I'm getting some questions about the miter box/cutter I use. The cutters I use were 3D printed for me and sold a few years back. Unfortunately, they are no longer on the market. When I first started tying Llanolopes, I cut the foam by hand, but the cutters will give you much better consistency. I know a few guys that are making small numbers of cutters for themselves. I'll see if they will share the STL and I'll report back.

I love this fly, thanks for the demonstration and tips. Did you purchase the little miter box or did you print it yourself? Do you have the STL for it? That is super cool.

    Hello Jim,
This is a really nice fly/popper.
You slice the foam tube in a sort of green slice bank?
Can you tell me what it is.
I will tie these for aspics in The Netherlands.
    It looks great to me.
Tight lines and greetings from The Netherlands.

Where do you purchase your elk and deer hair?

I tie thousands of Llanolopes, so I buy full antelope hides. I use elk for the tails. I previously bought the really big patches from my local fly shop, but they no longer carry them, so I shop around online and buy in bulk when I find a good price. I know this probably doesn't help much.
