When CE send ARP packet where destination is all Fs then PE replicate that ARP message to flooding list (to other PEs with two label LDP + Service label received in IMET route). Question is: for this replication what will be protocol type. Tried capture in wireshark between PE to PE but not getting any packet matching with this information
In general, when you receive an ARP at PE, it will do ARP Proxy to do ARP suppression. Type 3 just creates a flood list to discover other PE in the same broadcast domain. And that flood list will be used for any BUM traffic. But we already have ARP suppression in place. We do not flood ARP packets.
So if I can understand correctly the IMET route RT3 results in creation of the flooding list, or in short the PEs belonging to the same EVI. Also ARP suppression kicks in if the PE has learnt the MAC/IP.
Awesome
These are good videos thanks. Also can you please let know what are the reference documents used
