- Part 2 of our June 2024 Alaska Trip. The Portage Glacier is a scenic short drive from Anchorage. The 1 hour narrated cruise was equal parts beautiful and serene. The clouds started to clear out as we made our way to the glacier and it made the views all the more stunning, if that's possible!
