My wife and I were on this same repositioning cruise on the Eclipse and have an absolutely fantastic time. The solstice class is our favorite class celebrity ship and the captain, crew and entertainment on the Eclipse were all amazing. Great job on this video and glad you posted. I'm looking forward to viewing your next videos.
We were on this cruise! We love Celebrity and had a wonderful time . I love the layout of the ship. Can’t wait to get back on after the revitalization in 2025.
Hello Zach, we were on the same cruise with you and thank you for saying hello to me. We always enjoy watching your Channel. Out running Hurricane Oscar was the best. Looking forward to seeing more of your cruise content.
We sailed a 12-day repositioning cruise September last year on the Serenade of the Seas - moving the ship from Tampa to Boston. It was a great cruise. Our itinerary went to Grand Cayman, then the ABC islands with a stop at Perfect Day at Coco Cay coming back up. We had six sea days as well. Hope that you are having a great cruise!
Great video, This is a cruise I’ll have to add to my bucket list. Going on my first repositioning cruise on this ship in October, Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. Can’t wait.
Thanks Zach! Luv your videos! We absolutely loved the Eclipse. In January of 2019 we did b2b two week cruises. First one started in Chili then around the horn and up to Buenos Aires. Then back down coast to Antarctica,Falklands and back to Buenos Aires. The sky lounge was our camp out spot in Antarctica! It was sunny and warmer than home. That was our longest time on a cruise but oh so worth it.
Wow, that sounds like an incredible journey! Cruising around the horn and visiting Antarctica is definitely a bucket-list experience. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Eclipse and made such amazing memories!
Zach, you're an experienced Celebrity cruiser. It's the Grand Foyer on the Solstice and Millennium class and the Grand Plaza on the Edge class ships. Celebrity doesn't call their lobby open areas "atriums." 13:21, that dog first appeared on the Celebrity Galaxy (of 1996). Celebrity has put some of the art on their sold off ships on their current fleet. About room selection, look for complaints about noise above you. Sometimes the rooms may seem like an upgrade but it may be located below a noisy public area and you can hear the noise. Upgrades are fine, as long as it is to a relatively quiet stateroom. As far as the Eclipse goes, it's a Solstice ship. I like this class best. Its age doesn't matter to me, it's upkeep and general feel does. AFAIK, all the Solstice ships have full Sky Lounges except for the Reflection. The Sky Lounge is wonderful and the removal of it from the Edge ships is unfortunate. Excellent video and showing of the sail away in the sunset.
I was on this cruise with you as a "Shipmate." 🙂 It was my 1st Celebrity cruise after cruising with NCl 18 times. I enjoyed it emmensley, espescially the night we had some swells from Hurricane Oscar! ( that was a fun evening) However, I thought NCL dining was better however. PS I live in Boston so Embarkation was so Easy! ( I subbed)
Thanks Zach, great video, pleased you've producd this video, as we're booked on it's repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton 22 March 2025, and now we're really looking forward to it. Keep travlin cheers
Hi Zach. We were also on this cruise with you. Have you only completed the Bermuda port day video? I'd like to see the other three too when they come out! I just subscribed.
Love your videos! I don’t like long cruises and I cannot imagine cruising solo as much as you do--I like Celebrity because it is more laid back and not as overwhelming!
We’ve been watching you for a while. Enjoy your reviews. We will be on silhouette in November for our second repositioning cruise. After a few weeks in dry dock, we sail from Barcelona to FLL. Our first was on Wonder of the seas in April 2022 from FLL to Barcelona. Since we’re diamond on RCI we will be matched on celebrity. Thanks for covering elite breakfast. You’re absolutely correct about pricing. We booked accessible balcony on deck 7 port side forward which is basically a junior suite. We paid 4300 for all inclusive. Bargain, but we booked in April 2023. Using celebrity visa points we were able to upgrade to premium beverage, wifi and purchase dining package w no out of pocket just for using it to pay bills. So excited. We loved Barcelona and can’t wait to get back. We did not enjoy flying back because of the jet lag so we reversed the trip so we can sail back. Keep it up and thank you for all the useful information.
I truly appreciate your kind words and support! It’s wonderful to hear that my reviews have been helpful. Wishing you a fantastic time on your upcoming cruise!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Just got back from a med cruise (Italy, Greece, Turkey, Malta & Barcelona Spain (10 days) on the Equinox. Loved the Equinox !!! I was in a hump cabin (Deluxe Balcony - cabin 9211 near the card room). Loved that big balcony and location of 9211 !!. I live in Boston and sometimes drive my power boat right by the Eclipse at Black Falcon terminal 😀
Awesome video Zach! I have not checked out Celebrity yet…but now really need to give them a try. The deco is so cool! Thanks for sharing great content!
Celebrity is awesome. I’m currently on my 3rd Celebrity cruise, on the Edge heading for Sydney, Australia. The Edge class has a pointy yacht type hull which makes it extremely steady in choppy seas. Recommend!
I live in Boston, haven’t sailed Celebrity yet but did book one for March 2026…booked. Family cruise on RCCL in July 2025 looking forward to both. You lucked out in Boston…we are having the final days of good weather.
Zach: Great video as always. I had a route map completed for my Akaska cruise this past May after your suggestion. My grandson was thrilled. Thanks for that tip. Safe travels.
Glad you are eating in buffet and dining room more. Would be interesting to see what you pack for a 10 day cruise since you only bring a carry on and backpack.
