That's worth investing money into ho locomotive's with DCC n sound technology I've been looking for this for years and in early 2000 is when it became available for ho n o scale n gar scale locomotives steam n diesel
Impressive locomotive product review, these are fantastic detail premier quality gp30 models, if I decide to purchase any of these for myself it will likely be UP, Rio Grande or C&NW. It is great to see that Scaletrains has finally produced a 4 axle older emd diesel model from the 1960s era.
Thank you for the compliment. These are certainly a model to buy. Well worth the price in my opinion. These GP30s were properly executed by ScaleTrains. I really contemplated whether to get UP or Rip Grande. UP won the debate because I think look good with my turbine. Thank you for watching me video!
You know... I wasn't all too impressed with the sound from these units. Great units in general, but the sound was just not there. I definitely will check those speakers out!
@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest I'd like to know where the speaker is located? I don't see it anywhere. I most manufacturers locomotives, the speaker is in plain view and can be easily removed. If I have to take apart the weights or whatever around the motor to get to a speaker I'll just stay with the factory speaker. I do have Scale Sound Systems speakers in all of my Atlas locomotives........easy changes.
@@tomjohnson6026 I don’t know where the speaker is located on the GP30. On the ET44 and the SDL39 all you need to do is take a few bolts off the speaker housing and it will remove easily. I will see if I can remove the shell on mine and I will try to get back to you as I am curious about the same.
hey JT, too bad you didn't get the 844 (Nevada Southern Railway Museum), it's only a few miles from my house! Nice review, those classification lights are cool. Thanks, Terry
You know I thought about preordering that one initially. I liked it because it had the ditch lights on it. I do like that class lights too! They look real neat! Thank your for the compliment and thank you for watching.

Oooo, Setting up the purple lights in the bedroom for the lady's? All we need now is the smooth, smooth jazz... :) :) :)
Hahaha yeah that’s what I had planned for after. Lol. Thank you for watching!
Very nice train.
Thank you!
You have some SCALE TRAINS GP30's also A -B set cool trains,
Yes, I really like them a lot. You have some great videos!
@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest I do. I love my SCALE TRAINS GP30's a lot Iam real thing about the SD40-2B😀 also
The B looks ugly sorry jmo
I totally understand. I think some engines are ugly too. This one is a little special because it is the first GP30B unit to be produced in plastic.
@@modelrailroadingthesouthwest
I like the loco just not the b unit. I love my NYC GP7 lightning stripes look great I think
@@NYandAtlantic GP7 units are nice. I like true NYC paint schemes.
Hey, it's a B unit. They served their purpose, to move freight and make profits, not for beauty contests!!

Nice video! y'know I have always wondered what the back thing without the cab is for.
Thank you for the compliment and thank you for watching. Oh yeah they similar to a B unit like F7 A and B units. Extra motive power without the cab.
@Model Railroading The Southwest Oh ok thanks for the info!
