Exactly. Had that debate with a very narrow minded person once after slaughtering a goat. I suggested, that was the most honorable way to eat your food. But in return I got a "I rather eat chicken from the store." Nuff said.
Spearfishing is definitely the sustainable way to get food on your table!

Not Fisherman sadly. Every time I Spearfish I find hooks, sinkers, miles of tangled fishing line. Last week I found a Monster snapper hooked up on a long line that had been snapped off from the beach the night before. Ol' man snapper dead and entangled. Not to mention damage to by catch that doesn't exist in fishing with a speargun.

Great vid man. I love and respect that approach: you share the ups and downs, that's not marketing bullshit. And that's part of spearfishing indeed.Sometimes we get to experience that awful feeling when you hurt a nice fish and don't get to eat it. Still, we're far more connected to the ocean and marine life than "normal" fish eaters who are unlucky and have to get their food at the supermarket.

Which model gopro is using ?
Awesome video and I support it but why did he shoot the fish when he knew that the buoy wouldn´t hold it. Now the fish has to swim around with a spear in it and the buoy will end up somewhere as ocean trash...
fish will die, all went wrong, he could have catched it with one buoy
The sharks got that fish within 15 minutes and the locals will be stoked if that buoy washes up on shore.

Very few people would have the guts or humility to show their mistakes so that others can learn. The irony of losing that tuna is that over 100,000 people have seen this video and will be reluctant to repeat his mistake. So, how many big fish get saved because we all now know that one float won't do it for big strong fish?

First fish i speared was the best fish I've ever had in my life. There is a satisfaction that comes from collecting your own food.
