I love how the movie really explains a bunch of stuff Season 1 referenced.
Like how Maki said that she hated using Playful Cloud in her fight against Hanami was actually because it was Geto's weapon of choice.
Or the multiple callbacks to Yuta being overseas in Africa was shown in the post-credits scene.
Or the fight that got Nanami listed as the sorcerer with the most Black Flashes that we were told in Yuji's fight against Hanami.
And why "Geto" doesn't want to be seen in season 1 because he's already dead in the movie.

I was confused as to how people thought rika leaving meant that he got nerfed. Even tho he can literally manifest the demon rika (without rika's soul because it finally departed) on sight because it was all him

This story was actually written and published before the actual JJK series as a one-shot. It became so popular that Gege decided to make it a full series, but there was only so much he could do with Yuta as the protagonist so he created Itadori
Itadori is well written which is why he’s a better protagonist. Gege had to think hard with his character writing.

Itadori feels like reverse Yuta. Yuta starting shy and lonely to gaining confidence and friends, Itadori starting confident with friends to slowly losing faith and confidence in who he is while losing people around him

He's there not only to check on Yuta's training, but to ask an important favor. He asks Yuta to protect Itadori and step in, if anything happens to Gojo.
That's how GOATed this kid is, Gojo considers him the next-in-line.
That's why Gojo mentions Yuta when he's getting sealed to Kenjaku.

Few non-spoiler things to note:
- That Cursed Energy blast from Yuta was raw Cursed Energy from the vow he made with Rika, it was not Gojo's Hollow Purple.
- When Ijichi whispered to Gojo, he was telling him about how Yuta is in the same bloodline of Michizane Sugawara (just like Gojo) which is why Gojo urgently sent Panda and Inumaki (losing Yuta would be a big loss).
- When Sukuna in season 1 talked about how sorcerers need charms to often use their Shikigamis, Rika is a perfect example of that because Yuta needs his ring (a charm) to use her full strength, whereas Megumi can just use hand signs instead.
- Miguel's weapon disrupted Cursed Energy/Techniques which is why Gojo had to handle him before Getou, who he trusted with not killing the kids.
- Yuta hit a Black Flash against Getou.
- Nanami's record of landing 4 Black Flashes in a day/row was shown in this movie.
- Yuta is often hyped up as the strong kid in season 1 who is overseas with Miguel.
- Yuta was supposed to be the MC of JJK but it was later switched to Yuji.

Yuta is crazy powerful honestly. A sorcerer of the same bloodline as Gojo, has one of the strongest Curses as a Shikigami, and is a problem himself. It seems he can heal himself/others and even copy techniques in this movie, and land Black Flashes.
Yuta technically isn't a member of the same blood line like Gojo said he a very distant relative Yuta ancestor wasn't an actual member of the Gojo clan

2) While Todo brings him up, when is first introduced, as the “other second year” he wishes to fight in the upcoming exchange event 🥰
One interesting trivia to note:
The author shared that because Geto had committed a huge number of his curses to the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.
When he casted the Uzumaki, he was not pushing the max quantity of curses. The author mentioned if Geto’s Uzumaki was in full power, Yuta would definitely loses.
They did so well to portray Yuuta's mental instability that showed with him being emotionaly dependent ! I am proud He's grown to be independent, but he still can go crazy were his friends harmed tho
I love the added scene showing the parade. The animation was top tier, and I’m looking forward to the chaos that is the Shibuya incident.

FYI the guy who ran over Rika was the corpse that Yuji and Megumi tried to recover for his mother at the juvenile detention center early in season 1.

Not really, it’s just because it was a self contained story, once that one shot became popular enough the author started working on an actual series in the same universe, so if he wanted to make Yuta the main character he could’ve but instead he made a new character, Yuuji.
Nah yuta was the protagonist of jjk 0 before it was called that. After it did well Gege decide to make a continuation called jjk and named the one-shot jjk 0. Yuta couldn't be the mc since his character arc was solved in the one-shot.

After watching the movie Yuta became one of my favorite characters and after I started reading the manga he became my top favorite

this movie is so incredible start to finish! watching it in theaters on opening night was a damn delight and i'm so glad we can all enjoy it in our own homes now too
The reason we see Yuta and Miguel together is because Miguel actually survived their encounter and kind of impressed gojo as well as he sent yuta to Africa to do something else too but that's for the story to divulge later

Important things to note (spoiler-free) [i know some patrons probably already told u of this, but just incase]
- Gojo DID kill Geto, that was the stabbing sound that you heard. Yes, Geto died.
- Roshi was right, it was Geto who said that the Strong should protect the weak & Satoru was the one who was not on it. So yep, they both switched sides.
- Yuuta was mentioned a lot of times on season 1 but it’s easily forgettable plus he was also on the 2nd OP, they said that he was just overseas (with miguel), and remember first time Todo showed up he was looking for Yuuta.
- That end credits took place during the 1st season of the show, remember when itadori surprised megumi and kugisaki that he was alive, the kyoto students were also there and Gojo gave them those pink doll things, those are from the business trip overseas with yuuta at Kenya, & manga readers said that Gojo asked Miguel to be Yuuta’s mentor (don’t worry, this is not a spoiler as it happened in the jjk vol. 0 manga afaik)

Coming back to this reaction right after it was explained how Gojo was able to use Purple, was because of the fusion of reverse curse energy and curse energy. So what we saw was Yuta's version of "purple" it most likely wasn't as strong as purple because Yuta doesn't have limitless, but he has the same clan blood as Gojo.
That attack by Yuta isn't similar to purple, the purple is a technique and shoots a black hole, Yuta was just releasing pure cursed energy.
Yuta was mentioned quite a few times in season 1 if you go back. Even Rika being freed got brought up once

The car wreck at the start was quite traumatising but luckily I wasn't close to peaking yet so I could brush it off pretty naturally.
I believe it really enriched this film and the experience I had.
