I remember this so fondly. This was a huge moment in our season. Liverpool were quality back then and we never won at Anfield back in those days. And to do it with 10 men? Superb.
@@loyallfc7239yeah but we do win titles at Anfield. You can keep your champions league trophies. Domestic honours is what counts for me and in the last 30 years I would say we are more successful then yourselves
@@CliveWarren-tu6wt We have more domestic trophies than Arsenal so not sure what you're talking about? Factually Liverpool are the most successful team in England, sit this one out you don't belong on the table.
@@loyallfc7239 can’t argue with Liverpools domestic success but wouldn’t swap the fact that we had our greatest ever night at anfield. As far as Europe goes we’d of had a shot at it in 89/90 if there wasn’t a ban on English clubs caused by you know who
I remember this game so fondly as well. Really had to dig in under adversity against a good Liverpool team - was a big turning point in our season. The Romford Pele and Kanu were exceptional.
Funny just watching this the same day the 2 clubs met again for another super Sunday on sky.... absolute chalk and cheese the coverage today compared to then.... say what you like bout gray and keys...but the coverage in sky was never the same once they left.
Last season i watched arsenal when i was young That season, ljungberg won us the league In 4 leagues in 16 years i watched arsenal, that season being the last, we had 4 wingers who won us those leagues, and made the difference each time 1989 - marwood 1991 - limpar 1998 - overmars 2002 - freddy ljungberg from sweden What a player ljungberg was that season, like i said 4 leagues arsenal won in 16 seasons i watched them when i was young, 4 leagues, and each one we had a different winger who made the difference Glad i never seen arsenal since, but what a last season that was, and how great ljungberg was that season, like i said, the 4 leagues in years i watched arsenal, those 4 wingers made the difference in those 4 league winning seasons Arsenal are a joke since i stopped watching them, and highbury told them to fuck off, like i said, arsene wenger would ruin arsenal, and he did, he turned them into a joke side. I used barcelona in 2006 season to divorce from arsenal, and loved how barcelona beat my old team arsenal in 2006 euro champions league final, and see henry and wenger look pissed, as i and highbury said fuck off to arsenal. Arsenal the team i watched when young, officially died with highbury being gone. Never seen arsenal since 2002, only that final in 2006, when i loved that barcelona took them down. Highbury said fuck off to arsene wenger, and arsenal in 2006, and arsenal have been a total joke in there new stadium, like i said they would be. Divorcing the team you watched when young is a hard thing, but i love how bad arsenal have been ever since, and makes me laugh so much arsene wenger destroyed arsenal, and turned them into a joke after i stopped watching arsenal in 2002.

In fairness you never win at Anfield these days too

Considering the pace and power of everyone in that match (much more so than now) the skill of Kanu and Litmanen was extraordinary.
The feet from Robert Pires for that second goal was amazing. 🔥
23 years later and we're still asking for consistency from referees.
That Ashley Cole clearance was ridiculously good
How he got his right foot together I'll never know

Arsenal with a heroic win here
Ahh the days when football was cooking unlike todays boring bland disgusting 4-2-3-1 with 2 holding midfielders boring defensive football
Richard Keyes laughing his head off because Lfc lost. How times have changed.
