I never thought to use the walking foot for knits but what a great idea! I have a bunch of knit t-shirts to make for little bitty baby dolls and I'm going to try it. I never thought about using a twin needle with my walking foot either so I'll have to try that too! Thanks Cinnamon!
I totally thought this video popped up in my TH-cam feed because I was just searching for tips on quilting knits with a walking foot yesterday. Nope! It popped up because you just posted it! Good timing! (Doll quilt for my niece out of her late grandma's knit shirts)
So I have never placed my walking foot on my machine! That large chunk of machinery looked complicated and so was easy to ignore. Now I will have to get mine out and try knit sewing again - something I really avoid doing.
Really useful video. I have the exact same model of Bernina and was disappointed to discover that I could not adjust the pressure on the regular foot in order to sew knit fabrics - you're right that it just stretches out the fabric. Bernina accessories are not cheap but I might just invest in this attachment so I can make T-shirts with it.
I love my walking foot for fleece!
I will be using my walking foot so much more now. I never thought of using it to sew knits.

Knits can be a challenge so this lesson is a good one for tips to help make sewing on knits so much easier.
I have used the walking foot for wovens and the twin needle for knit hems, but never together. Great idea!

Glad it was helpful!
I’m glad that you’re showing how to use this presser foot but I would really like if you showed the roller one for pleather or leather please
Thanks for the feedback, I'll look for one to demonstrate soon!
Moving the needle so that the fabric is under both feed dogs and presser foot toes; thank you!
I have a walking foot but have yet to try it. I’m going to go do the sleeve twin needle cuff right now with it.
I use the walking foot for quilting, but I can see now I am underutilizing this handy little thing.

Great to hear!
I have a Pfaff machine which has something like this built in
Knits are hard to sew. A walking foot sure helps.
Now if I can only get mine to work again--It has tried to quit!
I think I need to get a walking foot. Knits frustrate me.
