My mom got a switch for her birthday on the 14th started an island her first free nook miles ticket from Tom Nook she used and found Sasha, then I gave her some to help her get started with villager hunting (she watched a ton of villager hunting videos which made her want to get the game) and on her 7th ticket she found Shino.
She accidentally let a spot autofill and got Bea, who is just completely adorable - and honestly I'm just sitting here seething because of how many horrendous villagers I had to go through when I started LMAO

Petri is for sure meant to be a mad scientist the inside of their house is set up to resemble a lab and their name is Petri like a Petri dish which is used by scientists to culture cells. Petri reminds me of the stereotype in movies where the nerdy girl takes her glasses off and lets her hair down and is then she is smart and beautiful. You take petri’s glasses off and their eyes are gorgeous, proving that Petri is smart and beautiful. 😌
