Great video as always. One thing that strikes me is odd is the wear to the drivers seat base bolster. I don't think that level of wear is normal on a genuine low mileage car, unless these particular seats arent very hard wearing on the base?
Top of the range Astra Elite, pity it’s not an auto, but Elite is fully loaded spec. Great to see only minor structural damage. These are a popular car and a very spacious estate. I have had a few Vauxhall’s in my time and put serious miles on them. Strong motors, relatively cheap to fix. This should fly out of the yard when it is sorted. 👍🇬🇧😎
Love the videos Rob and Chris , you guys remind me of my dad who could fix anything from a car to a cooker. He always said fixing things is easy, knowing what is wrong with them is the skill and what people pay for. Keep up the good work.
Nice video nice car. Regarding your camper van I’ve just sold our touring caravan in Devon to a caravan and motor home dealer who was recommended to use he gave use what we wanted. But he said he cannot get vans or campers for love nor money. You will definitely get a good price when you sell yours. At the moment this is the best time to sell.
Hi guys I’ve got the 1.6 petrol estate auto it’s a great car one problem I did have was an oil / water leak on the oil cooler behind the exhaust with all the front parts off it may be worth a quick look before you rebuild the front
Love the positive and calm approach you and Chris always have to the projects you take on. I think that is a big reason while I subscribe and can't wait for the next vid.
I've had a few that have been damaged by copart fork trucks. They wrecked a stainless exhaust on a scooby and one I've got now that needed a wing and a wishbone has a nice dent in the sill from a fork. I buy elsewhere now
You deserve a copart bargain for a change well done for sticking to your 1st bid. Hope the windscreen is not too pricey. Looking forward to the next part. What a great start to the weekend.
Use guys should get onto the discovery channel Rob and Chris wheeler dealer use would be 100 times better.love watching the channel and the work use guys do is A1
Salvage cars always look bad until you get the damaged panels off, this is gunna make a nice car when its ,done ,and one thing for sure ,we all no it will be repaired to a very high standard, all the best guys
The mk6 comes with various types of headlight the older ones had halogen DRLs and you could also spec Adaptive Forward Lighting which were H.I.Ds with LED Drls but some of the later models have halogen headlights but LED DRLs and the GTC models another design again.
Great buy Chris 👌. This video is really your bread and butter stuff. Keep em coming. Excellent. You're on a winner lads. Only problem with the video is its not long enough. Would gladly watch for an hour. Enjoy the weekend guys.
Yet another fantastic find by Chris, this should be a quick turnaround for you guys. Hard to keep up with all of the projects. The camper van range Rover viva ect lovin' it all 👍👍👍👍👍
It's have thought the windscreen sensors are just bonded to the screen when it's installed aren't they? The screen will be the same for all models in the range?
Is that an early version with the rubber timing belt ? Not the dodgy timing chain model were the chain guides fall apart after a few years, (if your unlucky), and low mileage, am told their a bad design fault but as usual vauxhall put it down to wear and tear LOL, customer pays !!
Good find for Chris, just goes to show that standing by the offer and holding your nerve pays off (sometimes). Don't forget to crack on with the camper otherwise you will have to pay for another MOT. Love what you guys do. Cheers, Jim in NZ.
They are good cars I had a 16 plate Astra, new model biturbo, a hit or a miss sometime with the Vauxhall’s, it’s good that you got it cheap because they don’t make a lot of money on resale. Great video 👍
Brilliant content once again Rob and Chris, this will be another cracking car when finished. I can’t wait for the following videos of the repairs. 👍👍👏😉
Cracking vid as usual gents. Got nights this weekend so this has cheered me up before my shifts. Hopefully I’ll get this motor off you as I’m needing wheels. Have a good weekend!
looking forward to this one as I personally want an Astra J estate, all going well with me getting back a licence (lost it a few years back when I was troubled)
Hi Rob,nice looking car,at the pictures it does look bad but it's alright.you and Chris will make it smart again.low mileage as well.cant wait for more videos on this Vauxhall.
Rob try Autovaux for any bits you need new, much cheaper than main agent. For used bits you can’t get off the parts car southwest Vauxhall spares might have a light, screen etc

