Do you just have one book, like our Christian Prayer, or four volumes that switch throughout the year like our Liturgy of the Hours? And isn’t it funny that there isn’t one option per language, but at least one per country?
@@DeannaWillistonOFS Sorry only seeing this now. Just the one book, it's the Franciscan Rule but has a small daily office in it (Sunday to Saturday), the night prayer is the same for every day.
I think if I look at my daily prayer basis, it seems quite full and well scheduled; even though I am juggling a lot of ordinary day to day routine at the same time. Its really about sanctifying and taking that time out to just stop and pray; 6am Morning Prayer 9am Mass 10am Rosary 12pm Sext (sung, and with Angelus first) 3pm None (with Divine Mercy Chaplet after, but also Stations on Wed/Fri too) 6pm Evening Prayer 9pm Night Prayer I am trying to grasp interior prayer too, like with the Jesus Prayer. Its an old Orthodox practise that is quite acceptable to us also, and features in the CCC. How to truly pray unceasingly as St Paul commands. Worth a look?
Yes, the Jesus Prayer is good. You can also learn many similar short prayers from Fr. FX Lassance’s books. They can be sprinkled about in your day. Curious as to whether you have read any of the writings of St. Francis of Assisi and how he spoke in the language of Scripture?

Correction: Christian Prayer" has Night Prayer. Many people may not be able to say the Hours because of their other responsibilities.

Our book is green (maybe because we're Irish lol) and was published in 1979. It uses The Jerusalem Bible for the Psalms etc.
