Thank you, Outbound Mind! You will have a hard time beating this one-day endurance/strength/mental challenge video. I enjoyed every minute. I am happy that you took the catwalk path. The view of the drop was breathtaking.
Wow. This was a thrilling, scary, beautiful, and amazing endeavor, both parts 1 and 2. I think this is one of your very best adventures and I loved every minute-even the scary parts, 😊 I loved the scenery, too. The rock and boulder formations and colors are stunning, and the hike down from where the pines/vegetation begin-wow. So pretty! The blue of those lakes, the waterfalls, the bubbling “brooks,” and that gorgeous glacier-even those sheer, stomach-clenching drop-off’s, WOW. Amazing. And you were in your element, I’m sure, during those nail biting climbs and descents, right??! Great, great job! I didn’t want it to end!! And, 3:32:53 😂 Rogue grasshoppers?!?! 😊 See you next time!
That summit ascent is something else! I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I'm already afraid of what downclimbing that summit will be like! Awesome job - excellent climb.
@@TheOutboundMind Yes - it reminded me of an oft heard quote about flying an airplane: it^s not particularly difficult but is singularly unforgiving of mistakes!
Amazing footage of the owen spaulding route. In your opinion, what sections did you feel were most exposed and or difficult? The crawl/belly roll seemed the most exposed to me
Most exposed: 1a. Going from the first entrance of double chimney to second entrance. 1b. (If didn't choose the second entrance) upper half of "Sargent's Chimney." 2. Catwalk. Most difficult: 1a. Going from the first entrance of double chimney to second entrance. Tricky because the holds were stingy, whether smearing across and pulling up or walking under and climbing up. And couldn't make a mistake due to the dead drop. 1b. (If didn't choose the second) entrance) probably crux pull in the first entrance or crux bulge in Sargent's. I hadn't done first entrance to confirm. 2. Going from Lower Saddle to upper. It was gaining 1,600 ft in only half a mile, through either loose stuff in the drainage or difficult scrambling and class 4 climbing near/on the rib, or a mixture. However done, it was guaranteed to be unpleasant.

Watching you is amazing. There were times I held my breath. Absolutely amazing.
Glad you think so. This climb does feature the most exposure of all the ones I've shown on the channel.
Another great video! Amazing scenery. We may be visiting Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone next year but will go on a less dangerous hike.
It's relatively safe to get to Garnet Canyon, which is still a wonderful hike.

The actual climbing grade isn't that hard, but the extreme exposure does make it feel like an advanced route.

@@TheOutboundMind Thanks for the detailed response! Jeeze brutal, well congratulations on summiting The Grand 👏🏼
Love your video! Where did set up your camera while you are climbing? On your chest?
And also what kind of shoes you were wearing?
Yes. All videos were shot via chest mount. I wore trail-running shoes; a pair of Merrell Agility Peak 4 in this video.
