- Hello everyone, Glad to see you back x)
Here's a new piano piece with a left-hand motif that's a little repetitive, but nice. I'd love to know what kind of feeling it evokes for you, I don't really have any ideas myself, and I was wondering what kind of emotions it could evoke, so if you have any ideas, don't hesitate :)

This feels like a combination of baroque and romantic. The sequences are there but they’re not so cut and dry like you’d expect out of a baroque piece. The chords are a little more unpredictable so that you can play with the emotions like in a romantic piece
The feelings i get from this is excitement, doubt, it describes something fast paced but not too intense. Like a time sensitive quest.

a piece being repetitive can sound amazing when done well (which is the situation here), the left hand accompanies the melody very well

0:34 ~ around 0:52 kinda quotes the handel/halvorsen pasacagalia. Idk if that was intentional, but it's such a pretty passage!
It definitely feels like a blend of baroque and romantic. There are several parts where the counterpoint / harmonies remind me of Bach, but at the same time, there's a lot of emotions in other parts that kinda lean towards romantic.
Thank you for your comment. It has been pointed out to me before that the passage you mentioned resembles a passacaglia. In fact, I hadn't realized it for this particular piece because this rhythmic motif is very common in Baroque music. It is used in so many pieces that this one didn't specifically come to mind. It's called a "romanesca".
haha and yes the part that looks like bach was done on purpose, I literally thought to myself ‘what would bach do in this situation’. Well, I tried x)
The beginning sounds unique. The fast bass with slow melody is romantic but not super lush and lyrical like Chopin. I can definitely hear Bach towards the middle tho and I love the use of counterpoint and cadences. Nice job.
Haha, well done, everything is true!! For the part inspired by Bach, I didn't have many ideas and I just thought, if I were Bach, what would I compose here? Well, unfortunately, I'm not Bach, but the intention was there 😂 Thank you so much for your feedback it's insane.

Haha yes to be honest I didn't really have an idea for a title and it's true that it's rather romantic/classical. But there's a redundant baroque motif that I really enjoyed composing, so that stuck with me. There may also be some Bach inspiration...🤔

god this is so cool and made me think of movie tropes. like a sorting thru the attic, conspiracy board detective type vibe.
it sounds like looking back at your life with someone but small things start to stick out, like little things theyve done that were vaguely suspicious. but then you start piecing everything together and it turns out they werent who you thought they were. it sounds like carefully sorting through evidence. but it ends on a bittersweet sort of sequence, where maybe its ok theyve done something, and maybe you just keep that fact to yourself.

@@tantanbpm I mainly meant the overall flow, but of course you know your piece the best. Of course I often find parts in my works, that are not ideal in my opinion, so I understand your perspective as well.^^

Thank you very much :) Well, it depends, but for this piece I first came up with a basic melody (not too short so that I could exploit it to the full) and created a simple left-hand accompaniment pattern that sounded good with the melody. Then I created other melodies or variations of these melodies and repeated the process until I was satisfied with the final result. ♥

Merci chef ♥, j'ai juste l'impression qu'on compose dans un style très similaire. À chaque fois que j'écoute tes sons, ça me perturbe un peu car je me dis que ça aurait tout aussi bien pu être une de mes compositions. On utilise le même style de piano en plus 😅

oh yes, I've just listened and there's a rather similar passage, it's a recurring motif (rather rhythmic) in the baroque, I think it's called a romanesca (:

No I use reaper, and the vst is "Noire Piano" it also works on fl :)
