I just chose Iorveth's path and sadly I am not going to replay witcher 2 as I have already taken a long time reading the books and playing the first game. Wild that I actually just did my third playthrough of Armored Core 6 last night. That game is phenomenal and the balls that From had to hide probably half of the content the game has to offer behind not one but *TWO* ng+ cycles is unreal. Huge respect for making such a banger of a game, definitely some of the most fun I've had in a long time.

Actually Nier Automata has 5 endings with playthrough showing something a little more story wise. I found the sequential playthroughs went by a lot faster. The longest playthrough is the 1st one. All in all I didn't mind because Nier Automata is one of my favorite games of all time. Great soundtrack too. Nier Replicant was also amazing.
Nier Replicant even more than Automata, IMHO. Automata was more replaying the first two thirds of the game, then playing the rest of the game. I think Replicant was just flat-out play the game three times to find out what's really going on.
@@kildidari think they're just trying to diversify their lists. They've mentioned the NieR games multiple times in their videos, and the NieR games have kinda become known partly for their multiple playthroughs. Largely because they're designed entirely around replaying them.
Dishonored for sure, especially the second one. You have 2 ways of playing in general, 2 characters and game+ makes it possible to significally change the way you play. Just a completely different experience, so I had to play it several times just to try both characters and then to mix their abilities
I found one of the most unique takes on a second even third play-through was "Lies of P". Understanding what the bosses are saying in their language on additional runs changes the whole story. They also give you more options to upgrade P's heart for combat, and of course your decisions can alter the ending as well.
I loved finding there was a new upgrade level in Lies of P. I almost always immediately want to play a Souls type again as soon as I finish it. Finding there was something more to work towards made it so much more rewarding to play again.
Red dead 2 I have beat it about 15 times and every single play thru I find things I never knew about, and i am the type that looks for everything before moving on
Armored Core 6 has one of the best NG+ and NG++ modes in any game. A couple exclusive missions and a new final boss/ending for NG+. And like 14 new missions and another new final boss/ending for NG++. I really hope more games follow suit.
Great video! Just started the Lake House DLC and was wondering if I should play through the main game again. Sounds like it's definitely worth it! Thanks again!
Scarlet Nexus. There are 2 playable characters with their own stories that connect to the main story of the game. A cutscene you see as one character plays out differently with the other bc you're seeing their different perspectives. So you have to play the game with each character in order to fully understand the main story.
Remedy games do this a lot. Quantum Break had an entirely different plot narrative depending on the decisions you made - including character deaths - and the TV episode cutscenes would change drastically. Still hoping they make a sequel. A hybrid of video game & live action miniseries is such a fun idea that few people try to explore.
Dragon Quest 11. About 60 hrs in. You got your ending. World is at peace. Everyone is going to live happly ever after. EXCEPT, if there is something you are not satisfy with (major story plot). You have the choice to go into "new game plus". spoiler: you go back to about 1/3 of your first playthru. Level reset to that time. Skill unlearned. But this time you can do something different because the mc knew what's coming. Story got major change. And then after even more grinding and story bits you can arrive at the true ending.
That's more of a post-game than a NG+. DQXIS actually does have a sort of NG+ mode though. Going to any save point will allow you to switch to playing the game in 2D mode (or 3d if you are already playing in 2D). You pick a chapter to start on and play with everything you had obtained and any levels, money, and so on, minus any skills that would not be available at that point (they just give you the skill points back then). Therefore you can switch to 2D (or 3d), then back to the mode you were in at chapter 1 and stomp your way through the story with your OP characters. Switching also resets the world allowing you to repeatedly recollect any item from chests you want and also allows you to take advantage of an item duplication trick multiple times. Most people will only ever do something like this though to either farm items and money from the same chapter they were on or to reset up the duplication trick for certain stat seeds to use in the post game.
Chrono Trigger should be high on this list. It has 15 endings that depend on who is in your party and at what point in the story you beat the final boss.
Dishonoured for sure. You can play the entire game without harming anyone or being seen so you miss out on tons of stuff that would have made the game wildly different.

Rdr2 for me. The first time was an incredible experience. Then I played through it again more slowly and it was even better. It also cemented Arthur Morgan as my favorite video game character and possible fictional character ever. The subtlty and nuance in which Arthur is performed and written is simply remarkable and better than anything I've seen in other games.
@zagon8692 It's my favorite game of all time. I love the gameplay, realism, cutscenes, story, movement, etc. I like that you don't feel like an unstoppable badass. Arthur has a vulnerability to him the entire campaign. Personally, in my opinion it just operates on a level so much higher than other videogames. But hey it's my kind of game. It rewards you with more story for taking it slower and emphasizes things like eating and sleeping over leveling up. It's not a "videogamey" videogame but that's why I love it. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I think it's a blast to play and it moved me to tears.
