Hello! I'm finally getting a chance to watch your floss tube channel! I absolutely LOVE your friend Diane's pattern conversion! She really has a talent! I agree with you, stitching with silks is a dream. I've not tried Vicky Clayton's silks yet, but...I stitched LaDeeDa's Something Wicked as a gift for my daughter and it looked amazing! Thanks for sharing your retreat recaps - there are so many out there and half of them we don't even hear about. Someday maybe I can attend one. Beautiful stitching! Have a great week of stitching!
Hi, Shawn! I’m glad you visited. The Vicky Clayton silks are a dream to use, and I was surprised when we did the math that they were comparatively inexpensive. If only I could afford to use silks for everything. lol. There’s definitely a ton of retreats out there and impossible to easily know where and when they all are or how to get into them. All the ones I know of bunch up a lot in April and then in Sept/Oct, which can make for some hectic months. I’m determined to slow down on them next year, but we’ll see how I do.
Love hearing about your retreats...you are very lucky to be able to attend all the best retreats! Oh your Jardin Previe band sampler turned out gorgeous. Safe travels and enjoy the Attic. Can't wait to see the haul 😊.
Thanks, Robin! Yes, I am blessed to have the time and money to be able to do a lot of retreats. I’m determined to cut back on the, next year, but I think I said that about this year too. Lol
I watched this video as soon as it came out, then realized I had forgotten to comment! I guess cuz I was so thrilled about how you had talked about my project bag and " Quirky Woodland Critters". That was so kind of you! I really enjoyed myself at "Wild" hope to see you there again next year. I love your ABC bell pull!
Thank you, Diane! I hope to see you at next year’s SITW too! My viewers LOVED your critters! I still have your project bag that I won sitting here on the sofa next to me so I can look at it all the time. Love it! 😍
Hi Kathleen! I'm glad you caught Laura's (Stitching By the Shore) shout-out for your channel. (I'm the one who mentioned you to her😉). Congratulations on your beautiful finish of the ABC bell pull! It looks fantastic! I love the colors of the silks on your Strawberry Fields piece. That chart is on the top of the pile for my 2025 stitching. That dark gray chevron vase always stuck out as a bit of an eyesore to me. In fact I couldn't even tell what it was until I heard you refer to it as a vase! 😂. Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch changed all the dark gray colors for tans when she stitched her piece, and I was considering doing that myself, but I ultimately decided to stick with the grays. But I like your idea of eliminating the vase and bringing more of the plant down. What I might do is keep the vase but change the chevron colors to some of the greens and creams that are used elsewhere in the piece. Whatever I wind up doing, that will be the last thing I stitch on the piece 😂. Regarding your Boardwalk piece, you have to keep the bike shop! Bikes on the boardwalk are a thing, at least at NJ beaches. 😂 I love how the La D Da shoe is looking on your fabric. I have the same problem with 18 count...I prefer the dense color I get with using two strands of floss, but the bulk is a pain when I'm ending a thread. I tend to avoid 18 count for that reason. Hope you enjoy the Attic! Safe travels!
That was you who mentioned me to Laura! Thank you!! I’m glad it’s not just me bothered by that jumbo vase on Strawberry Fields. I think it’s the size AND it looks lopsided that bothers me. I’ll have to backtrack and see if I can find Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch’s to see what she did. I might have that one done by Stutch NJ next year. We’ll see. I’m easily distracted. 🙃 I may avoid 18 count too. It’s just bulky working with two strands. It doesn’t help that it’s on my hand dyed fabric (that you picked for that project - great choice, so thank you!). My dying it probably shrink the holes a little too. What are you stitching now?
I love your ABC piece, and have found the chart for it. The trick will be to find fabric long enough. I'm not sure what I'll use. So glad you enjoyed the retreat, too.
ABC was such a fun stitch! If you can’t find banding, do you have access to a shop who cuts pieces to size? A yard of fabric is 56” wide, so they could cut a narrow length that would be long enough. My banding was 28 count and finished at 44”, but higher count fabric wouldn’t finish as long.
Love your ABC's finish and hope one day we can meet in person. I too stitching with EJ on Modern Folk Embroidery stitch along so we can meet. The Stephanie fabric with blue on it would look good on the pumpkin face check that out.
Enjoyed catching up with you today and seeing all your goodie’s from the retreat. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching 😊🪡🧵🤗🤩
Thank you! Happy stitching!

Thank you Donna! I’m glad we’ll get to meet if we’re both doing the Modern Folk Embroidery SAL. I still have to decide what flosstube I want to use.