I own an Opel Astra, so for me it's going to be interesting to see how the repair goes for you guys 👍🏻 The broken sensor on the engine you mentioned is a VVT solenoid. No biggie to replace it. As you mentioned, the windshields do differ from model to model. It looks like this particular Astra has the Light & Sight equipment package, which includes the rain sensor, auto dimming rear view mirror and automatic lights, that's why the black plastic surround may differ from models that are not equipped with the features I mentioned before. Good luck guys! 😄
Nice. Elite is Vauxhall’s top of the range luxury model. Heated seats, all the added bits. The headlights probably have the white LED Drls, rather than bulbs you normally see on a vaux.
My mate from work just wrote off his astra like the one you got for your parts car. His was a 61 plate tho. Looking forward to see the video how you take the dash board out to do the airbags now 👍
You must be sick of those airbags and seat belts😄but another bargain buy you and Chris will soon have that sorted and sold on. You two are bang on. Thanks for the entertainment and hard work guys👍
Mate I’m looking forward to the rebuild on this one ah, little bit of pulling, interior rebuild, it’s right up your street and can’t wait for the numbers blinding guys
That’s a nice spec and a petrol estate. Should fly out the door when fixed. Looking forward to the numbers on this one. Great video as ever thanks. Have a good weekend chaps👍
That one looks like another nice winner for the pair of you, some learning experiences along the way, such as the bolted on not spot welded bit and the high-tech windscreen, it is a shame the 'extras' are well bonded on, so they cannot be removed and transferred to another screen. They were already matched to the car. You did not mention it, but I thought that there was a bit of damage to the fifth door, or did my eyes deceive me? It would be lovely if this is a pull, dolly, and bolt up repair this time, hopefully with no stings in its tail.
Underrated car the Astra, the estate more so. A fearless bid should pay dividends on this one and give the new owner a nice practical car. Good luck with the windscreen though!
Hi with your astra being an elite it will most probably have LED day time lights and the one your taking it from will probably only have normal drls as it’s only an excite something for you to check. If it’s only normal bulbs yours has I think I got a passenger side headlight in my shed you can have.
Brill vid as always guys, I'd love to see in the future a car you buy and where you do daily vids on until its completed , (@ least 5 days per week .) Fingers 🤞
great car rob i bought one of this vehicle mine is 2.0 cdti elite 13 reg 5 door hatch , great video should make good car i payed 8000 pound for mine 4 years ago
Rob I love it when your full of beans. I had a right job with my Astra 1.6 twin port the other day. I had to fit a gear stick gaitor. Bought it off Amazonia and it was like putting on a cheap sock on a elephant. Took me longer than what it's gonna take thee and laddo to sort that car out. Bless up.👍😂😂😂
'I'm really excited about this one' says Rob - Rob - You are always excited about all of them! That's one of the reasons I love this channel :-)
Like he said in the other video 'Look at me, I'm all teeth!'
Chris done good thats a decent motor . Look forward to seeing it on the jig for a very light pull.
Great video as always. One thing that strikes me is odd is the wear to the drivers seat base bolster. I don't think that level of wear is normal on a genuine low mileage car, unless these particular seats arent very hard wearing on the base?
Top marks for your housekeeping Rob, you always keep the work area spotless. Just love these videos.
Chris has always kept it tip top 👍
Love the schoolboy error on the spot weld mistake. Real genuine viewing keep it up lads.
It would be interesting comparing the final price breakdown with a official Vauxhall parts list and see the capital saved.
It's only Friday. Chris wil lhave that finished by Saturday night 🤣🤣🤣
Have a good weekend chaps.
Cheers, Bob

Hi Rob and Chris, nice buy, hopefully easy quick fix and turn around. Look forward to following the progress. Cheers, Alex.
The greasy surface dirt in the engine area is the result of dust on the conservation wax applied to prevent corrosion.
You deserve a copart bargain for a change well done for sticking to your 1st bid. Hope the windscreen is not too pricey. Looking forward to the next part. What a great start to the weekend.
If the National Trust stickers still valid that got to worth £10! 😆
Use guys should get onto the discovery channel Rob and Chris wheeler dealer use would be 100 times better.love watching the channel and the work use guys do is A1
The scream when you hit that beam up 😂
Another great buy guys Chris done well getting that. Good on you both for holding out on the price.
Salvage cars always look bad until you get the damaged panels off, this is gunna make a nice car when its ,done ,and one thing for sure ,we all no it will be repaired to a very high standard, all the best guys

It's great to have friends like Kent autos makes life so much easier.