I consider the first RDR as my favorite game of all time but man, I had a hard time finishing RDR2... For the last 20 or so hours, I was waiting for the credits to roll. The game wouldn't end. I'll probably replay it someday, maybe my experience will be different. Sometimes it's just the mood you're in at the moment.
@@keratubesFunny I had the opposite experience. I bought Rdr1 again for ps4 this year and started playing through it again. I finished the Mexico section and I just find 2 so much more compelling. The missions feel like they have much more variety in 2, I frankly prefer Arthur as a protagonist to John, I love being able to interact with every character, the realism, etc. I could go on and on why I prefer 2. But hey I love hearing different opinions and different strokes for different folks!
@@jimmymurphy898 Maybe it's me. I recently did Cyberpunk, GTA 5 and now almost finished GTA 4 (first playthrough each) in that order. GTA 4 is my favorite. Maybe I'm not too much into "hyper realism". :)
In RE2 Remake, Mr. X isn't the Route B final boss. That's Leon's boss whether the player chooses Leon or Claire first. The Route B playthrough's final boss will always be G5 aka Birkin. So if you pick Claire then Leon, you fight Mr. X then G5. If you pick Leon then Claire, you fight Birkin twice, first G4, then G5.
Also Nier Replicant, especially the remaster/remake. This comment will include some vague spoilers so skip it if you don't want to be spoiled. Okay you have been warned. First there's 4 endings. After beating the game once, you start again in Part 2 and right off the bat the player will notice some different things. There's new backstory segments about an important character in between fights. The player will also be able to understand dialogue from bosses and will see added cutscenes that can heavily change how they may view those bosses. After the second time you beat the game, in the third playthrough collecting all weapons will allow you to view the final two endings at the end as a choice. One of them deletes any save file with the same player name that you are playing as (though you can back them up before choosing the option). I said earlier there were 4 endings. I lied. There are actually 5 endings. If the player chooses to start a new save entirely and they play through until a certain spot in the story not too far in, they will notice things have changed significantly and they are now in a new route of the game entirely.
this was the problem in the Remake, in the OG Route B always fought Birkin as the final boss while route A always fought Mr X as the final boss but in the remake because they could do the separate route properly for the 2nd half of the game Leon always fights Mr X and Claire always fights Birkin as the final boss.
Resistance Fall of Man if FINALLY mentioned. The kickass guns are FINALLY being acknowledged... Gameranx proceeds to show footage of the two most basic guns you get in the beginning of the first playthrough. Damn man... I felt hyped and disappointed at the same time.
balteus took me 2 days; sea spider took me 5. rest of the game was relatively smooth (read: 2-3 deaths average, learnable mistakes). once you let the game beat you into submission, it plays nice lol so yeah, i felt that flex too.
Resistance: Fall of Man, what a game, I must've completed it at least 3 times in co-op. You actually felt like you were experiencing a war in that game
The weirdest thing just happened while I was watching this video. For some reason, I started thinking about the fact that I've never heard you mention the game "Control" in any of your videos that I've seen so far, then 5 seconds later you give it a shout-out! Kinda blew my mind... Same wavelengths, dude. Hell yeah!
Dead Island 2 recently was added more to this list. Tormented Souls and Stray Souls without a doubt since each has 3 different decision based endings based on how you choose at a certain point.
Reminant 2 would be one I'd absolutle have to have on this list. You can play through the story one, play through again and, and never once play in the same area. There's a whole separate area in each world each time and that's not to mention the different options within.
Lies of P is definitely worth a second play through as well! During your first play through you can’t understand the puppet bosses, even their captions are jibberish but when you play it a second time the captions are clear and it gives a whole new perspective of the story.
Neat. I’ve never tried new game plus in any game (time restraint). Maybe I will now. Note: about silent man. I heard you say main character isn’t in some scenes, but I think it doesn’t really matter. (Never played it). Sounds like an interesting premise. As a hearing impaired person I can relate to this in a way. Been impaired my whole life. Have a hearing aid but if I don’t have it on (for whatever reason) I feel totally useless WATCHING people talk. Whether he was there or not he can’t hear. So he almost might as well not be there regardless. I would say if they could remake this game to add sign language to it (assuming that’s not already there). Everyone has there likes and dislikes so I respect if ya don’t think it’s good. But interesting premise from my perspective. Remember hearing impaired and deaf people have a tough time communicating with people who don’t know sign language or if they can’t read lips. Neither of which I can do. Which scares me if I loose the tiny bit of hearing I have.
The different bosses in RE2R are not tied to scenario a or b but rather which character you play as. You can still fight mutated mr x in scenario a if you play Leon first and burkin in scenario b if you play Claire second.
For me, EDF Insect Armageddon comes to mind. The standard ending from beating Normal mode implies your squad died in the final mission. The ending becomes slightly happier as difficulty increases. Like NG+, you kept your gear and unlocked stronger guns for each sequential story run, and I think the Inferno difficulty was locked behind beating Hard.
