I have one and I'm 40 years old it's a great truck for us adults too LOL. These are little badasses with a perfect name temper. Because he throws one hell of a temper when I pull that throttle LOL they're actually entry-level Crawlers just on a smaller scale plus you get way more then what you pay for perfect Rock crawler okay everyone have a great day
put wheel weights on the inside the tires on the rim , then drill 2 holes in rim 1 on top & 1 on bottom on hub side , so the air can enter and escape causing the tire to be aired down thus creating a larger contact surface , no weights in rear just air holes , and super firm springs in the rear & medium up front , try that it will blow your mind how well it does , also try and find some hpi moon rover tires , they are super sticky always hook up , used tis set up on my AX-10 scorpion RTR with all metal links & 65 Turn motor & 12 Tooth pinion . , just a thought . sweet video !!!
Nice video, maybe let your son lead the trx4, ha. I think a lot of people have upgraded this little crawler and most of the feed back is good. Good job, Liked and subscribed. John
Excellent detailed video. Love to see that Maiden run over those rocks with your pickup truck and this nes ECX Gen 2. Performs really well. Thank you for all these informations...and excellent quality video.
Plastic Center drive shafts are a weak point on these, they will basically twist due to friction heat. Get you ready to replace with metal 88 mm long drive shafts. Some also claim that the 90mm fits fine.
So after 2 years are you still running it? Just bought 2 of them and upgrades trying to figure out what motor and ecs to run with the fly sky gt5. Waiting for Amazon to bring my 100mm trx shocks. Cant wait to get it completed tires and beaddlocks be here in April lol. Dang pandemic
HI !!!! I got TRX4 Sport to and Temper Gen2 .... and i change tire ... on the TRX4 i put Proline 1.9 Hyrax with beadlock ....and i put the orinal tire (of TRX4) on the Tempest ... lol it's very cool update!!!
Glad to see father and son out together. Also good for the kid to learn,to think where or what is my next move.instead of just full throttle and most rc cars.My question on the temper 2,did you had weights to the front tires,or they just stock out of the box.Great Video,Happy RC.😊
Thanks for the reply on the tires.I have the first one of these crawler and enjoy it a lot.I get with stock battery guessing 40-45 minutes running time. But that is just me.
add a few spacers between the servo screws and the servo screw holder 1/8 inch or so... This moves the servo forward as well as extends the drag link angle so it clears the axle diff. ;) pro tip, crawl on ;)
The manual states to charge for 9 hours. That seems extreme for this size battery. There seems to be no indicator on the charger. What charge times have worked for you
Just bought one of these. Rookie to RC cars. The guys at the shop weren't too helpful. Wanted an extra battery and maybe a longer battery but they said they didn't have any that would fit. What kind of time are you getting out of the battery? What do you recommend as far as battery? Thanks in advance!
Hey man! We get about 20 minutes out of the stock battery. I got a 2s lipo from hobbytown that fit great but you want these dimensions - 38x70mmx20mm. You have some wiggle room on width and height though. The lipo doesn't sit down in the compartment it rests on the ledges if that makes sense. You're looking for anything that's 2s 1500 - 2000mah.
@@Furadi For the lipos, I'm noticing they are 7.4V vs 7.2 for the Nimh. Is that anything that is a concern? Any suggestions for a battery charger? I'm expecting to get more equipment down the road so don't necessarily want to break the bank, but ok future proofing my investments a little bit. This was sort of a trial run with something my 5 year can use too, but I'll probably get something like that Redcat Everest 10 in a few months and maybe a TRX4 down the road.
@@glendayle Only thing to worry about using lipo is that the stock esc doesn't have low voltage cutoff for lipos meaning you can over dishcharge them and they won't charge again. The voltage difference isn't a concern but if you use lipo just stop running the truck at the first sign of power loss to avoid over discharging. You'll also need a lipo charger.
I had the Gen1 for a bit. I just gave it to my friends daughter when I found out they were releasing the Gen2. We have a cardboard crawler track setup inside my apartment. Please let us know what lipo you use for it, if you find one that fits. Thanks.
I actually just picked up a Hobbytown branded 2s "2000" mah. Rage RC part # RGR4212. Fits like a glove! But anything 38x70mm and 20mm tall should work!
With the stock charger it takes a few hours. I hooked it up to my traxxas nimh fast charger and it takes about half an hour. I have a battery charged before the other dies
Great video. Your son has some impressive climbing skills. Good job young man.

Great video, thank you! I’ll be getting one tomorrow thanks to this video
That looks like a smaller version of a RC4WD Bully2. It sure does amazingly well. Might just have to get one for my grandsons.

Very good looking rig. How is it holding up?

Sweet man. The kid is doin pretty good 👍
Yeah I was kinda surprised! haha
Yeah , I thought he was doing we'll imitating his dad . Good driving for just 7 years old !
I built a tube frame around it and put a 200mw FPV cam in mine, absolute blast.
sweet i have the same thing and i live in Alaska love to use it in snow
You make it look easy. I'm trying to customize the controls.
I just picked up one of these gems. I personally like it better than my $600.00 rig.
That thing looks pretty capable.
That was awesome you and your son he is on his way that that was great

In this video they're stock! It's running proline faultline wheels and class 1 Hyrax now.

😁👍 Awesome! I got mine today and WOW I agree it works awesome!
It's a sweet little rig! Love your channel btw!

Great location. I have a highly modified temper gen1. It's fun
Hello. In pure rock which one goes better of the two? Thanks, good video
Checked one out at my LHS, tires appear sticky and it seems rly well built
Nice video! Would you say the Temper Gen 2 is worth getting? It looks really cool.
Definitely!
Hello, thanks for this video. What is the weight of this scale rtr with batterie ? Thanks.

Oh sorry was there an included charger? If so I never used it...
What effect would it have if you changed the holes the shocks are mounted on

I have the old one, this new one looks much better, thank you for your impressions! By the way which camera do you use?
Thanks for watching! Camera is a Sony X3000. It has optical image stabilization which is why the video is nice and smooth.
It's a pleasure, thanks.

Just found ur channel today. You do a ton of cool rc stuff!-- like 👊😀
Thanks!
Docyou think that's a good buy for my first rock crawler, I currently have a traxxas basher that I dont get much use of
Sure! Just be care with the steering... if the tires get jammed up and you crank on the servo it'll break the m2 screw holding the linkage together.
@@Furadi seriously? Is there an upgrade to that problem?
@@miguelsalgado4673 a better servo and crank. And plenty of spare parts lmaoo
Installed new threaded shocks and aluminum lock outs
It's amazing
The battery life will be longer afther you charge a few time it will achieve full charge that is the nature of those batteries
That crawls great from stock bargin price great crawler
