Good choice. I carry one too. I'm glad you found something that fits with your setup. One of my long time friends has been wheelchair bound (since I met him). I know there are challenges with wheelchair carry.
Thank you so much for the demo. Literally nobody ever shows how well a pistol fits in the pocket. Now I have an idea of what I'm getting into. It's definitely something they won't let you try at the gun store.
I bought my GX4 three weeks ago and a Sticky SM5 the same day. I am a sign contractor and work in a bucket truck, ladders, etc. I wear the pistol, IWB-appendix, with this holster 99% of the day, even driving, unless crawling into attic spaces or places like that. It stays put. I do prefer the Blackhawk Tec-Grip over the Sticky, but this holster has worked fine for three weeks now. The only problem, as with ALL “against-the-skin” carry is the sweat issue. Since we all sweat out salt water, this will eventually corrode exposed parts of the gun. The Sticky leaves the back of the slide and the mag release exposed to the skin, so that is an issue. I just try to keep the gun wiped off and I will clean corrosion off as necessary. Small price to pay for 11 +1 “peace of mind.”
I pocket carry the GX4 using the Black Scorpion W2 holster. I got the pinky extenders on the mags . I usually wear Wrangler Cargo Pants. I like the holster because it stays in place when I draw.
Great reviews as always, i like your mindset and preparedness. Not alot of people put any deep thought into the idea of carrying scenarios and clothing and possible occurrences in a firefight. Glad to see im not the only one. Over prepared is underated
I confirm, back with the G19C, now a modification needed for G3C but couldn't find the right person to consult me and maybe tailor-fit it. But I have an idea though. Sticky's awesome, wearing denim or cargo+belt works perfectly as the person above mentioned! Plus boss, very excellent reference to the break-in of such holsters!
I just watched this...again. I watched and liked it early spring, and I thought I'd even commented, but evidently not. So, late or not, here's my 2¢... The Taurus GX4 has been my EDC since March. I'm happy with it: the ergonomics, the trigger, the size, the capacity, everything. (Well, I'm not in love with the sights, but they're serviceable, and if need be, upgradeable.) I may yet pick up the 13-round mag, but the two 11-round mags it came with give me good round capacity, and make the pistol eminently concealable. I can't get much of my pinky on the grip, but I can make that work. But the pistol isn't the whole of the equation. For pocket carry, the full equation is: the right pistol + in the right pocket holster + in the right pants. So my personal application of that equation principle is: Taurus GX4 + DeSantis Nemesis holster (#N38BJB2Z0) + Coleman's canvass utility pants. Works great for me. The holster's outer texture grips the pocket lining well, as does the "hook." The draw is smooth & quick, and the holster stays put. The pockets on the Coleman's are larger and deeper than on jeans, so even less printing and great concealment. And the angle of the "mouth" (opening) of the pocket makes for easy access to the firearm with no "monkey fist phenomenon" when grabbing your gun in the pocket. The pants also have side utility pockets on the right leg, the outer pocket being a good depth for the spare magazine.
Those things are a great option & that’s what we need is as many options as possible. Exploring a different mode of carry always takes some training & behavior changes on our part. Great job brother!
Picked up my GX4 yesterday from the FFL. As a matter of fact I bought it with the intent of pocket carry as a backup. I think it is a feasible pocket carry pistol but it will depend on your pocket size obviously. It’s easy to handle and shoot with the 11 round magazines. I have ordered 2 13 round and 1 11 round with the pinky extension but they haven’t shipped yet. I also have sticky holsters for Glock 42 and 43. They work good.
I’ve only put 20 rounds through it at the FFL/Gun Range. I’m definitely pleased with the purchase. I’m waiting on my Forged Tech holster 😂. You are making me spend money 💰, just kidding.
Hey. Had to go back and watch this again. It's a year later and my local runnings has this weapon for 249$ down about a hundred. Thinking about picking one up. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Sticky holsters for the win!! When I can't open carry, my backup pistol is a P232 kept in my pocket. I was most impressed that the Sticky allows for smooth draw with no snagging once it has warmed up or been broken in. It does take just a bit for the holster to form with the gun, but after trying Stickys against my body and in the pocket, I have not used anything else for concealing. Both ways are extremely comfortable, which is a nice change from a bulky or rough leather holster inside the waistband.
I got the SM-5 sticky holster. I didn't like how tight it was. I exchanged it for a MD-1. I like the fit much better... Gun comes out clean. I also second an earlier comment that the sticky holsters make great inside the waistband holsters. Minimal elastic in your waistband is needed because they are "sticky".
