i've done this on my plugs as well. a quality bead chain with a size 4 hook works perfectly to keep a big chinook on the line and i haven't lost any since i made this change.
Great tips, especially about the direction of the hook on a spoon! I like to pinch the barbs before attaching them to the gear incase you slip and hook yourself LOL
