I have been watching your videos, and using your tips for several years now, and it has really added to my success, please keep up the good work Bernie, thank you 👍
water sources..... is any water sufficient? you said ditches etc... will shallow water holes in forests (really small ponds, big year round puddles) work?
What about a bait site on the edge of an opening? bait site in/on the edge of a muskeg/swamp edge? hunting with rifle approx 75 yards away. also is scent still as important at that distance?
Inside the edge of an opening possibly. If you can get 75 yards away, then wind is not much of an issue, depending on location. It's hard to find a set up for that long of a range but it does solve some problems if you can find one.
1. Good bear population 2. High ground 3. Near water 4. Good cover 5. Good access 6. Typical wind 7. Clean access to tree stand 8. Backround cover in tree 9. Tree stand 15-20 yards to 10-15 ft high 10. Trail cams
Great information I watched your videos since I was setting up my first ever bear site this spring! Thank you for sharing your experience as it was and is a great help and helped me to have a successful spring bear season as we harvested two beautiful bear this spring 2021!
Great video! I'm new to this site. Do you have any videos on how to bait a spot for which one has limited access? Like a lone 3-5 day hunt, where one cant run an active bait site.
I think they are concerned about the things you are using to bait and lure with leeching into the stream. Seems like a longshot but that's the concern.
Hi, I have a question hopefully you have some tips? What would be best to keep raccoon out of the bear bait? I keep having close to 10 raccoon at my bait, my bait got eating super fast by them.
Man that's a tough one, those little bandits can eat a lot of bait. I try to keep my baits inaccessible to them when in raccoon areas, but once the bait has been opened by a bear it's a free for all. Wish I had a better solution but I don't know what it is.
@@BowhuntingRoad thank you, I try to trap with dog proof coon trap but when they got caught bear scare of them too and just don't come anymore for many days or weeks.

That is awesome! Great to hear my info is helpful.
I have 2 lakes 600m in each distriction. Lots of scat and old cuts. Am i to far from water?
Gonna take the bear quite a bit of time to travel 600 meters from the time he gets ready to eat in the evening. He may not arrive before dark.
Must be nice to use barrels etc wisc makes it tough on us
Even more than the barrels is the limited amount of bait.
Great information, I hope that I can put your tips into a bear trip if they ever open Canada back up.
I hope so too!
If I go to Idaho to bait bear
Is 2 weeks enough time
Spring bear
Yes, watch the video on this channel called The Pattern.
More great content - sure hope we can get to Canada in Spring 2022!
As always, great info!
Do you have a recommendation on broadheads for bear hunting? Do you prefer fixed or mechanical?
Thanks very much!
I have killed a lot of bears with both mechanicals and fixed, and I have a Video for that: th-cam.com/video/3ohp6-0bgOc/w-d-xo.html
Wish we could bait in NY. We’re getting a lot of bears here.
What part? I have a ton of them in the Catskills keep eating my chickens. Smacked one with a frying pan the other day
Southern tug hill area. Had one walk right through the yard the other day.

Yes there are videos on how much to bait and how often.
@@BowhuntingRoad thanks for quick reply. look forward to perusing your content/library. thanks again!
Do the states that restrict the closeness of bait sites to water feel that it is an unfair advantage to be close to water or is there another reason?
I think they are concerned about the things you are using to bait and lure with leeching into the stream. Seems like a longshot but that's the concern.