All FromSoft games require at least 2-3 playthroughs. If you're going in blind there's no way in hell you'll get all of the quests, all of the bosses, all of the areas, etc.
I replay Dead space every year, it's a tradition for me and my friend who I race to see who can beat it faster. Will let you know if there's any secret from replaying it 5 or 10 times.
Resistance: Fall Of Man is one of the best games ever! So underrated and it doesn’t matter that it’s a PS3 title, the graphics are fantastic…but it’s the gameplay that makes it such an amazing experience. Resistance 2 does have better graphics, but unfortunately the gameplay isn’t quite as good as the first game imho.
From the title, I didn't think this was going to be about New Game +. I thought it was going to be more like, "Look at how much the game changes if you do X instead of Y!" Like in Baldur's Gate 3, where making or not making certain choices changes the plot of the game dramatically.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night is a game you must play twice. Grinding for that Duplicator converts the game into a Run & Gun blast everything with buffalo star and power of sire makes Alucard Super OP! Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 has similar mechanics with bandana (unlimited bullets/items) and stealth gear.
Ever since angry joe greatly reduced his video game content i've found myself coming to this channel more often, i just wanna see GAME STUFF! and i enjoy the simple before you buy reviews, they feel honest.
Definitely, Nioh 1&2! The games pretty much just start after completing your first playthrough when it comes to completing and defining your build and optimizing your gear
14:32 i’m surprised you didn’t mention how there’s dialogue from characters that reference your previous play throughs, that’s a really big reason to replay imo
Shadow of Destiny/Memory for the PS2 was pretty fun with its multiple endings. Since the game revolved around time travel, each conclusion was essentially a different multiversal outcome for the events. But not only that, you would be informed of which scenes you had already seen with a flashing symbol to skip them, and your knowledge as the player could be used to change certain outcomes that may have stumped you originally. A particular example involves saving a lady from a tragic fate that was seemingly impossible to stop as you had to make a very specific set of choices to save her, and this in turn allowed you access to endings that would otherwise not be obtainable otherwise. It didn't have any combat, and the puzzles were often pretty simple, even for a Konami game during the era of their moon logic puzzles in Silent Hill, but it was a pretty fun mystery-adventure title, one that I would love see get remake, as the fictional town of the game was rather pretty looking, even if it was a mostly empty PS2 world, hahahahaha...
I can think of a few survival horror games that require multiple playthroughs. In Eternal Darkness you get a secret ending if you play through it with each of the three Ancient One antagonists. In Signalis I'm pretty sure you have to have beaten the game once to see any of the other endings. Those are just two off the top of my head.
Spec Ops The Line. You need multiple play throughs to fully understand. Also, there are like 4 endings. Spec Ops The Line was so underrated. One of the best shooters I have ever played, an emotional roller-coaster. Especially coming from a veteran!!!
Man I bought a ps3 from my buddy back in 2014 and bought Resistance 1,2 and 4 at games stop under $10 for all three. Also the infamous games for dirt cheap and some other games that came with my console. Best summer ever.
Gotta add in two of my favorite games, Vagrant Story and Parasite Eve. In Vagrant Story. you get access to new keys that unlock more areas of the game and the best workshop. It also brings in more enemies and bosses. Parasite Eve unlocks the Chrysler Building, an entirely new dungeon with a new ending.
Another thing with resistance is if you played its campaign co-op you dont get the dual reapers on the second run, which I totally had no idea existed until my 10th play through

Skyrim is probably the most replayed game. Its nice to go through the game multiple times to make different decisions
Still a fun play today!
It's also worth mentioning that choosing a character in Resident Evil 1 is basically choosing a difficulty setting.
Remnant 2 not being on here is killerrrrrr 😢
I love it so much and I feel like I haven't scratched the surface
Resistance Fall of Man if FINALLY mentioned. The kickass guns are FINALLY being acknowledged... Gameranx proceeds to show footage of the two most basic guns you get in the beginning of the first playthrough. Damn man... I felt hyped and disappointed at the same time.
Falcons subtle flex of “armored core 6 isn’t that hard to beat” was the most gigachad thing I’ve heard all day 🤘🏽What a legend
balteus took me 2 days; sea spider took me 5. rest of the game was relatively smooth (read: 2-3 deaths average, learnable mistakes). once you let the game beat you into submission, it plays nice lol so yeah, i felt that flex too.
Resistance: Fall of Man, what a game, I must've completed it at least 3 times in co-op. You actually felt like you were experiencing a war in that game
Bioshock was awesome to replay
I think Remnant 2 is also a good example for playing it two or even three times to see all the levels and bosses.
If you don't play through Remnant 2 like 5 times, you aren't even trying.
