
The only reason I could think a bike would fall out is if the rider didn't put the arm over the wheel, and the bus driver hits the brakes really hard upon stopping.

+Sylvan Lawrenz I see a lot of people complaining about the bikes falling under the bus while moving. One guy got killed taking his bike off the rack. Bus ran him over.