Thx for the video. I usually use a kydex iwb holster, but use the sticky holster sometimes including a cargo pocket or jacket pocket. JM4 makes an awesome leather holster that uses a magnet. I actually cut down the one I had for my 43x to fit my gx4.
I bought the MD-2 Sticky holster for my GX4. It's just a little big, but works well for pocket carry. I just ordered a SM-5 to see how it works for IWB carry. Thanks for the nice review. If your range day goes anything like mine, I think you'll be very happy with the GX4. I find mine to be easy to produce nice groups at ten yards.
FWIW I've been carrying a Kahr CM9 in a Remora pocket holster for years. The pistol always draws cleanly, and the holster never comes out. I'm saying the holster totally remains inside the pocket. From what I've seen, I'd highly recommend the Remora Holster over the Sticky. Thanks for the demonstration!
Amazing gun. Can't wait til someone does a FULL (frame) disassembly/assembly video. Looks like the chassis is sheet metal (and I think possibly designed even better than the P365). Still got a lot to see before I can make that determination (opinion) as a "fact" or not... but either way, it seems like a very well designed gun. I think the P365 has some design flaws and unnecessary complications. Really appreciate the videos (and the channel). Have learned a lot from you.
Great video as always! I’m looking forward to your next video, regarding the tiny wiggle movement in the base of the extended magazine. I bought 15 round mags for my G3C and they do the same thing. Looking forward to the next ones! Thank you brother!👍🏻
Thanks for the video, you really made me sure about my Taurus g3 toro purchase and I’m very happy with it. With your insight and break in 400 rounds in not one failure. Now that MD is shall issue I was considering going with glock 43x or 26 but just like glock lovers I think I’m stuck on Taurus, price and value for starting off is unbeatable.
I have mine in my pocket right now... I can use the 13 or 11 but its easier with the 11. Use my Alien Gear at 4:30 most of the time but decided to use a sleeve and pocket carry today just to see how it would go... just like my Ruger LCP II 380. Yep, works great
Sticky holsters are nice and can be used in pocket carry but are intended to be used IWB carry. Whole Guns has an SM-5 grip holster (same as sticky) on ebay for half the price, including shipping.
I pocket carry a g2s with a sticky or the remora, the sticky holds a bit better in the pocket, remora is great for IWB. Side note - get a pair of propper tactical pants - great pockets, I sometimes pocket carry my Ruger p95, fits great in the sticky holster in these pants with no printing.
Really like my Sticky holster, currently carrying my G3 in one and gave my son the G2 also with a Sticky holster. I carry middle back inside the waistband most of the time, it works great but on really hot days it tends to sweat my back a little.
I have used a sticky holster for my sig p238 every day for about 3 years it's held up great and has served me well. also, I will note that it took a few days to break in and after that it drawed just fine with sweatpants even basketball shorts.
I think those elastic belt band holsters are an often overlooked option. Of course they're great for shorts or sweatpants, but you can conceal it more by wearing it low. You can even wear them under arm like a shoulder holster, and outside your pants. I would use the over any form of pocket carry, pocket carry isn't my thing other than for like a derringer type gun.
@@2aEdu They're definitely more commonly used by women. I even use it with jeans, whether I have a belt or not. Everyone should try it at least once. Keep up the good fight!
I've tried the Sticky holsters and they seem to get slick very fast and don't stay in the pocket well. I agree with regarding the Remoras, great pocket or IWB holster.
I use a Sticky holster (MD-4 i believe), for my G3C EDC, that i bought from the Taurus site. I like it, but it seems to be wearing rather quickly. However, I think they will replace it under their lifetime warranty...? I think yours will work from the pocket once it is worn in. At first, I was worried about the holster coming out with the gun, even though I use it IWB. But, it has never happened. Always works well. I normally wear Dickies work shorts and sometimes just drawstring waist workout shorts.
Awesome video. Quick question, not that I think it matters too much but what is your opinion on the chamber having less than average chamber support. Graham bates did a pretty good video on it so I’m basing my assumptions off his video. I don’t think many people will carry hand loaded rounds but I’m wondering more about the repeated use of plus p rounds over time. What is your opinion on this? Would you get a different barrel in the future for a better chamber support? I’d love to hear your input! Great video as always
You could also get a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster for an lc9s that will work for you gx4. It definitely higher quality than sticky holsters and print less.
