All I smoke is live resin, I love it so much. Potent, good taste, and it doesn't smell as much as flower would. Shatter is enjoyable as well but live resin is my favorite.

I really wish you'd been around when I was studying, and passing, and not understanding what was really happening, but able to memorize enough to get through a chemistry minor, decades ago. And you get A+ points for using all scientific terms, yet also translatable for anyone solo still trying to improve their methodology. Careful with this stuff. It's very powerful. I have a dablicator with cannabis oil and a jar of Lumen Budder. A small dab of either is enough to send me on a 6-hour trip.
Would the distallate not be already decarbed then the isolate should also be decarbed too? Only reason I ask is that you said when the isolate is made you get pure THC-A. But having being previously distilled would decarboxylation not have occurred already?

When ur talking about any extract method ... there are those who are essentially following a recipe, having seen the process and then reproducing the same versus those that have a chemistry background and approaching extraction with a foundation of working knowledge, pharma r&d/bench chemist SOP and standards etc ... obviously the latter will be a smaller group of ppl but are those who r able to ensure the process results in the most safe, pure/cleanest extracts ... As legislation changes globally... more legit chemists will be working in the field ... only to progress the market overall

Our plan is likely going to be : 1- extraction with apolar solvant (pentane for example or lower bp alcane like butane but it looks harder to scale up the process) or with ethanol and/or dichloromethane 2- Evaporation of solvants 3- Preparative HPLC on apolar column with acetonitrile (and water but removed with molecular sieves if the evaporation is problematic) 4- Separation of THC and THCA fractions, collect of all others fractions 5- Evaporation of solvents to get pure mix of terpenes and cannabinoids without THCs . Questions : 1- Do you think we will evaporate terpenes during evaporation processes ? To my knowledge, the lowest bp terpene in cannabis is alpha pinene (bp = 156 °C, 313°F), so it shouldn't be a problem de remove ethanol or acetonitrile with a rotavap without removing terpenes. 2- What do you think about HPLC preparative technique is this field of cannabis extract ? 3- Could you explain a little more the process of winterization ? I'm sure there's a way to make cristals out of iso extraction . Figure 30 second to a minute wash . Then condense down and put pressure in a container . Then slowly distill till you get cristal growth . And no contamination it's a win win lol
If you are looking for freshness and cleanest oil possible, then you should press the weed in a hydralic press right after harvest. There is no need to use other substanses to extract high end oils. U can also use heat to extract..

Years ago, my dog was kick out of her house that I made for her by a skunk, it was zero temperature, wind blowing 35 to 40 mph, wind chill was 17 below. I kick the skunk out, but she wouldn't go into it because of the strong smile, so I pain fully hung the towels on the cloth line, it was damn cold and after three days I took them down, and they smelt clean as can be, so clean, you could sleep on them. Extracting in this way makes very good sense. Question ? How do you extract it under those conditions.
The live Rez "freshness" means curing was skipped, which is a chemical process, and ultimately yes, "more robust" in flavor but not overall potency. You cant replace or fake a cure!

You mean hash? this is achieved by putting trichomes under heat and pressure. The trichomes will melt together into one mass.
