This movie is an adaptation of an anti-capitalist book and Eddie's actual ending, which they filmed but didn't release, is not positive. It's a cautionary tale. And he's only hyper-productive because of a drug, not because he's hardworking. Don't feed into capitalism's lie. 99% of people fail under it.

Raymond is absolutely right. I know this sounds like a platitude if you're watching it from the perspective INDEIDE of a depression but it's actually true. I was diagnozed with a depression a few years ago and this diagnose itself was a self-fulfilling prophecy. I believed it for 5 years (WTF?!). But as I began to take responsebility for my own feelings, asking myself what I REALLY want, reading literature, writing down my thoughts, meditating, taking psychedelics in small doses, meeting new people, learning new things and so on.. I finally reallized the lie and it's really as simple as that. But it takes time and energy and you will fail a few times. But you should be willing to take this on yourself

@@timedeath43 If you are asking whether or not depression is REAL, you are asking the wrong question. Depression is REAL, but that does not mean that it is unstoppable. In the end of the day, it is a set of symptoms that some are more predisposed to than others. For example, I have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder multiple times. My propensity to have an attention deficit is real, BUT when I fight against it through exercise, proper eating, meditation, etc. I can focus at levels close to (if not better than) most others without the use of anything other than good sleep and caffeine.
Change your life. Most people are depressed because they don't have a life worth being happy about. Hard to be depressed if you are happy and excited with your daily life. Hope that helps and hope you are doing much better 2 years later!