Looking forward to the next video on this car - enjoy all your videos - so thank you for sharing.
Great buy Chris 👌. This video is really your bread and butter stuff. Keep em coming. Excellent. You're on a winner lads. Only problem with the video is its not long enough. Would gladly watch for an hour. Enjoy the weekend guys.

Mark to the rescue again. Have a great weekend guys
Good find for Chris, just goes to show that standing by the offer and holding your nerve pays off (sometimes). Don't forget to crack on with the camper otherwise you will have to pay for another MOT. Love what you guys do. Cheers, Jim in NZ.
That looks like an absolute gem. That is a good quality budget family car that will do someone a turn.
Chris has a good eye Rob. Looking forward to this one.
Great project once again, Rob and Chris.
Excellent find Chris great content again looking forward to the next video.
They are good cars I had a 16 plate Astra, new model biturbo, a hit or a miss sometime with the Vauxhall’s, it’s good that you got it cheap because they don’t make a lot of money on resale. Great video 👍

Great video and content as always. Looking forward to seeing it completed and the best bit the numbers at the end. Have a great weekend.
You need to watch the chatty man. Leave him on his own for a minute and he bids on a motor. Love it. 😄
Nice. Elite is Vauxhall’s top of the range luxury model. Heated seats, all the added bits. The headlights probably have the white LED Drls, rather than bulbs you normally see on a vaux.
sadly it doesnt have satnav
My mate from work just wrote off his astra like the one you got for your parts car. His was a 61 plate tho. Looking forward to see the video how you take the dash board out to do the airbags now 👍

The Astra has smart lock in the computer you can change to either unlock whole car or just drivers door

Mate I’m looking forward to the rebuild on this one ah, little bit of pulling, interior rebuild, it’s right up your street and can’t wait for the numbers blinding guys

Looking forward to seeing Sunday’s extra video
Judging by the beaming smile on your face Rob that must've been a steal from the crash site! You're having difficulty containing yourself 😂
Nice car and excellent work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Very nice little car and an easy one for you two
👍👍👍
Glad to see a modern Vauxhall Astra J on the channel Rob!
Sadly new Vauxhalls are just rebadged Peugeots...i would keep this one :D
Great video !
Well done for sticking on the price !
Underrated car the Astra, the estate more so. A fearless bid should pay dividends on this one and give the new owner a nice practical car. Good luck with the windscreen though!
Hello,
Do you have a new microphone set up??
at 7:20 Chris is rummaging in my right ear!!!
Great stuff..😎
Cordialement,
Bet you thought you had super strength when the cross bar came off Rob 😂 lol cracking motor and very versatile. 👍
Hi with your astra being an elite it will most probably have LED day time lights and the one your taking it from will probably only have normal drls as it’s only an excite something for you to check. If it’s only normal bulbs yours has I think I got a passenger side headlight in my shed you can have.
Guys while ordering parts make sure you search for a dipstick because it looks like the ring at the end of it snapped!
Potential for a nice motor at the end of this repair well done can't believe the quick strip down.👌👌
Makes a change you not knowing, normally it's you surprising Chris. Great content as usual keep it up lads
Do love a bargain 👍🏻👍🏻
Great content guys
Keep safe 🙏✌️
Yes, I think the grin says it all, going to be another great series, 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video, another great project 👍
That’s brilliant about the service book and mileage being so low and great yes two sets of keys as well and a full tank of fuel as well
What better way to end a long day of working on car watching somebody else grafting away nice motor in that proven and improved over the years
That wis a smashing watch the vids keep getting better keep up the good work guys !👍
Brill vid as always guys,
I'd love to see in the future a car you buy and where you do daily vids on until its completed , (@ least 5 days per week .)
Fingers 🤞
Like the way you just buy vehicles without telling each other until the deals done - Was clearly Chris’ turn to do so today! 🤣👌🏻
great car rob i bought one of this vehicle mine is 2.0 cdti elite 13 reg 5 door hatch , great video should make good car i payed 8000 pound for mine 4 years ago

Love this as I used to have an Insignia Elite estate, lovely cars but wanted a Mondeo mk5 estate and got a good one
Well done once again lads, huge market for a wagon!
