    I love Kadarius Toney and I know he means well, but he’s probably in denial. I know that Henry should obviously be held accountable but Toney was wording it wrong. He should’ve shortened it to “he messed up praying for the families involved.”

  • @youngsquad3868
    @youngsquad3868 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Hot take: Kadarius was 100% right in what he said. Never once made an excuse for Ruggs, and said what needed to be said. Ruggs is still young and had a lot of growing up to do, it doesn’t justify getting behind the wheel drink, but we a act as if we’re saints who have never driven when we may have had a bit too much. It’s not a matter of him not caring about the lives around him, but it’s the simple misconception that it couldn’t happen to him. I used to never wear a seatbelt for that very reason, then I got I to a wreck and learned real quick. Yes, it’s Ruggs fault there’s no question there. But is it really necessary to drag the dude? He knows he messed up, we know he messed up, and we should learn from this rather than spend our energy trying to dismantle someone who threw their life, two families lives, and an innocent persons life away from a dumb decision. Rather than pointing at Ruggs and calling him stupid, look inward and make sure you never find yourself in a similar situation. Teach your kids to call someone if they need a ride, teach your kids not to speed regardless of the traffic, teach your kids to look at situations like this and to learn from them. Because otherwise we’re going to continue to scrutinize and act like we’d never be in his shoes, until we are.

    Papa Meags talking about how slow trials are in the US, in Italy, it takes the better part of a decade minimum 7-9 years for a trial to end, you might get sentenced in a couple years at the first level, but then there are 2 more levels (appeal and cassation) to confirm the sentencing and it takes a long time. It's supposed to take a bit less now, probably a couple years less.

    Damn reading about ruggs bodyguard hearing screams coming from the car he crashed into. He tried to pull her out while she was screaming and was overcome by fire and smoke. Another passerby heard the screaming coming from her car and also tried to pull her out and the same thing. The fire overcame him. I hope ruggs reads about the lady he killed and her last moments on this earth for him wanting to drive drunk as you said. I don't personallly agree with what you said about uber and everything , but i do believe driving drunk should be counted as intent. I think anyone who gets in a car drunk so know that there is an intent to kill even tho they really don't intent to kill anyone. I just think it should be that way so charges would be greater for drunk driving in general.

    So how I understand it is that he can be charged with multiple crimes against the same person. Double Jeopardy is being charged with the same crime twice. So he can only be charged with DUI resulting in death once but also battery/Reckless driving and stuff like that can be used to get a longer sentence. (Not 100% sure)

    There’s been so many people that have done way worse with INTENT and got a short sentence. He deserves to get locked up but not for a long time. The focus should be getting him mental help and working on his obvious alcohol addiction. It without a doubt but pray for the victims family🙏🏽

  • @JClutch03

    To address the point that you made about how many people in the car and you were confused on how that matters. My take is he gets a certain amount of time for the negligence alone. And depending on what the result of said negligence is how much more time he will get. So if it results in 2 deaths it is 40 years. Because as you said the negligence is the same but the result of said negligence is different because of the value placed on human life. 3 people is 60 years because that is the result of the negligence and the value of human life.

  • @christianhatke477
    @christianhatke477 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that if the woman's family were to sue Ruggs for propery damage/ destruction of property, thats the only charge he could get for killing the dog. Pets are seen as owned items by the US. I don't think he could receive any jail time for it, though. It would just end up being a settlement.

      He has been charged with DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and two counts of reckless driving, all of which are felonies.
      Ruggs also faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing a gun under the influence of alcohol. In all, he faces 46 years in prison.
