So I looked into it further and it doesn't mirror anything, it turns out that its just that its illegal for the game to allow you to. IRL the Americans didn't really have much problem with targeting mosques... or doing a lot worse war crimes... wish I didn't look into it :c
unfortunately, war crimes dont apply to non organized fighting forces since there's no way to try them for them, nor the US or its close enough allies who basically own the hague, so most proxy or US centric wars are full of horrible shit if you look too closely into them, see the Vietnam war or Israel's activities for good examples (or dont, it's pretty depressing what various fighting groups get away with)@@jacob7922

This reminds me of a story an Iraq war veteran told during an interview. He was the point man for a raid, and I guess the standard procedure for kicking down a door was to shoot the hinges off the door with a shotgun, then kick it down. This particular door the guy was about to shoot down had 3 hinges. He blasted the top hinge and bottom hinge, then for a moment, paused at the third hinge. He shot it, thinking it'd make it easier to kick the door down without all its hinges. Well, when the soldier kicked the door down, a little boy had been hiding right behind the door's hinged side. The kid's head was at the same height as the middle hinge.

The recoil on the guns in this game is so unbelievably bad. That's not how those guns recoil at all, and I'm tired of games adding extra recoil to guns so they're harder to use.
I feel like they were being unesecarily harsh to the game's use of real people / quotes, considering they wanted to make a game on real events and make it a simulator they chose to be respectful of history / horrors of war.
