The stairs were definitely scary! Thank you for the shout out to Miss West Virginia! No one from West Virginia has ever won as we all know, however this year‘s Miss West Virginia contestant is outstanding! She is an amazing person who if given the opportunity would represent the USA with honor and integrity! I do wish all the girls the best of luck, they’ve all worked so hard to reach this point!

West Virginia had an outstanding performance, a lot of people are ignoring her just because she was not a big fan favorite and she comes from a state that a lot of people don’t really know about. But not me, I saw her coming from a mile away. And her story is touching, when she was little she got scars on her legs and was bullied emotionally and physically for that, which took a huge toll on her self confidence. So every day she would look at herself in the mirror and give her self a complement. And years later her confidence boosted a whole lot, and she wrote a best selling children’s book called shining scars to make children with physical and emotional scars feel confident in their own skin. I think her story shows resilience which is a quality that a miss usa should possess.

Excellent analysis. Your illustration of "phone posture" should be seen by everyone, not just contestants. I had the same reaction to Ohio you did as well as for Louisiana, Massachusetts, Texas (gown) and Rhode Island (gown). The Crystal Stewart era is going to be interesting and frankly, I hope it's short lived. I also want to mention how your personal evolution in these analysis and recaps is growing by leaps and bounds and you really seem to have found a voice and style that suits you perfectly. She was so right about the contestants doing poses and other movements that are inappropriate with the gowns they were wearing. I noticed some contestants were doing a twirl like Taliana Vargas, but the gown was either was too form fitting to twirl with, or too large to pull it off.

So many great & really beautiful contestants this year. Kansas, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey are my top 5.
KANSAS for me is the most relatable. Yes, she needs to work on her stage performance but I saw her on instagram & wow, she absolutely gave me Miss Universe vibes. She’s very likable, relatable & absolutely stunning!
TEXAS’ evening gown performance was definitely the best of the night. That gown was so unique & brightened up the stage in a different way.
OHIO is the best black contestant this year. If they want another black queen this year, it’s definitely her.
ILLINOIS reminds me of Nicole Scherzinger.. really stunning lady.
And finally my home state NEW JERSEY. Another beautiful contestant. She needs to improve her presentation skills but I really love her cause & charity that she’s working with. So I give her points for that.
Agree with the horrible camera angles. Definitely needs improvement. Hope we see a better production on finals night.

Agree with everything you said 100%. It’s honestly so disheartening as a contestant who’s been doing pageants for 13 years to see the Miss USA organization start to shift back into a beauty pageant with an influencer instead of a pageant with a queen. I feel like many pageant girls try to hard to tell people it’s not about just being “pretty” it’s about being a strong and intelligent woman who does good for her community and tries to make a difference in the world and I don’t feel like that’s the type of women the organization is looking for right now. I’m just entering my miss era and hoping I’m wrong about the direction this is going because Miss USA has always been my absolute dream. I’d love to see a much bigger emphasis on service in the Miss USA Org.

I made sure that I watch prelim first before watching your video. When i watch the prelim, my only thought was 'THERE WERE A LOT OF THINGS GOING ON' like no final pose for swimsuit, short stage, STAIRSSSSS, camera angle. I totally understood when you said that you couldnt choose overall fav. Anyway thank you for the video Dani! Love from Malaysia!

Dani... I just subscribed... I watched your prediction video last week and thought you were spot on... and wanted to wait on this to decide if I should subscribe... and again... your comments are on target... I think you missed the boat by not mentioning California..... and some of the girls you identified are my "bubble" girls... but as far as the coaching .... YESSSSSSS.... with most of the "young" coaches"... I think... they don't know what they are talking about... now retired after 30 years of coaching internationally.... You Ms. Dani are the best I have heard yet. my top 5 in order... Texas, California, Illinois, Arizona, and Alabama...

Thank you so much for this! I didn't want to pay to watch the prelims so I'm so excited to be up to date for the finals. THOSE STAIRS! That's.... a lot? Amazing as always, Dani!

Hmmmm ... I don't have an overall favorite this year either. But I'll say that we're definitely in sync - practicality every delegate you've mentioned is on my Top 16 Radar. In Evening Gowns - Kentucky, Ohio, and Texas were my Top 3 favorites - I expected, or at least hoped to see more delegates with their similar 'Wow Factor". And despite a hiccup with Kentucky and Texas in swimwear, I expect to see them in the Semis. Ohio certainly should be in the semi's without reservations. Now the 3 faces that automatically standout are Illinois, Kansas, and North Carolina. Illinois gives me Miss Universe vibes (I agree with you on a touch less makeup for her); Kansas (despite the way she navigated the stairs in gown) her face, height, and stage presence is definitely something I can see at Miss Universe; North Carolina has a great sparkle and fresh look, and style also. Dani, you mentioned Miss America vibe (now that totally describes why I'm perplexed by the performance of the following delegates, but I like them all) .... Tennessee, Vermont, Nebraska, Mississippi, and Arizona - it's either their posture or gowns that slightly threw me off. I'm pleasantly surprised by California, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island. Overall, like you Dani, I'm not getting Elle/Oliva J./Rachel vibes (At first glance I literally said these women would win). Then again that beauty of it all, not having such a clear front runner 😁. Opening ensemble is great. Camera angles were awful in a lot of moments. Mics need to be adjusted accordingly for intros and intros need to be more than just yelling one's name and state. I'm still underwhelmed by the overall production - it's a live show, so why not bring back the 'Pageanty', and elevate it, right?🤔 There's so much more that could be presented. Anyway, great summary overall Dani 🤩🥰. Looking forward to your MISS USA 2022 recap. Until then - Cheers!

First i hope this is NOT the final lighting of the stage. If it will be broadcast like this, i would really say - what is happening with MIss USA. Miss USA production has been the standard of all national pageants. Getting that out of the way my top 3 for now is Ohio NC and Texas.

    • @lukes.3488

Definitely. It was ok for the most part but low lighting doesn't work during EG.

Dani, I do not know why Morgan wore her state gown for national. She does look absolutely stunning in it. But we all know that was some sort of a "drama" behind that gown in early August. It is a good thing that everyone rallied behind Gaspar and Morgan.
With regards to KT's gown, IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! That color and pattern are really her and fit her personality. That gown is the more "blingy" version of her state gown. Regarding her pivot turn, you better ask Chloe Brown if KT consulted her regarding that. Chloe offered to help out KT smooth everything a couple of weeks before state early this year, I don't know if they kept working together after state.

Our new Miss Universe has just been selected and she comes from USA. It's been a long time since I've ever been able to say that about USA. Not only is she elegant and of Miss Universe statue but business-wise she fits that missing piece from Miss Universe that they so badly need right now. #NextMissUniverse #OneToBeat #FrontRunner #MissUSA2022.
