As a 16 year old high schooler, it’s really inspirational to see people doing something like this. I’ve always been interested in the business side of things for Pokémon creators and this channel is perfect! Thanks for making these videos, Mystic! ❤
Thanks for sharing the video! Sad to not see more vlogs, but this is also great! Very insightful and honest 🤗 keep it up! And thanks for the cat intro 🤩
You are a legend! I have been watching your content since your first Mystic7 PokemonGo videos. This video is, in my opinion, the best one yet. Thanks for being awesome, inspiring and entertaining! Keep it up and warm regards from the Netherlands.
As someone who’s looking to start their own business I can’t thank you enough for these videos. They are so motivating and helpful. You’re a huge inspiration for me. Love all your channels. Thank you. Wish you all best success. I appreciate you ❤
not even ten min in subbed and it's giving me a push to start selling on whatnot since I did get approved and to start a side business Thank you for making this video and keep up the great work soon you'll be at $10M/year
I appreciate that your morals tell you not to do mystery packs but the money is tempting so cant blame you. been watching since pogo and currently struggling with jobs and just overall what i want to do and this video was a great overall motivator for me personally, thanks for sharing so much about your life between all your channels. truly a good influence for the people.
I’m not gonna lie , mystic I have been watching you for a while now and I always wanted to do waht you do , you were a big inspiration for me and I can’t wait to really start my career because of you’re motivation . I appreciate you and everything you do
with the mystery slabs you could try like a "grade 8" mystery slab and make them super cheap for people to buy whilst letting them have a chance at some cool 8's or some mid 8's. You get my point/idea even though it was a bit poorly explained.
Cool, behind the curtains. The WN stream that I buy from has a mystery slab game. Basically 50 slabs in a box with one or two chase slabs, and each auction win picks a number. You'll clear those slabs in a week if that is what you are trying to do. Not sure if you've delved into other TCGs, but some diversity will protect your revenue stream a bit and give you some new opportunities. Especially with collection buying.
Careful when saying “we were going to fire this employee” on a publicly accessible stream, that could be a claimable offense in California under employment laws. Great video for new viewers interested in the space!
The mystery graded bag is a super interesting idea. I am not super involved with trading card games, so forgive me if this question is silly. How does the cost breakdown work exactly for graded cards? I assume if you buy the card itself then it is easy, just put together the price you paid, cost to grade, package, and ship. What happens if the card is opened by one of yall or on stream or something? Do you separate the graded card from the bulk in some way? Hopefully that makes sense
I know TH-cam and stuff helps.. but a million in sales, but you’re making 15-30% on sales and have 3 employees, an office, shipping, so realistically how much are you actually making? Plus you need to always have inventory, so need to account for inventory costs as well. Doesn’t seem like you’re personally making much money if any at all, unless I’m missing something?
@@filipmichalakpianist sure but that’s my point. I know the title is to feed the TH-cam algorithm and anyone would love to have that many sales, but his current operations seems like it’s actually running at a loss/small profit for him. I’d be willing to bet he makes most of his money (which is probably very very good money) off his TH-cam ads, partnerships, etc than the actual card sales. The card sales seem to act more like an ad to his other products (which is smart). For simple numbers, if he sold 1 million, and let’s say averaged 30% profit margins, that means he made 300k of money he can “use”. That also means he spent 700k at some point in product. So not only did he need to get 700k at some point, but that 300k gets taxed, he has 2 streamers, a warehouse guy, editor(s), an office space, shipping supplies, utilities, etc. that’s a lot of costs (and that doesn’t even include his most expensive cost, which is purchasing of the product) for 300k to cover. I understand there’s credit cards and loans and stuff that can stretch out the costs. But if trying to be self sufficient, another way to look at it is let’s say he did actually make 10k a day each month, that’s about 300k a month (so over 3 million in sales a year) Of that about 270k was spent on product. So he has 30k a month to distribute to all his bills and staff . Him keeping anything less than 9k of that a month is under a 100k yearly salary minus taxes, insurance, etc. but if he did that, not sure how he keeps purchasing the product to flip unless willing to take on debt beyond a month at a time.
@@PMTCards look - all beginnings are super tough for any kind of business. I know of very few companies that go straight to profits. It takes years of establishment etc.. So I think he is doing amazing 🤗
Honest question, do you think you would be where you are at now with this business considering your previous success as a TH-camr? I've been following you since the beginning of the Pokemon Go days and always love the content. It would be interesting to see how someone with no social media presence could grow in a year though.
I have wanted to start a small little mysterybox business just for fun tbh something i can do in my free time as a 16 year old, def taking notes from this video
to the part about you trying to provide product at as best a price as possible but still being profitable.. have you considered a model where you provide the product at cost (or even less), but then offer follow on services/products that have high margin? something to think about.
Its not proffitable unless you live in a city or a place in world where people are crazy about tcg. And even then to break even is insane, this is just a side hussle.
Advice how to get supply ? should i look for a distributor? i just been buying when i find stuff on sale or a good price i could invest in or sell right away.

Clickbait title. Props to him for making it happen, but he’s not taking home 1mill
Exactly plus he lives in and has his office in one of the most expensive parts of LA
1M is the revenue - not his gross profit.
