【The Journey of a Veteran】 Choices in Turbulent Times：The Story of Uncle Chen | From Hunan to Taiwan

This film tells the moving story of Uncle Chen, his difficult journey from Hunan to Taiwan. In 1948, due to the second civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Uncle Chen fled from his hometown Hunan, joined his childhood friend and joined the army in Taiwan, and since then he has been separated from his family. The film depicts his hometown during the war, his love of calligraphy, and his life in the Taiwanese army. Uncle Chen's warm time with our family and his resilience in the face of adversity show the emotion and dedication of a veteran. He later opened a clinic in the countryside of Tainan to see doctors for fellow villagers and help friends in need. The film ultimately reviews his later life and the historical significance of the veteran's story, hoping that more people can understand this precious history through these stories.