Tried pocket carry with a Kahr CM9. For me, men's relaxed-fit jeans were just not big enough. Opted for a velcro ankle holster. Use exclusively as a backup like yourself.
I have 3 or 4 pocket holsters, the one that came with my Springfield Hellcat works well as does my Crimson Trace pocket holster and as said by someone else, they both work great as IWB holsters between a Shirt and the waistband of my Jean's they stay put
Thanks for all the valuable info 2A! Personally I've never been a fan of pocket carry, I think I'll stick with my iwb carry. I've tried in the pocket before and I just find it easier to draw from iwb.
I chose pocket carry because my place of work required a tucked in shirt and close proximity to other folks. Also I have been diagnosed with severe arthritis in both shoulders with limited range of motion pocket carry helps.
Thank you for doing this pocket carry review! I was wondering about the gx4 for dedicated pocket carry. Looks like its a good choice for that. I agree about the 11 round mags, not sure which one I want. Think I may buy one of these for pocket. Looking forward to range review.
This is an old comment, but I’m curious, the md-6 says it is for snub nose revolvers? Does the gx4 fit in it tightly? And would there be room for a 1/4” longer barrel(lakeline ported)
We seem to have the same build more or less. I’m new to carrying and was wondering for IWB do you go up a pant size for comfort and fit. Also what position is most comfortable for you? My primary carry is a P01 which is pretty large. I just bought a GX4 and the same sticky holster to try pocket carry. Looking forward to picking it up.
I am waiting to get a Forged Tec IWB holster for my GX4. I wear the same pants size. Especially for a small pistol. I like to carry OWB with shirt covering it. Unless I'm working, then usually pocket carry, but sometimes IWB.
I pocket cary my lcp2 in the "stock" holster it comes with and I just youse 2 fingers to push down on that little pocket keeper thing on the bottom of the holster when I draw. And I don't have a problem with the holster leaving my pocket. Lol and that's when I'm in sweat paints/ running paints/ shorts etc. Lol
I have used the Sticky holster for years with my M&P Shield. If I wear Duluth Fire hose pants or shorts, the pockets work really good. I find that most pants have pockets with have a stitching near the top of the pocket that grab the gun and slow down the draw. The Duluth pockets work awesome. The pocket is sewn in and cannot come out with the holster and I can one hand draw very fast. One problem with the gun in my right pocket is, it is next to impossible to draw with my support hand. I'm gonna buy another Sticky holster soon. All of the pants you used in this video were the wrong type of pants for the Sticky. Fat guys will find the sticky holster great, because fat and concealed are not comparable. Also suspenders make Appendix, or 3 o'clock carry even worst because your shirt is tucked in. You skinny guys have more options for sure.
I just noticed Taurus finally released the TORO slide conversion for the g3c, will you plan on doing this conversion to yours, in the future? I am tempted with mine and I havent fired a single round through it yet hah.
I already have, and have done reviews on my G3c TORO. I just posted a community post though..... I bought the conversion kit as well to do a video for you all.
have you seen any of the videos of the gx4 where the striker doesn't fall when you pull the trigger but then it falls later very dangerous even if its just a few guns, shouldn't be a thing
I saw a video like that. When pulling trigger incorrectly, and may have broken something pulling it that way? I don't know? I can only show what I experience. And the trigger has never acted up on me. Not even once.
i have one for the g3 i used it for an iwb and it works in gym shorts until my crossbreed came personally i dont care for a primary gun in pocket i like iwb strong side but it would do better with that gx4 looking forward to your livestream tonight as always i chat alot before the show during i kinda sit back and watch
I literally can't pocket carry. I have a nerve issue from a spinal fusion surgery, I'm rt handed and if I put anything in my rt pocket, it makes my thigh go numb. I can only appendix carry due to batteries in my lower back which also cause hip discomfort. I bought the gx4 specifically for summer carry. Hopefully someone makes a light for it soon.
I'm not plugging them. I like their firearms. And so do many of my viewers. I do these videos for fun. So I do what I am in the mood to do, and what my viewers want. This video was a viewer request. So there you go 👍
I'm sure everyone is thankful you changed off camera. I'll stick with Paul and Forged Tec holsters. God be with him and his family during this time and loss of their dog.
I’m a wheelchair user, this has been the only pistol I’ve been able to pocket carry. I love it.