So true
Yo, love that you chucked Blasphemous in there. Great game.
...also its a penitence not a pestilence lol.
Lies of P is definitely worth a second play through as well! During your first play through you can’t understand the puppet bosses, even their captions are jibberish but when you play it a second time the captions are clear and it gives a whole new perspective of the story.
Amazing video Falcon and Gameranx team on playing games twice, fantastic job. What about dark pictures anthology games too.
Hey thanks for watching! :D
Disappointed that Chronotrigger isn't on the list.
Yes I'm old, so is Falcon. He should know.
Fellow old person here. Chronotrigger absolutely should be here
Chrono Trigger really needed to be on this list with how many endings it has
Shadow the Hedgehog should be on here too. 😂
Resistance was an amazing series, and I wish it got more attention!
Hello, Falcon!!
Hello
Thanks for posting Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe for me, heh
These daily vids are the only thing keeping me sane during this tumultuous time
Nier Automata was such a treat. I’ve never played anything like it
Glad you enjoyed that one!
Another day, another Gameranx video to watch with my morning coffee. 🤘🏻
Hey we appreciate you!
Alan Wake 2's Final Draft is so good that I happily went through it and got 100%. I love that game despite what they did to Saga.
Front mission 3 had two completely different routes were you fight for different factions in many escenarios. Truly revolutionary for a ps1 game
_Stanley ~_ *"I has a bucket!!"*
Every Ratchet and Clank I have finished I have finished twice
Resistance: Fall Of Man is one of the best games ever! So underrated and it doesn’t matter that it’s a PS3 title, the graphics are fantastic…but it’s the gameplay that makes it such an amazing experience. Resistance 2 does have better graphics, but unfortunately the gameplay isn’t quite as good as the first game imho.
I would include both The Getaway games. Playing the each character really gives a new to the story of each game.
Will you do a before you buy for Life Is Strange Double Exposure?
From the title, I didn't think this was going to be about New Game +.
I thought it was going to be more like, "Look at how much the game changes if you do X instead of Y!"
Like in Baldur's Gate 3, where making or not making certain choices changes the plot of the game dramatically.
Got my end sems tmr but who cares, gameranx just dropped a new vid
First game that sprang to mind seeing this was Oxenfree and I was expecting seeing it on your list. Can't believe you missed it!
14:47
You also get a *1911* for Leon and a *Colt SAA* for Claire!
Definitely, Nioh 1&2! The games pretty much just start after completing your first playthrough when it comes to completing and defining your build and optimizing your gear
The Stanley Parable (and Davey Wreden, its creator) are astounding. 10/10.
I absolutely love the games which require you to play them multiple times! 😎
"Best secret levels in games", idea for a video? (Crash bandicoot series for note.)
Thanks for the suggestion
Can't wait to see it in a few weeks!
14:32 i’m surprised you didn’t mention how there’s dialogue from characters that reference your previous play throughs, that’s a really big reason to replay imo
Alan Wake 2 is definitely one that blew my mind when the final draft came out
What about the Tony Hawk Pro Skater Series because you have to play those more than twice to unlock everything.
👍🏼part 2
Didn't know about Resistance 1 new guns. Thank you.
I'm gonna put Scarlet Nexus, i think its one of the best example where you play the story all over again but with different gameplay and character
There's a little indie game called reventure, it has 100+ endings (and the game is about finding all endings)
It didn't have any combat, and the puzzles were often pretty simple, even for a Konami game during the era of their moon logic puzzles in Silent Hill, but it was a pretty fun mystery-adventure title, one that I would love see get remake, as the fictional town of the game was rather pretty looking, even if it was a mostly empty PS2 world, hahahahaha...
recognized Resistance fall of man thumbnail. instant like
Gosh. How much I wish they would reboot or remaster the Resistance series
i bought 1 & 2 recently. they still hold up imo but the fov is a bit nauseating. a remaster/remake with online would be awesome
@ ow a 1000%!
The infamous series definitely deserves to be on this list
Baldurs gate 3 is one i think would be on this list as well
No Fire Emblem 3 Houses is criminal in my books. Still great video as always!
Omg thanks for reminding me of Stanley Parable which I last played in 2019! I have an achievement to pick up boys.
I had no idea that Resistance had new guns. I'll have to go back and replay it at some point.
The broom closet ending is my favorite!
Resistance Mention hell yeah! Insomniac needs to bring the series back or just port them to newer generations/PC
8:07 You forgot to mention that although your attacks do 1/2 damage, you have virtually unlimited magic.
Yes Parasite Eve! The Chrysler building was tough!
Falcon!! My dude. Great Video.
Hey thanks for watching! :)
Another thing with resistance is if you played its campaign co-op you dont get the dual reapers on the second run, which I totally had no idea existed until my 10th play through
I probably wouldn't have replayed Resistance even if I had known there were more weapons.
