I subscribe to this channel and I have watched countless videos. I have made that vegan lasagna at least 100 times. Thanks to you guys, I know how to wrap a burrito LOL. Lately I haven't been watching much, because over time I started subscribing to more and more things and somehow I just started skimming over these videos. I deleted a bunch of my other subscriptions so I can bring my focus back here. I can't say for sure that your recipes and inspiration kept me on a vegan path these past 4 years, but I can say they made that path a lot easier to walk. Thank You.
The editing in this vlog is next level! It probably took a lot of time, so I wanted to let you know it doesn't go unnoticed :) But don't feel pressured, without the editing I would still watch every vlog because of the energy and laughs with the two of you.
I always love "What I eat in a day" videos. As a fairly new vegan trying to find a groove to fit into, it helps me to see what other vegans eat on a regular basis to get a feel for what I should aim for and helps give me ideas to build my own meals. Keep it up!
Thank you Derrick for staying true ❤️ and still making awesome videos for all these years. I always find myself watching when I'm in need of motivation ☺️
I love these hikes and “what I eat in a day” vids. You are so lucky to have such incredible nature to hike. And, stopping for a giant sandwich 🥪 along the way is fun!
This is a high quality video! The filming, the angles, the reeling, the editing, everything is of another level! Plus great food, plus amazing scenery, plus nice people equals insane content!💥 Derek, you are the boss, man! 💪🏆🥇
Mango powder is also good when dry roasting jackfruit with spices to make tacos, before adding in tomatoes or salsa then scrape the fond off the bottom of the pan - Adds a beautiful depth of flavor! I loved this video, yall are so cute, & miss seeing Crystal's videos on her channel too. I hope she comes back! The food looks great! ❤️👏👍🏻🧏🏻♀️
Thanks! When I was time crunched I would batch cook as much as possible. I think that's what it's called. Like make whole bunch of something you are going to have for dinner. Like beans and rice, baked tofu, stew, chili, etc. and use that as the base of your meals. It's fairly easy to build a quick meal around something like that. Then chop a bunch of veg. when you have time to have on hand. Purchase things like sauerkraut, hummus, to add on the side. Have nuts/seeds/fruit as a backup plan for extra calories or snacks. Hopefully I'm not just stating the obvious. Haha, that's just what I did.
You guys are so much fun! Loved that you took us on your hike. Your sandwiches looked AMAZING. Love how genuine and positive you both are. Editing was on point and it was so pleasant to spend time “hanging out” with you guys! Thanks for making such fantastic content. You are appreciated!
I love what I eat in a day videos, a lot of our regular rotation meals are from you. The start of the hike made me think of ask me Mondays lol, you guys usually walked in the woods. It's so beautiful there I always enjoy your outings. I agree with Brian, love the fairies lol.
Love these videos and huge compliments for the editing skills. Cutting from the onion in the basket to the onion on the chopping board was a nice touch. Smooth, mister!
You should add garam masala to your curry next time, it’s a spice blend added to a lot of different Indian dishes. It added a delicious flavor to almost any dish! Once you start making your own curries at home you’ll start adding more spices to your pantry and it’s totally worth the investment!
Another awesome video! Thanks! The hike was great, the perspective from inside the grocery basket was unique, the cats were fun, and of course the meals were excellent.
When you guys started up the Notch, I recognized it immediately but then you must go up a different way than I do. I go up where there are switchbacks in the woods. That's a tough one to climb, at least for me being in my 70's. I need to get in better shape. I also pre-cook a bunch of potatoes each week and use them in so many ways: smashed and baked in the oven then coated with a sauce; in a salad; in curries; in wraps & burritos either slices or mashed; and even tossed in a smoothie sometimes.
The filmmaking quality of this video! Just like the summer pasta recipe, there's a definite stylistic change and progression in your work! Looking really slick and engaging and professional, my guy! Also, I SEE YOU, SUBTLE HINT AT CRYSTAL BEING PART OF THE FAE WITH THAT FADE FROM FARIES TO CRYSTAL (that was slick! And accurate! She's very elfin and elegant).
...the intro was beautiful ~ thanks for the light hearted cute cat laughter 😊 {I needed that} ~ note; you got the 'Holy Grail' in your curry dinner prep. In Ayurveda detox tea, it consists of coriander seeds/cumin seeds, and fennel seeds. For that, you brew a big ole' pot, [this is a base, there's other hacks you can add] strain the seeds, let cool down too preference; then put in a big ole' thermos...and sip throughout the day before 6 ish p.m. - I try to cook with these 3 spices everyday ~ those sandwiches looked great! When I get around too it, I'm going to attempt to dupe those
Man, I need to make that curry tomorrow! It looks amazing. And yes, please continue making these videos, they are my favorite! And I love that you guys are Canadian since I can always find the stuff you buy at my Superstore!

Another great video. I never get tired seeing what you eat in a day- keep them coming please. It's good to take a day off & go for a hike. Thanks very much - good to see you both. God bless you from Grandma Katie in Oregon
I never get tired of these videos. My coach wants me to do what I eat in a day video for my gym and I’m using your ideas as inspiration. As I’m one of the only vegans at my gym, I feel the responsibility of representing plant based eating in an interesting way. Thanks, Derek!

For all the cilantro haters(such as myself), try replacing it with mint! Fruit goes great with mint.
Thanks, I will definitely try that! :O