This is an old comment, but I’m curious, the md-6 says it is for snub nose revolvers? Does the gx4 fit in it tightly? And would there be room for a 1/4” longer barrel(lakeline ported)
I'm interested in the sticky holster, not sure why but I didn't get a notification on this video but you can't hide from me. 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Glad you found it. 👍 I'm thinking a lot didn't get notifications for this one.
i got the lakeline pinky ext. with the stippling on it then i put the fat hand grip on the gx4 (comes with gun) and man im in love.
Like using my Remora but now have a IWB Safariland Model 27 on the way for the GX4.
Great videos bro , thank you !!!
Thank you 👍
I just had a outside the waistband made by freedom holster
Cool 👍
You’re awesome Man!
Thank you 👍
We seem to have the same build more or less.
Just subscribed ✅ I'll join the team on payday 💪🏾 Stay safe Stay Dangerous 🙏
Thank you!
@@2aEdu keep it coming with the good content fr
I am still waiting for your ankle holster video for the G3 not G3C.
@@Icecream-edible That or a monk robe hahaha
I just noticed Taurus finally released the TORO slide conversion for the g3c, will you plan on doing this conversion to yours, in the future? I am tempted with mine and I havent fired a single round through it yet hah.
I already have, and have done reviews on my G3c TORO. I just posted a community post though..... I bought the conversion kit as well to do a video for you all.
I pocket carry my P938 occasionally, but I think for me, the GX4 is a little big.
I tried a Sticky holster for the P938, but wasn't crazy about it.
I hear you man. Its all a personal choice.
Where is the Forged Tec and range videos? I can't wait!
I did a range video a couple months ago th-cam.com/video/1J6lTKHskz4/w-d-xo.html
Thinh I like about Sticky is it's so universal, iwb any position, ambidextrous, pocket front or back.
Don't forget the sticky belly holster.
Just now getting the g3c and now the 4 comes out I got to find your old video sfor mags and holsters but I'm still here and ...f bi den
Yeah, check my Taurus playlist. Lots of vids on the G3c. The Gx4 and G3c are different pistols. I like them both. Lets Go Brandon!
have you seen any of the videos of the gx4 where the striker doesn't fall when you pull the trigger but then it falls later very dangerous even if its just a few guns, shouldn't be a thing
I saw a video like that. When pulling trigger incorrectly, and may have broken something pulling it that way? I don't know? I can only show what I experience. And the trigger has never acted up on me. Not even once.
Hey buddy I like your videos you look like a average guy where can I get that pinky extension
Thanks man. I got it from shoptaurus I will also be reviewing the Lakeline pinky extension soon.
The holster in this video : amzn.to/3wV5QqQ Clicking on this link earns a commission to help the channel. (With purchase of any item on Amazon)
i have one for the g3 i used it for an iwb and it works in gym shorts until my crossbreed came personally i dont care for a primary gun in pocket i like iwb strong side but it would do better with that gx4 looking forward to your livestream tonight as always i chat alot before the show during i kinda sit back and watch
Great video
Thanks!
Sticky holsters is all I use !!!! ☆☆☆☆☆
I will be reviewing a Forged Tec IWB kydex GX4 holster soon.
Uh-oh. I bet that one lil dislike is from S. Wiki-wiki because she wanted to see you change ON camera lmao 🤣😆
Lol. I BET you are correct 😀😬😉
I GOT THE GX4 TODAY.WITH THE STICKY SM-5 WILL IT BREAK IN.RIGHT NOW EXTREMLY TIGHT FITTING
what kind of holster would you suggest 4 a canik tp9sf?
preferably iwb
If Forged Tec Holsters has one for that model I would suggest them. you can use code 2aEdu to save 5%
Just curious, why do you plug Taurus so much?
Don't get me wrong, they are the most bang for the buck when we are talking handguns. I'm just curious.
I'm not plugging them. I like their firearms. And so do many of my viewers. I do these videos for fun. So I do what I am in the mood to do, and what my viewers want. This video was a viewer request. So there you go 👍
@@2aEdu Okey Dokey!👍🏼
Love my sticky Holsters
Cool 👍
The LCP MAX is about the maximum size for me in cargo pants. I'm 5'10.....195.
This guy sold me on a sticky holster
Great review bro 👍🏽💪🏾
Thank you!
I'm sure everyone is thankful you changed off camera. I'll stick with Paul and Forged Tec holsters. God be with him and his family during this time and loss of their dog.
He is sending me a couple holsters this week. I didn't know he lost his dog.
