- I gotta admit when people first asked for this i didn't think it was possible without it being some hacky thing. But it worked out pretty well. Some animations are too fast and have too much head movement to be fun. That's probably why they made them third person.

@uboq 2 I means the Spartans of generation 4 in general, not only Locke. Sorry, i forgot include the last s in Spartan in my previous commentaries.

It's really cool really if you think about it in the Spartan's point of view because it shows that these assassinations are mostly instinctive as if they do all these movements naturally so when they pull one off they aren't focused on the actual character they are killing they are more focused on who's next by looking up or around either way really cool and gives me at least another reason to appreciate this game.
Also the fact it has to be slowed shows how fluid and effective their movements are.
These look so cool! This actually makes me wish that 343i would add first person options for assassinations (and vehicles) in future titles! :D
Well, if they designed the specifically for first person, I'm sure the issue of them being 'too fast and have too much head movement to be fun.' Every time Gamechat releases a video, 343i should start taking notes.
It would be way to fast to see them. You would only be able to view them slo mo in theatre mode. No campaign or spartan ops assassinations either, since 343i didn't add them to theatre...
Ossoona Well like Science-Recon said, if 343i designs the assassinations to also be viewable from 1st person then there wouldn't be a problem making them at least an option to be toggled
First person vehicles would suck.
NukeDaNoobs Yeah generally they would be difficult to view, but it doesn't hurt to put the option there. It gives people a challenge for vehicular combat (I can just imagine a first person race variant) and is great for machinimas. Also it worked fine for the passenger warthog seat in HCE
1st person assaninations only work if the Fov is high and the speed is slower or else you would get a headache :P

This is AMAZING, I hope they make FP assassinations an option for halo 5, I also hope they put on counters, so that two spartans will engage in hand to hand combat and whoever presses the right buttons wins or something like that
I thought of that one time but then i realized that someone can walk up and kill one of them in the middle of the sequence, that could probably work out better if two people melee eachother at the same time, because if they had counters on assasination it takes out the assasination part.

Why? We would have a horrible BF4 melee counter system. Which is a bit unrealistic for normal soldiers. I understand spartans can do that, but as an actual gameplay mechanic :/ I wish chief did hand 2 hand with the Didact at the end, that would have been awesome

That would be awesome (and i dont mean to shoot down your idea) but when a knight dies it disintegrates, along with any weapons, especially if the weapon is attached to the Promethean
John Price mmm... True but it would be cool if you could rip it off and use it until a timer or something runs out.
John Price well the energy sword exploded when an elite drops it in Halo: CE... it wasn't usable until halo 2 so why couldn't that be the case with the promethean sword
John Price The hard light sword comes off in one of the assassinations and you stab the knight with it so you could possibly use it as a weapon, but I don't think the weapons knights use disintegrate when they die, also its supposed to be a weapon skin mod its not for real.

The view on the receiving end of the Flood Assasination looks like when you fail in a horror game and the monster gets you, which is exactly how it should look.
i wonder, that if you assassinate an elite. the energy shield will recharge if the armor is no damaged. so there will be a lot of dead bodies with shields.
Man this looks pretty good! Hopefully 343 does some kinda feature in future Halo installments where you can perform assassinations in First Person View.

there's one you missed for the jackle. he grabs a knife backward, trips the jackle with that hand with the knife,and stabs the jackle.

The multiplayer assassinations look pretty good especially the sword one but the campaign ones looked weird
What's up with them not having leg and arm armor?
I wish you could see more of what you're doing, but that I believe would require a different animation set where they set things up you know so you can see the knife being drawn and go into them. Basically all this is is just changing the camera switch to false so it doesn't zoom out. I prefer them in third person because then I'll turn the camera to where I want to face when I come out of the assassination. I've actually ruined some would-be assassins' days like that. I'll turn the camera to face them and when I come out of the assassination I'm actually facing them and they won't be able to smack me in the back in return, sometimes the shock gives me a long enough moment of hesitation to get enough hits int hat I end up killing them instead. Having the third person screen is awesome. Though I do admit, some of the first person ones that are spartan v spartan are quite nice they have that sort of "I want to see the look in your eyes as you die" sort of feel to them. But over all I don't see myself using any first person assassinations anytime soon.

Halo 5 is completely online. So it would be impossible to do with out being banned. Plus I don't even think he could do it online.

Not sure about the spartans and elites but you missed a few for the grunts, jackals, and crawlers. One each. Watchers might have another animation but I’m not sure.

How did you get the 1st person assasssinations?
I feel like this isn't what an actual person would be seeing going through these motions. The first person camera doesn't account for eye motion, so some assassinations might not look as disorienting or confusing as this if you were to do it in real life, because while your head may be moving a lot, you can focus your eyes on a single point of reference to keep your bearings

I prefer the third person assassinations, the movement from in the helmet in first person started making me slightly motion sick with all the rapid jerking and movements a minute in
They could obviously improve this. No one was really supposed to see this. They could smooth it out a bit.
Some of these look really cool in first person. Most of them didint though.

Gamecheat13 This is fun. Didn't know you can do this in Halo 4, I guess I'm so use to when Halo Reach does that out of the box.

The flood assassinations were the best. They should give you a preference setting on custom games to toggle third/ first person modes.

Can you do multiple team battles with AI's? Or spawn AI's on multiplayer maps and have them do slayer, living dead or whatever? (And include flood)
the flood assassinations were sick. it would be really nice if you did this with halo reach if you haven't already.
Assassinated 2 side by side campers in multiplayer. Took out 1, his buddy got distracted by someone else then I pounced on him too. They came back for vengence. Dropped em both. They came back again and on the 3rd attempt they took me out. Was epic. Great footage. Funny, the little moments we remember.
