The Eton FR Series are surprisingly well made. Tecsun made the internals for Eton, so that is probably why they have lasted over the years. During this Evening Medium Wave Band Scan, I employ the Terk Advantage Passive Loop to help bring in those distant stations with ease, and also to clarify semi-local ones as well.

I'm still an AM radio fan this time of year it's high school and pro sports at it's most exciting.I also like finding oldies music on AM.
I’ve been an AM radio fan for over 30 years. Used to work on air in AM.
Where I live now, there isn’t much in the way of music, but I can get “a basket of deplorable” right wing talk shows. I’d love it if we had some Oldies stations or Easy Listening stations on AM here. I haven’t found any. It’s mostly News/Talk or foreign language. I can still get my News/Talk fix, so I’m not mad about it.

I love the look and layout of this radio, and the handle is great. I have the FR-300 it’s great on AM and weather. The form factor is very similar to the C Crane Solar Observer, I often wondered who copied who on the look. Great review. thanks.

Hej Todderbert thanks for the video and the bandscan nice old school emergency radio and it looks very nice and big knobs love it and I'm on the hunt for a new a good emergency radio. And oh yes Todderbert Sofirn IF22A and Sofirn SC18 arrived early this morning in other words flashlight candy. So I'm going to go out and testing them when it gets really dark tonight take care Todderbert and have a nice tisdag.

How do you know the station call letters, location and signal strength?
The shape is very beautiful, but there are no fine adjustment buttons. .I think it's necessary.

Had a very similar version but without the SW and after it was in storage for a while the plastic case became very sticky and gross. It was stored in a bag in a closet so I'm not sure what happened to it and never had any other object do this before. Ended up throwing it out.
me too, I never had a plastic device get all sticky before but I just cleaned it with baking soda and water

Hey Todderbert? Since the radio don't have a NOAA weather band, and you had to rely on the AM station for EAS alerts. Sometimes these small town AM radio stations especially the computer operated stations don't relay the EAS alerts. If there's a bad storm square at you and you don't hear any tones, then you outta luck. Been there done that. My local AM radio station in Greenwood SC WCRS haven't activated their EAS system since last year. They have the EAS system equipment but it's not on. The other nearby stations relayed the EAS. That could be a hazard if a tornado is right in your area and you don't hear no warnings on one of your favorite radio stations. Can shortwave radio stations and HAM radio frequencies required to activate their EAS systems?
I tend to listen to local FM stations for Alerts if I do not have a NOAA weather radio handy.

Hej again Todderbert Sofirn IF22A and Sofirn SC18 have tested them a little today and I was impressed the short time I've had them because they arrived today. Sofirn SC18 is so nice here you have as you now a great compact flashlight for a low cost. The Sofirn SC18 feels so comfortable in the hand and I really like the rubber grip on the switch. And also the Sofirn IF22A is so lovely a nice thrower and that also is very nice to hold love them both. Thanks Todderbert for your reviews of these two flashlights and other flashlight reviews I can say that I am a happy camper today and I have never been disappointed with the flashlights you recommend or the radios. I'm now looking at the Sofirn Q8 Plus 16000-lumen turbo mode (Wow) (EC06) a new upgraded version of the Sofirn Q8 pro what it seems and, have seen some tests on it on TH-cam it seems to be a wild beast very powerful flashlight. Sofirn Q8 Plus seems to throw a bit further with 5000K tint but also 6500K tint is nice but it costs a bit but it is a premium flashlight. And the beauty of Sofirn flashlights is that they have different flashlights for everyone and price ranges. I also look at Sofirn SC32 it also seems to be a nice compact flashlight with a little more lumens than the Sofirn SC18. Todderbert I recommend the Homicial pocket radio I bought from Amazon I think you should buy it a very nice low cost radio take care Todderbert. PS sorry if i reply a lot to your posts but love what you do.
Good to know the Homicial radio they have on Amazon is a good buy. Been looking for a sub $10 radio and that one might be it. Take care.
@@jlichi1510 Hej yes for $9.59 you have a very nice low cost radio I am very impressed with this radio it has a very good speaker good reception here where I live and it very nice to hold. I use it mostly on the FM band but this radio is a little gem I took a bit of a chance when I bought this radio, but I was pleasantly surprised how nice it is a great pocket radio take care and have a nice day.
