The forms are lovely, if you watch carefully, the sifu shows the student the correct way to perform, and they look like totally different, but is the same technique. It is a set of forms sequence meteor chasing the moon according with video description. Every one is on the assumption a man is in front of you throwing a punch, or static in guard, then you deflect with the same and on your side, which is opposite for him, and this is very, very violent, that could cause a purple mark in the attacker arm (those are the teacher corrections), the opponent continues moving towards you with an specific speed, and with the remaining hand, you hit, with the double of your force since the speed and weight of the opponent is falling towards you, and punches are on the front and side of the neck and the jaw ( that should be the meteor, an ascending rotating fist to the face). That is brilliant, compared with the other Bak Mei videos, this is very, very clear, in ultra slow motion. The other main technique is just pushing the attacker arm with the palm instead of hitting, and in a violent and ultra speed way, hit the head with the side of the fist with a "hammer" alike strike, hammer strikes are designed to disable a fraction of a second the opponent hitting the "weak points", most of the time are not lethal, but this one looks or could be kind of lethal even the professor whispers the Bruce Lee alike scream: "pyeaaaahhh" when he connects the hammer strike. He screams because that one requires an additional power, like the given by Iron Fingers training, very deadly also, the teenager is practically a Johny Wick clon : th-cam.com/video/DWzWwx8T3nE/w-d-xo.html . The other are a simple grab and kick application, all assuming there is a punch attempt from the attacker and the correct way to deliver kicks, to create the effect of "coil or spring", one of the principles, shown by Adam Chan in a video in youtube and shooting the kick to the right place, this is very important because the attacker cannot be seen. The only thing I am agree is that a double palm strike, which usually requires a set of striking sequences as preparation, is very difficult to see in a real fight, is the one showing in the shaw bros white lotus movie.
Totally useless! Won’t work in a real fight techniques are all ineffective, the forms are stupid cause they only practice I sided attacks. I use to train Bak mee throughout my teens and it’s just nonsense.
Who did you train with? I ask because two thoughts come to mind. Either your teacher did not know the deeper meanings of the art, or if they did have a deep understanding of their art, you were not someone with whom they would impart correct teaching. Chinese Arts has this problem. Most people do not have the full knowledge, or if they do, they are very cheap with it. There is a Bak Mei Master in NYC who's depth of knowledge is beyond most people in the US, who mostly trained in the "kick/block/punch" aspect of Bak Mei. There is WAY more to it.
@@areitomusic regardless it’s very outdated the techniques and training and very unrealistic and lacks fluidity. Not sure if you have ever been in a fight but fights are fast aggressive spontaneous so old rigid king fu systems although look good don’t work in today today. Infact bac mee from my years of training is very unrealistic so I switched to Muay Thai and been doing it for the 25 years and it’s so much better. Forms are pretty much redundant and unrealistic way of training.Don’t waste your time of this as it doesn’t work. All the moves he shows are to a stationary arm not a real punch or even a punch at 50% it’s bullshit. The techniques are slow and don’t provide cover and where are the combinations for example block and counter with 2-3 punches etc. If you think this will work in a fight you are seriously delusional and brainwashed. All the techniques are just not practical and so is the footwork to accompany it.
If you don't like it, why did you come here? I don't go looking for videos that I don't like, why do you? If you just want to tell us that you don't like it, we can figure that out by you not being here. Your presence here is pointless.