Eclipse was my first Celebrity Cruise! Im normally a Royal cruiser. Loved this ship! The food in the main dining room is excellent! You will enjoy it. Its now my favorite line.
Love seeing you back on Celebrity. That's a hump cabin... Those are the first cabins to go usually because of those huge balconies there are some on another ship which had even larger balcony space than the one you got. Last time I was down in the ABCs on a celebrity ship went out for snorkeling on one of the small providers boats and had the best time we were out there an extra hour and a half over what we paid for but it's the smallest of the three islands and absolutely loved it but they are very particular about being careful with the coral reefs so be prepared for that
We’ve been on the Eclipse a couple of times but we’re going on her at Christmas for the first time in a long time. We liked her then and I’m sure we’ll like her now.
Thank you for helping get my ship back to Fort Lauderdale! I’ll be taking a 10 day ultimate southern Caribbean over Thanksgiving holiday on the eclipse, in the Retreat. I’m looking forward to watching every one of these blogs while you’re enjoying the eclipse.
I’ll be going on celebrity in Dec to the abc islands too. I am very excited to see what excursions you take, what you recommend. Hope you post them in a timely manner. Safe travels
Sailed the eclipse twice…love the ship..Thx Zach🚢🙂 ps. I am on a repositioning cruise March 22nd from port Everglades over to Mediterranean for 21 days.
I was on this cruise. We had great weather, considering that Hurricane Milton was supposed to be heading for Bermuda, but passed to the south of it. It was my first Celebrity cruise, and I’ll be back. Also, while I had dinner in the specialty restaurants, I didn’t find the food and experience better than the MDR and Buffet. When I dine on a Celebrity cruise again, I’ll stick to the MDR and buffet. It was a great time!
Because of you eating in specialty restaurants in Dec I booked the garden for dinner. One of the specialty rest. I have not tried on Celebrity yet. My unsolicited advice is to eat where you want to. As the menu varies night to night go for the main course of your desire.
That’s the day I got off and wished I known I could have stayed on to Florida. Would have been a great back to back. It definitely needs to be refreshed though!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan forgot to mention that we definitely utilize the storage space above the bed… Nothing has ever fallen on our head and I love that extra space… We use it for all of our daytime shorts and T-shirts etc. bathing suits you name it we use it… We will be on the celebrity infinity in January and I'm just a little disappointed that that ship does not have the above bed storage but we will make do of course🚢
My wife and I sailed on the Equinox back in October of 2023 and we loved it. I see it looks very similar to the Eclipse. We are looking forward to trying an Edge class ship next.
I agree with enjoying the forward views from the Solstice class Sky lounge. I miss that on the Edge class ships, not as much a fan of Eden at the aft (besides awkward seating for entertainment). I don't think i would enjoy Edge class ships for Alaska cruise viewing. Forward views mostly restricted to Retreat sun deck. We took advantage of that due to a Sky Suite for Panama Canal. Anyway, some aspects of the older ships are actually nice. Trying the Summit in 3 weeks!
Absolutely. For me, the Edge ships don't compare favorably at all (Limited interior venues. They actually have less venues in them than even the old Horizon class Celebrity ships of the early 1990s.). Newer is newer. Not necessarily better. The Summit has redesigned staterooms and they seem nice. But some original aspects of it that are great are the wide promenade deck that don't look out at tenders but at the actual ocean as well as the salt-water thellasotherapy pool in the solarium. It also has the Rendezvous Lounge, a nice big lounge for various music and some activities.
Thanks for showing the cookies (with clarity) at Cafe Al Bacio so I could see the gluten free chocolate chip. Do you know if they had any cakes or brownies that were gluten free? (I couldn't see the labels in your video)
I sailed on the Celebrity Eclipse back in August 2016 to the Baltics! Sadly probs won’t be sailing with celebrity again since their prices are sky high
I think you should eat where you want to eat. Specialty restaurants, like you do quite a bit, actually seem like people would appreciate reviews of those more because of the investment in the additional cost. I know I do. I want to see if they are worth it. That is a great itinerary!
Hey zach..... I knew that was you!! I was waiting for my wife to get an ice cream and I sat at the high table. You were the only one sitting..... I staired at you and you made eye contact. I didn't want you to think I was staring so I looked sway.....away...... damn I wish I had said something I watch all your videos 4:48
Hi. Zach, how are you getting around the greater than 200 percent mark up for solo travelers? I know one time you said you may not sail with Celebrity anymore.
I was surprised to see you back on celebrity since they jacked up the pricing for solo cruisers. But it sounds like you booked this one before the price increase?
I love this itinerary!!!!! I live in Philly, so I'm not too far from Boston. I wonder if they do this sailing often. Would you mind telling the price? If not I understand 😊
It's interesting to see how the cruise industry is changing! Repositioning cruises used to be a great hidden gem, but it looks like more people are catching on to the value they offer.
Thanks for fhis! I'm doing a nine night itineraray on Eclipse in mid-November. First time on the ship, but not the first time on Celebrity, so I 'm interested in seeing what's available and what the food and service are like on the ship.

You'll have plenty of time for a walking tour, that's for sure!
My satellite cruise map wouldn’t have any lines on it 😭
Sailed eclipse in 21. Hope they have refurbished , because the ship fit is old & tired
Ship isn't old. If it is tired, it's tired. But a ship has a life of 30 plus years and at 13-15 years in service, it is at best middle age.
