I can't remember what game it was, but there was a Browns game a few years ago where the PBP guy was similarly clueless on a missed PAT. He even said the wrong score as they were going to commercial break when the proper score was on the screen.
I’m convinced he was looking at his phone or something and just missed the kick entirely and just panicked and guessed a wildly specific and wrong guess lol

You can break that down, and listen to it continuously but yet, it is still a mystery to this day

Someone in the comments to a copy of the video explained it.
He said that the University of Toledo stadium commentary boxes are on the sideline, and looking at it from the side angle, he couldn't really tell where the ball was. He should have looked at the play on the screen next to him, but instead he just looked at it live and got confused.
@@florencefortyseven or you know look at the refs that call it good or no good. I mean if you can't tell from a sideline view then why try to call it without checking. Lest you become an eternal joke.

Well, Romo was wrong in the sense where he underestimated the size of Andy Reid's balls. Pretty much everyone thought there was no play. Yeah, Romo gets a pass.
Not the first time he choked in the 4th quarter.
Browns SB Champs 2022
Romo was better at "guessing" the play per covid when he was able go to practice watch the formations of a team and what they were doing out of them that week. Once NFL closed practice he didn't have his crystal ball. I'm sure he will have it back next season.
